@SBUcareer, I don't think testking works for CISA and CISSP. Those that have attempted the test before in the fora (www.cccure.org). www.cissp.com etc. Have all testify the need to read, read and read to understand the principles involves in IT security. Well, I will want to agree with u that it works well for other exams, CCNA, MCSE, MCDBA,MCSA etc but for CISA, CISSP (I doubt).

All said, if u come across anybody that have it and can be of help, I wouln't mind getting it, however, I keep reading.

I will be glad if it really works out well.

I work on contract with ETB - Equitorial Trust Bank Ltd. So, the pay is a far cry from expectation. angry
That doesn't bothers me really. I've got my focus right. The slow pace of responding to ur assignment was 'cos I am preparing for the CISSP exam in April.
But I promise to remain consistent with ur encouragement. Then after April, I will start firing with greater concentration. I hope and pray it all work out well. I am sure u must be an Enterprise business application developer.
Once again, thanx a million.
Let me quickly get back to ur assignment.

PoliticsRe: If You Are Made The President Of Nigeria by olat(m): 10:25pm On Feb 20, 2006
@oasis
Meeting the President, hmmmm, not necessarily important. Atleast not 4 now.
But what about giving a very good write-ups like say if we have a journalist among us that can always articulate our ideas and do a right up on the newspaers (say once every month). We can be picking a conrete issue - Social, political, economic etc. Infact we can even decide to be bring out issues on IT alone (which can fetch us an early recognition, in my oinion). Then I believe we can make our own contribution however little it may be to develop our own country and liberate many of our own pple. Do u know about Patito's gang. A bunch of brainstomers - Friends of Professor Pat Utomi, a reknown Political Economist in Nigeria. Some of the issues discussed in his programme (usually broadcast on TV) have been developed as white paper for the OBJ govt. Atleast I know 2 pple that has featured un his program who are currently in OBJ's cabinet. Mrs Remi Oyo and Oby Ezeskweli. If u guyz can start brainstorming (I hope u'll have time in the diaspora, we home guyz can always support u to make ONE).
PoliticsRe: If You Are Made The President Of Nigeria by olat(m): 9:52pm On Feb 20, 2006
@Oasis
I would have love to be ur Campaign Coordinator for 2007 elections. INEC is till registering New political parties.(On a lighter mood).
Honestly, u have dealt with many of the issues that seems to be the needs of the average Nigerian including some possible way-forward to our Micro and Macro economies at large.
@Ayanfe's contributions too isn't bad.

Well, I was just wndering if we can start developing ideas around this issues. I mean take one issue and discuss it extensively, then let our dearest site Admin (Seun) or another person collates the issue and send it up-front. I mean like giving the govt a white-paper, just like Patitos-gang, huh my humble thots.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Zenith bank shares, right?
Its ok, while the dance lasts. Atleast for the name snd reputation, Yes its a good buy.
Bit definitely not in the long run. If u ever need a bank share 4 a long term goal. My advice: Go for First bank and GTB.
Aside that, why dont u wait for Transcorp offer, did u get the idea, there is a govt interest in that upcoming homegrown Multinational coy, It will get a big boost!

CultureCan You Marry An Ijebu Lady? by olat(op): 10:46pm On Feb 18, 2006
Let me start from here. This thread is not intended for tribalism nor ethnic profiling. I have various experience at hand. So many good ladies from the Ijebuland - intelligent, morally upright and all that. But unfortunaley as early as their suitors (or suitor's family) know they are from Ijebu. (Ijebu is a tribe from Among the Yorubas, in the South-West of Nigeria). Hey, that is the end of the relationship. Its a known fact that all other Yoruba tribes from Ibadan, to Oyo, Osun to Kwara despise an Ijebu lady. Any of their sons that marry an Ijebu lady is an 'outkast'. It looks like an epic stuff, but ironically its still much around us. So many 'myth' sorround this issue, while some are true (but could be dealth with) others are largely misconceptions and presumtions. This thread is meant to liberate the Ijebu woman and to open up other issues associated with it. I am proudly OKO IJEBU (My wife is from Ijebu). Guyz, I wish u can join me 'cos am enjoying every bit of it. Please share ur experience!
Christianity EtcRe: Religious Violence And Free Speech by olat(m): 10:01pm On Feb 18, 2006
Hey, lets maintain some decorum here. This post is not meant to curse and abuse ourselves. Its for us to discuss issues in a rather objective manner as much as possible. I am a muslim and I believe that the violence that trail the cartoon issue is uncalled for. Very reactionary. It does not follow the sunnah (ways of life) of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Once the prophet was physically assaulte in Taif (a place in Saudi Arabia), He prayed to Allah to preserve the coming generations of the community to accept Isalm, even when he could have dealt with them. the prayer was answered.

@PrettyH
I beg u in the name of God. U are beautiful, good looking, precious handiwork of God. Kindly forgive and pardon Ajisafe in all that he had said to u. I apologize on his behalf.PPPPPPPllllllleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaassssssssseeeeeee.

@Ajisafe
I am utterly disappointed and felt extremely disturbed about your responses on this post. U have not shown the adab (ethiquette) of argument. Remember, Allah says 'id u , ila sabili, robika bil hiqma, wa mau zatil hasana, wa jadilihum, bi lati hiya hasan'. And call into the way of your Lord, with wisdom and beautiful preachings. And argue in the best of manner.
Kindly adjust and lets talk better on the new exclusive muslim thread that Seun has just created 4 us.
unfortunately, I will have love to make some comments on the above thread but due to this singular incident, I will be holding my views 4 now, cheers all.

