KEVIND: Labour should manage the one they see. I appreciate Tinubu for even taking it from 30K to 60K. If its Buhari govt he won't add more than 10K to the 30K. If you talk Buhari will creat a parallel labour union to weaken the body. A SUPREMELY dumb thing to say. |

Who is the Emir of Kano now?
Even Ganduje disobeyed court order when he dethroned Sanusi. That was not to say Abba should do same.
I think both the security agencies and the court are simply acting the script of someone.
As long as we cannot stand for the truth even when it never affected us directly, our society will continue to condescend. |

Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf, has ordered the immediate arrest of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, for creating tension in the state. Spokesperson to the governor, Sanusi Bature, in a statement early Saturday morning, noted that the deposed Emir was smuggled into Kano in an attempt to forcefully return to the palace two days after his removal by the governor. According to the State government, the new Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, had arrived at the palace in the company of the governor, the deputy governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and other top government functionaries at about 1:00am on Saturday. “As the Chief Security Officer of the State, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has directed the Commissioner of Police to arrest the deposed Emir with immediate effect for disturbing public peace and attempting to destroy the relative peace the state enjoys,” the statement said. https://leadership.ng/breaking-gov-yusuf-orders-arrest-of-deposed-emir-aminu-bayero/ |

Politics › Dethroned Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero Arrives Kano by olatade(op): 6:21am On May 25, 2024 |
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, former Emir of Kano, has arrived the ancient city.
The whereabouts of the monarch has been unknown since he was sacked by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Thursday.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) controlled House of Assembly had repealed the law which ex-Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje assented to on December 5, 2019.
After assenting to the law, Ganduje split the emirates into five and appointed Emirs in charge of each.
But while signing the repealed Kano Emirates Council Law, Yusuf gave all the Emirs affected by the law 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair.
He had subsequently announced the reinstatement of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, whom Ganduje deposed in 2020.
The governor issued a reappointment letter to Sanusi on Friday and he led Jumat prayers at Government House, Kano.
But in the early hours of Saturday, Ado Bayero returned to Kano to a crowd of supporters.
The aircraft which conveyed the monarch touched down at the Aminu Kano International airport at 4:30am.
He was immediately thronged by his supporters, who were chanting a verse from Surah Al-Fatihah in the Holy Quoran.
“You (alone) we worship, and you (alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).”
While some others were saying, “God the Almighty will kill your enemies.”
The former Emir, who was fully dressed in royal regalia, did not respond to the crowd as he took his steps consciously.
He later observed Subhi (dawn prayer) at the airport. https://dailytrust.com/breaking-dethroned-emir-arrives-kano/

Labour leader, Joe Ajaero storms out of meeting THE Organized labour on Wednesday stormed out of the minimum wage committee meeting with the Federal Government over the later’s offer of N48,000 new wage.
Recall that the organized labour had made a demand of N615,000 as the new minimum wage and had given the government up till May 31 to conclude negotiations on new living wage.
The Tripartite Committee on New National Minimum Wage resumed negotiations on Wednesday.
Vanguard was reliably informed that representatives of the organized labour comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, were enraged over the government offer.
Professor Theophilus Ndubuaku, who is one of the representatives of the NLC told Vanguard that, “we asked whether the N45,000 is for transport, food, clothing, housing or for what.
“So we just told them that since they are not serious, we better just leave, so we stormed out of the place.”
He said that the government offer was presented to them by the Permanent Secretary, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Office. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/05/minimum-wage-labour-rejects-fgs-n45000-offer/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR0KnN7pSK_wD6WS-4AYQGZ1juRLNtTPGi7LPfmM4tieA_khFZKQHtr3GWI_aem_AaklYPd3Qelz5CRYO0dIoNSLIezbWvqHXzh9RQFc9EfjJyJRE2a7y0ssSRtAYmDiNp8yC3xQ4D_mms0YlRBgicnh
