Dry pepper varieties
|
Price update as at 11th of November, 2016. Prices stabilises and stays between 27.5k -29k. Except you are buying to retail, it may be wise to stay off the market now. Speculators may have shifted ground to other commodities with near instant price appreciation Peeled egusi still N400/modu generally in nasarawa and N450/modu in Maraba and abuja axis. Currently N350/modu in Niger but in small quantities Black Egusi at N150/modu |
soterslove:I hope we are all referring to the same bag size and varieties |
KpagoGIN:Sesame season is just about starting though it may be better if you pchat @dav8id, haven't seen him here in a while |
simeontos:Bank Guarantee:BG If you have the financial muscles, you can also do delivery before payment. However, most of those clients delay payment, that's if they dont end up swindling you |
Tyche:Some commodities look very strong in the open market. Playing with price differential in diverse markets may help. Sometimes there is a margin which can be turned over conveniently. Maize and soya have been a surprise for me |
Tyche:13k is fair, was 16k in nasarawa last year. |
soterslove:Thanks. Was in Kaduna today and prices were between 18-21k for three different varieties of chilli. Will try to upload later. Think ginger season is also very active so go get yours stored. All pix to be uploaded later |
kindmman:Replied you. However you may choose to wait till next season except you are ready to hold long term |
I am compelled at this point to make a cavaet. I am not responsible for losses incurred by actions taken from assumptions made from this thread. Neither am i entitled to any or part of your profit I am also not liable for transactions made via proxy or through contacts i have given out, without expressly informing me before transacting I solely bear responsibility for only transactions or purchase originating via transfers into my account which can be traced and documented I have been fair in all assessment of commodities and price range/timing given and i have often given out probable markets of purchase for intending investors Like indicated earlier, the commodity markets has it's own positives and negatives. There is a price attached to experience which is what i offer and place a premium on. I do not guarantee price increase/time range as the market is dynamic Guarantee is only given on annual investing which has a fixed interest per annum regardless of market indices. |
We welcome the arrival of sesame and dry pepper in trickles, hopefully prices will dip before the end of the month. Sorghum and rice are available in some states as well. Maize should be available in most states by now though prices have started going up As it is, we are already in an over priced market so be extremely careful not to go beyond the entry price range. |
For those interested in doing deliveries for grains. Please collect your funds before delivery except where you have a BG from the company We are in a recession and i have heard stories that touch. Better to have your goods unsold than sold for free |
Monday prices dipped to 26k but went up to 29k yesterday. Price interchange will continue for a while as more commodities hit the market. Other prices remain constant. N150 per modu for black, N170 per modu for white and N400 per modu for peeled |
AgroZat:Location in ibadan or valid address please |
auxyn1:Scheduled to be in zongwa on Monday |
auxyn1:Meant pesticide so you are good to go. You can dispose of first batch in Dec/Jan and hold the rest till Feb/March. Bulk buyers however offer lower prices than the open market |
Olayimikami:Think i blundered there. That's 50 tonnes, let me have a location and i can revert. Better to reduce it gradually and retain only 10-20max for the long haul. |
auxyn1:500 is just 5 tonnes. Provided the pricing is right, one client can pick it up. If you have difficulty though, do let me know and i will try to source for a buyer I hope you have treated the maize? Your location also influences your capacity for prompt sales Of all three though, soya seems the least purchased in the open market. |
Price update as at 28th of October, 2016. Egusi prices dipped further to stay at the 27k- 29k bracket, it is expected there will be a reverse soon. I will advice for people to hold instead of going into panic mode. Commodities prices saw a reverse last week and i expect egusi to do the same. Price of black remains steady at 150/ modu and peeled @400/modu. |
Sorghum It is a genus of numerous species of grasses, important as a food crop and is the fifth most important cereal in crops grown worldwide. It is also one of the most important cereal food in the north It has a multifarious usage which spans the brewery industry. Nigeria is currently the largest producer in West Africa and a world leader in food grain sorghum production It is sparingly grown in Nigeria in the north western zone. Before now, it was basically used as a grain primarily for human feeding. However, with the high cost of maize, it has become an essential alternative to corn in feed formulation. This year, we may experience a growth in the price of sorghum if maize prices hit the roof. Majority of the users if these commodity are in the livestock sector. Current price is 12-16k a bag in katsina and environ. Appreciates to 20-25k every year. Prices differ based on seed quality |
