Many regular posters in this section deliberately post threads that should be in other sections here just cos they feel they'll get more responses. . .so it's not out of place if the moderators move such threads to where they ought to be (many posts or not)
correct, but the mod should try to notify the first poster, instead of using the e mail, i think they can use the "updated topics"

That is the extent of unemployment in Nigeria could take a graduate to.
PoliticsDegree Holders Accept Cleaner's Job In Osun by olawalebabs(op): 2:57pm On Jul 06, 2011
Col. Enibukun Oyewole (Rtd), the Commandant, Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES), has disclosed that Master’s degree holders and Law graduates are among those employed by the scheme as cleaners.
Oyewole, who made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Osogbo, said that the scheme placed much emphasis on the dignity of labour.

NAN recalls that Gov. Rauf Aregbesola had on March 5, inaugurated 20,000 youths as volunteers into the scheme in Ede, near Osogbo.

He said then that idea of the scheme was not just employment, but the need for attitudinal change for youths to embrace the virtues of hard work, humility and discipline.

Oyewole said that although the scheme was designed to provide menial jobs to reduce the rate of unemployment, all categories of graduates applied for the job.

He explained that the scheme had provisions for other areas as greening, traffic control, paramedics, maintenance and rebuilding of infrastructure but it laid emphasis on environmental sanitation for now.

The commandant said that among those the scheme engaged to sweep streets and drain gutters were first and second degree holders including graduates of Statistics and Law.

According to him, the fact that many of the volunteers are well educated has contributed immensely to the success of the programme.

aikuda:
Hey Guys, Please lets not make too much of this banking issue. It is the least of our problem in Nigeria. I agree with some sentiments being displayed by the pro Islamic banks, but I also get the concern of the people against it. I think the problem is lack of education about what the bank is really about, and also the implementation is happening, perhaps, at wrong time. With the issue of Boko Haram threat, it is understandable if people who dont understand the islamic banking cocept to be concerned.

@poster, instead of lumping all southerners into one big basket of Islam-hating hostiles, it is your reponsibility as an educated Muslim (if you are) to educate people on the issue.

Instead of complaining let's have a christaian bank as well, if there is anything like that. Even if Nigeria is a secular state there are core beliefs of people that should be tolerated to an allowable extent by others. For example, in Canada an RCMP police officer is suppose to wear a helmet by law, but the people of the Silkh religion are exempted because they wear turban. Let's be a little bit accomondating to others - that is what secularity truly means.
some people are not just ready for objectives education or enlightement

As always with NL, unserious element will always turn good thread to play. As for me. in the history of the yoruba, the suppose woman leader we have, we know what her end is (iyalode Efunsetan Aniwura ibadan), that knock out HID, As for Papa Fasoranti, Baba is too old and the right connect he doesn't posses, For now, if there should be any "Leader" that shoild be political, since we all have traditional leaders alredy. Am sure you all know who qualify for that. Wait a minute, if Afenifere still in exitence or what the ox about leader. is it a case of leader without authority. Abeg, let's all be leader to our family