BusinessRe: Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) by olat(m): 6:43am On Feb 17, 2006
Very interesting comments here, from my little experience in the financial industry in Nigeria (I have worked with three banks in the last 5 years). I'll like to submit as follows:

1. That the idea of Transcorp is good for our economy. To create a world class, Nigerian company with a truly Nigerian brand as a major international player.
2. Check the list of the Directors- Dr. Ndi Okereke (Whether u like it or not, she has given Nigeria, a wonderful reputation abroad with her success at the NSE. Fola Adeola (This is one man that has given Nigeria, probably the best reputation in the banking industry-esp modern banking:Guarranty Trust Bank is probably the only bank in West Africa thats being studied as a model bank at the Harvard University. Tony Elumelu, this guy is probably the most aggresive banker in Nigeria-just see the way he took over UBA; UBA is now the largest bank in West Africa, its not a hype, 427 branches-No bank has beat that, atleast not 4 now. Odimegwu, ofcourse Guiness Nigeria is the most successful Guiness outlet in MEA (Middle-East, Europe and Africa) - Guiness is probably the highest profit-making company in Nigeria. Aliko Dangote is probably the most successful industrialist in Nigeria, no controversy! Ibru? Everybody knows that the Ibru group of companies is the largest group of company in Nigeria maybe after MA (Mike Adenuga group).
From the above, u 'll realise that from ab initio, this pple r already controlling our economy. What transcorp is only doing is to harness their synergies along with our 'excess crude oil' to give rise to a 'Mega monster' conglomerate of companies. Where we can benefit, as an individual/entity, they 'll sell shares please buy. They are currently doing PPO (Private Placement Offer) @ N6 per share. When they finally comes out, the IPO will go 4 N10. Where to buy? 6th floor of NSE , Lagos Nigeria.
As an SME, u know that there various companies, will give rise to strings of businesses, whoever can think clear, be smart and fast enough 'll obviously gain from this. Always remeber that Nigeria economy is one which is yet to be fully tapped, my humble opinion.

FamilyRe: Housewife or Working Woman? by olat(m): 12:50am On Feb 17, 2006
hmmmmmmmmm, I think is simple. The reality is our family is the most important factor.
My wife works from home - home office (jclord said that) 'cos we r still giving birth. I had struggled to get her
a laptop. She can start designing Websites and making money. We form our company, she manage it
while she play around with our 15month old lovely daughter. She needs her most @ the moment.
By the time, they reach school-age, our business becomes 'full blown', We'll run an SME. Ofcourse, she's very enterprising,
she can live to her full potentials.
As for me, I also share 'quality time' with them in my tight shedules @ work.

We all need to guide the falimy unit system jealously to avoid the problem they have in the West, hope I made a little sense, my humble opinion
FamilyRe: No More Communication And Sex In My Marriage by olat(m): 11:53pm On Feb 16, 2006
Mr. Lekan Ajayi, I feel u. I pray God be with u.
I appreciate one thing, U took a stand like a man. Thats good. Maitain it.
As for your wife, please don't fight her. Kindly pray 4 her and admonish her constant. BE PATIENT.
As for compromise as suggested by Seun.Its good but, you could even take 1 or 2 of those kids and the rest will
come over to u, under the guise of visiting the ones with u. This is from xperience. It happens very well
esp here in Lagos.
If u had taken her in (since u said she's troublesome), worst things could happen.
Be very careful, God 'll be with u, my humble opinion.
RomanceRe: What Is The Right Age To Get Married? by olat(m): 9:26pm On Feb 16, 2006
Ofcourse, this is a very sensitive issue,
After carefully, reading all submissions, I have learnt a lot from other pple postings, yet I feel i should still add my own humble opinion to this great (and dignified) forum.
Let me start by putting my humble self into pix. I am 28. I got married @ 26 (same age with my wife). I must confess to u we are both enjoying every bit of it (including the 'grey areas' - occassional financial difficulties, family intirgues etc).
However, I agree to all the submissions about maturity as in financial independence, emotional maturity, high sense of responsibility, management skills (including home politics) etc. But I think where we need to start tackling the issues from the root. All had to do with growing asap to handle issues on your own.
One basic problem I think we are having is that we get matured rather slowly these days. By 18years, say, after your secondary school education, u should start working to earn money by urself. Even if ur parents still sponsor u, u should start getting ur own independece from there. This will make u start taking decisions independently, facing 'real world' problems and tackling it urself, getting accountable and responsible for your own decisions. This will evidently train u for the future-when u 'll be all alone.
In contrary, I think we lean too much on our parents, that we have problem 'dettaching away from them'.
Having said that, the word, Right does not necessary mean an absolute value(s), there are exceptions. By that I mean, its not everybody that will necessarily marry @ that age (that does not necessarily portend luck or ill-luck). But it need be said here that we should all make a move towards marrying early enough-thats where the real life begins, whether to enjoy companionship or to bear children among other reasons. Thats the hard fact. Don't be an escapist!
By my own little exposure, I think a lady should marry (ideally btw ages 23 and 27) and a man (btw ages 26 and 30). Mark my words, IDEAL. Not everything works by the ideals you have to face the reality. I am neither an idealist nor a realist. I'm a PRAGMATIST. Cheers all members of Nairaland - Where the home and the diaspora meets.

I think loomboc is very right, its all part of neo-colonialism. Unfortunately, we can't do anything to that, atleast 4 now.
But the journey of re-writing the history, I mean taking our own future in our hands have to start now. The chinese
example is a food for thought! Even our (inorganise) political structure, our crumbling economic system and our falling
social/cultural civilisations; all work for the American goal. I hope a few people will understand this and prepare for the struggle ahead. Food for thought!