soterslove:Dry Pepper is a commodity which is well used in the northern and south western zone. It is primarily used as a chilli for spicy hot meals. Currently, pepper is out but needs to be properly dried before it can be bagged for processing. The bagged pepper are stored in their dry state. It can either be sold in that state or grinded and sold as grinded chilli Prices come as low as 15k for the industrious who believe they have the capacity to dry themselves while dry ones have entry prices of 22k-28k depending on the source and the quality Prices go as high as 45k depending on demand and fall back as the peak period arrives. Likely exit this year may be around the 30-38k bracket Note that not all dry pepper have excellent demand and some will do better in certain geographical zones than others |
soterslove:Apologies. I have been busy but schedule much better now. Just got back to my base in Keffi, Nasarawa this morning. |
obashiakpu:I am unaware of any whatsapp group here. However if you have any request, it can be addressed by the house |
Carmal90:Ganmo/Amoyo has a market. Think its a monday or friday market. That's the closest to you. Not sure what the prices will be like though. General prices are between N130-N160 per modu. Depending on modu size, a modu should weigh approx 1.5kg 68-75 modu should fill a 100kg bag. |
soterslove:You are welcome sir. I have absolutely no idea about garlic, pepper is out but not yet dry. Will hopefully finalise our session on all commodities include dry pepper this week. |
Carmal90:State your location and i will try to give you a proximate market. That's to the where?? Didn't get your "how??" @pointmod: you can pchat or call. |
As earlier indicated,i will be delivering yams to lagos so intending clients do not necessarily need to come up north. As a followup to that, i am currently in lagos setting up the modalities for it's workability. I will also take out time to meet investors who had earlier indicated interest in the agro value chain but distance was a constraint. Hopefully i will be in for the next one week in order to setup the current location and delibrate on alternative locations. Orders for yam will be taken from second week in december and deliveries will only be initiated from 1st week in january. Current location is in the Ejigbo-Isolo axis As they say in lagos, eko o ni baje...... |
Yam Yam season is on as you may have seen so many threads about that on nairaland. Your intention in investing in yam is to make the most profit within the least period in the least stressful way. While buying yam now may be cheap, yam will be readily available from now till earlier february though cost may appreciate marginally upward. Buying now means you really cannot guarantee a margin between now and february except you are retailing immediately or already in the biz and want to turnover your cash. The other disadvantage of buying now is that the yams harvested now are not mature enough to last the 4-6 months duration which guarantees profit. You are more likely to lose 50% of your stock before february if you buy now and that is even with ample care Anyone who advices you to buy yam now is either misinformed or just trying to cash in on immediate sale. I have always said it and will repeat it again, buy only what you wish to consume or can sell before january if buy now. If you wish to stock up for future sale, buy from late December/January and thank me later when you reap the reward. Note that varieties also influences the storage duration of the yam |
pointmond:First, i don't think you should agree to "any terms and condition", some will only leave you at a lose. Always read through before signing or accepting any deals. Secondly, yam may be available but this is not the best time to buy as produce will get bad before off peak period. Will say more about that later tonight. Beans is not available until november in most zones That leaves you with only rice and maize for now. Given the capital you wish to invest, i will suggest you do maize. |
Price update as at Friday 21st of November. There is a revert in price as growth rate slows due to entry of alternative commodities. Price of bags hovered between 28k- 31k in nasarawa market. Price of unpeeled per modu at Gunduma market still N170 per modu for white and N150 per modu for black Peeled egusi remains flat at N400 per modu. We may continue to experience a slow growth rate until maize and rice which are new harvest exit the market |
Rice. Never have we had such a time when we had so much dependency on own local rice. For long, our consumption has been satisfied by imported brands which are largely polished and have been stored for long periods While the governmental policies may not have favoured some other products, rice has been a major beneficiary in many ways Grown well in the northern central zone and sparsely in the northern eastern zone. Growing up, we might have had of Nupe rice which we were discouraged from largely due to the number of stones in then. Let's not also forget to celebrate our specially grown ofada rice in the south western region of the country. Technology has brought about lots of improvement and our local brands are much better, stoneless and of different varieties. I dare say they are also more nutritious than most of the brands imported. Varieties available include the 1. Long Grain 2. Brown rice 3. Tiny seeds/Short Grain Aside the marketability as a staple grain, it is also processed as tuwo for the average northerner and for the adventurous southerner. While the current price may be high, new harvest have started trickling in and prices may soon crash, at least for a while. A bag of unprocessed paddy rice currently sells for between 11k-14k. Processed local rice currently retails for between N350-N450 per modu depending on the seed quality/variety with a modu averaging 1.5kg. |
