Politics / Re: Oyo State Governor Ladoja Impeached At Last by Olorididan(m): 2:41am On Jan 13, 2006
angry angry angry angry angry angry

First things first... don't let nobody be decieved as to ongoings in Oyo... its not about good/bad governance... Its about politics... and not just politics... POWER POLITICS.. (the type that got Bill Clinton)... wasteful, pointless conspriratorial politics that serves NOBODY cept the people behind it.... In this case "... I PUT YOU THERE... YOU'RE NOT DOING MY BIDDING... I REMOVE YOU FROM THERE..." PURE AND SIMPLE!!

From the little I know of Ladoja he was and has been an Oil man for a long time... He made his fortune a long time ago outside of Government and Politics and then proceeded to use the proceeds to fight the military to a standstill. He's a technocrat (never mind the accent, he's well educated) and the I'd imagine his ideas of developmental politics went against everything Adedibu and his handpicked legislature (whom together couldn't put togeher one line of credible policy to save their lives) stand for. UNDERSTAND SOMETHING PEOPLE... THE MOST DANGEROUS PEOPLE ON EARTH ARE IGNORANT PEOPLE (NOT ILLITERATE)... WHY? BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER!! So no matter what you say to them they feel they know best!

As for this Diaspora CRAP... WHATS WITH THIS!!! I spent most of my youth abroad. Have an education I'm proud of I had the option of been able to work anywhere in the world I chose. I work in Nigeria.. Why? Because I've seen everything the rest of the world has to offer and I KNOW we can match it. The work I do is heavily developmental inclined Project Development... my initiatives...my work...my sweat. If a Project can employ 500-2000 people and they can feed themselves and their families... THEN LET ME SEE ANY LADOJA OR ADEDIBU OR ALAM TRY TO Bleep WITH OUR HARD WORKED FOR, TAX PAYING RIGHTS AND WATCH....!!!

SOMETIMES EVOLUTION IS BETTER THAN REVOLUTION... SOMETIMES THINGS NEED TO BE TAKEN APART FROM THE INSIDE!

So  please enough of this "...I'm ashamed of Nigeria...", "...oh what a country...", "...blah fucking blah blah..." PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE DIRT...COS YOUR COUNTRY AINT GOING TO BE CLEAN IF YOU DONT CLEAN IT UP YOURSELF... STOP FUCKING COMPLAINING AND GET DOWN HERE!!!

Ohh and one last things for all those who think Nigeria full of fools.... NIGERIA'S PROBLEM ISN'T A LACK OF TALENT... ON THE CONTRARY... THE PROBLEM IS OUR ABILITY TO SURVIVE HAVING IT!!

PS. ONE LAST WORD... BRACE YOURSELVES... YOU'RE GONNA SEE SOME SERIUOSLY UNBELIEVABLE S**T GOIN DOWN BETWEEN NOW AND 07.....

In essence your question is one of Comparative European history.. The emergence of European states and how their procedure to statehood and the resultant states differ in nature of those of African states? This is how I interpret your question... please confirm or otherwise and then I'll try to give you something... smiley

Family / Re: I'm Attracted To My Cousin's Ex-Girlfriend by Olorididan(m): 2:50am On Jan 12, 2006
ATTRACTION is a MUTHERF**KER... and many peeps don't know what U're dealing with, what it is and what to do till they've been there. I was once in Ur shoes! worse the attraction was so mutual it was CRAZIE!!! -and they were still together. What'd I do. I RAN! AVOIDED HIM/HER/THEM. And that was/is the only thing I told/tell myself... RUN!!! In fact I still run from her coz (tho they seperated now)- U know U've met chicks before U know U might not be able to control urselves!!

The situation may be different for U. With me everyone knew her with him. Soundz like that aint the case here. My advise- First check to see if its mutual... if it is then ask yourself all the other questions... if they check out... FEEL OUT UR COUSIN..... THEN take it from there...... It aint easy but good luck... undecided
Romance / Re: I Married My Girlfriend Because She Got Pregnant by Olorididan(m): 2:21am On Jan 12, 2006
I think Kandy has the most important point here.... Do you LOVE HER I think U also need to ask yourself a lot of other questions. Are you married to her simply coz she got pregnant? Do U think U could be happier or could someone else make U happier? How much of her real self have U discovered since been married to her? Do U find that U are more or less compatible with the person she is now? Does she LOVE U? Does she know HOW TO LOVE U (this is very important- lots of peeps claim to love someone but many don't actually KNOW HOW  to loe that person, coz-face it- peeps want to be loved in different ways). Ask yourself a lot of questions, coz at the end of the day it U and HER and NL don't live with U... smiley. Best of Luck...

Culture / Re: Questions About Nigerian Culture And Religion by Olorididan(m): 4:46am On Jan 10, 2006
Hi AbbeyMarie and friend(s)? Glad you wish to know about Nigerian Culture and Religion... You have so many questions one can't answer all at the same time. I noticed that many answers given above are misconceptions of our own. For example the real reason why twins were left out to die (and this only happened in the Eastern part of the country and is not practiced anymore) was that it was widely believed that only animals had offspring in multiples, thus the twins or triplets or whatever should be left in the wild for the animals to whom they belong to collect them/their spirits... the conception was that their bodies had somehow erroniously traversed from the animal realm to the human.....

Also note that Nigerian (indeed as in many parts of Africa) Culture and Religion are one and the same thing. A large amount of cultural activity is of a religious nature and vice versa, and for practitioners of traditional religions (existing from thousands of year ago and so long practiced before Christianity or islam was introduced) this remains the same to this day. I can give you  many REFERENCES for the type of questions you are looking for answers to, but a single EXCELLENT one comes to mind....  read INFINATE RICHES by BEN OKRI... It will give you a very good idea of the interaction and inter-relation between Culture and Religion in modern day Nigeria (It may read like a fantasy but much of what is contained therein is in priciple spiritually/culturally tangible)... Happy reading and Good luck in your knowledge quest....

By the way on a personal note, Im a christian as are many Nigerians.... you may wish to examine concurrent similarities our cultures and religions have with western/asian relions and culture. An example... in Yoruba traditional religion God the Creator (ELEDUMARE) has a son (ODUDUA) whom descended from the heavens...... Shall look in from time to time wink
