Mizzfy: He told me 2 years, I want to assume that is 18 (duration of course) + 4 = 22 months. I could ask him for the end date if you want to know. The normal process is the course end date written on your CAS + 4 months (normal schools) or 6 months for schools under the pilot scheme. |

Onyebuenyim: Affordable is relative. A student saying he wants to pay fees of £9000 for MSc could be (just maybe) he/she was given discount or scholarships. It is very difficult (not impossible) to get post graduate studies in UK for £9000 without scholarships and discounts. However, read below A student in Coventry called me 2 months ago to help with his form and I was shocked when he told me he would be going to a school called Newcastle college and the school fees for international student was £8,975 or there about (Less than £9000). The program is MA business management, 18 months program with optional 6 months work placement (June intake). If someone had told me one could get a school less than £9000 for 1 year in Uk for post graduate studies without scholarship or discount, I would have argued. so imagine full 18 months for just £8,975? You can check the school out. I must be honest, I don't really like the school but hey that is what he could afford. Also he got 2 years visa which gives him lots of options on how he could stay in the UK afterwards or move out to another country. If you ask me, it was a strategic move for him as a hustler. He got his BRP about 3 or 4 weeks ago and he has started attending lectures. 1 Like |

Divaville: Oh yeah, some schools are exempted (those on the pilot scheme; over 20 universities in UK). If you applied to such schools, you don’t submit any of the documents I listed previously except specifically requested by the home office. Students going to such schools, once they get their CAS, their visa is ALMOST guaranteed and they get 6 months extra on their brp. P.S I think the scheme is just for masters students applying to those schoools. |

babarexo: All documents listed on your CAS should be submitted. Please make sure you do not omit any when submitting. It is better to submit extra than submit less. Read through your CAS very well, there is a section where it will say "Evidence Provided" All the documents listed in that section of CAS must be submitted to the embassy + your statement of account. P.S: If using parents account, you attach a letter from your parents and your birth certificate. |

valentinebolade: Ask this question on the Canada thread. No need to panic, normal levels with Canada applications (takes time). Did you do online or paper application? If it is paper application, link it online and monitor to see live updates on your application. That being said, you should get a response before the end of this month because schools resume next month. P.S If your application has exceeded the normal processing times, send them a message ASAP. |

Scottiemi: Calm down you will get your visa, it is a normal mail message if they need more time to act on your application. Once you are sure you submitted the documents listed on your CAS and your SOA shows enough money, you will get your visa. Instead of panicking, start thanking God in advance, get foodstuffs and pack your loads. Uk student visa is 95% sure once you answer all questions honestly and submit the right documents. 1 Like 1 Share |

Irenenwaka: some people show statements without where the money came from. For example, if they transferred 10M into your account on the 3rd of July, you print out from the 4th of July and count your 28 days. Or print out from the day the money was sent to your account. Truth be told, either way, you will get your visa. Personal opinion, I prefer the former (they don't start asking unnecessary questions). 1 Like |

Phocusjosh: Hello bro, congrats on your Canada student visa and your fully funded scholarship for study in UK. what I am about to say might not be a popular opinion on here, I would say it regardless. We need balanced inputs before making life decisions. Please DO NOT consider money alone, always think long term. You may pay money for your studies in Canada but the prospect of getting a guaranteed 3 years post study visa for an 18 months program in Canada with the option of getting a PERMANENT RESIDENCY, in my opinion, should not be overlooked just because you got a fully funded scholarship in Uk with no guarantee of a job even with a good course and school. Whatever money you spend on fees in Canada for your masters, you will make that money within 16 months of work once done with your masters. This has nothing to do with running away from Nigeria as someone posited above, it is about getting a foreign experience. Consider both options, think carefully and I wish you all the best. The choice is yours UK is a fantastic place to study. If UK had post study visa, I will recommend ahead of any place in the world. P.S If you already have a job waiting for you or a back up plan (probably business) after studies in Nigeria, please go to UK (take advantage of the scholarship) and forget Canada. 5 Likes |

Ameera2018: If the required sum is still there, you can spend the excess, no qualms. Also, you actually don’t need a letter from the bank to confirm the amount has been there for 28 days (all what the home office requires is bank statement showing the amount has been there for 28 days). The VO can see it by looking at the dates on the statement. However, for first time applicants, do whatever makes you happy. Get all the required documents plus the extras. If you feel getting a reference letter from the bank will put your mind at rest, please go for it. Let them indicate the money has been there for 28 days, you are a good customer and how long you have been with the bank. 1 Like |

Emmaastone: I don’t know why home office has been very slow with visa processing of late with applications from Nigeria. if you have the money, once your CAS is out I would suggest you pay for priority (Summer is always busy with applications for tier 4 visa). It also gives you time to prepare well before travelling and settle on time in UK before lecture starts. |

Apmix: That legal guardian route is difficult but NOT impossible. Have you lived with him before? Has he taken care of your bills? Does he have documents to show such? Was it documented that your parents handed you over to him? You might involve a lawyer who would tell you how to go about it. OR Talk to him to pay all of your tuition fees to the school and then he shouid transfer maintenance funds to your account in Nigeria. If any of the above is too difficult, then you should probably try Canada. Canada accepts family friends as sponsors. 1 Like |

Apmix: Reason why we advise people not to use legal guardian is cos Nigerians hardly document such which then makes it difficult to prove that person is your legal guardian. If your family friend is scared of transferring the money into your account, tell him to open an account in your name for you in the same bank and branch he uses. He should then transfer the money to that account and tell the bank not to allow you access to withdraw the money. Once the 28 days is over plus the period of visa processing, he then takes back his money. I THINK it is possible to do this if he speaks with his account officer. There should be a way around that. Maybe the bankers on here can help out. Please note, the advice I gave to you is something I think (not sure) is possible. |

methy: Had a family friend who finished secondary school in 2002 or 2003 and later got admission to uniben. He dropped out of uniben cos of his unseriousnes and wasted about 11 years of his life. In 2014 (he was probably 28 then) he got admission to a college in Glasgow. I prepped him back then for possible interview questions. And of cos he needed to answer why he would just be going for HND at the age of 28 after graduating from high school since 2003 ( I knew they would ask - no brainier). He told the interviewer HIS truth and justified why he is going now to give education a second chance. He got his visa, spent 2 years in getting his HND, crossed over to UWS, paisley at 300L and graduated with his BA (Hons) just this past week. He even invited me for his graduation but I could not attend. Everyone told him back then in Nigeria he would not get the visa as he was too old and had a gap for 11 years (I must confess even I had fears for him but did not let him know). Today he is a graduate in uk and about to do his masters in September. Your case is even better... you already have BSc, MSc and probably have a job. Please what is the worst that can happen to you? A refusal? I pray the school gives you an unconditional offer. Please happily apply for your visa afterwards. I read your reasons above and makes sense to me. You addressed coming back to the country, reason why you are going for this course and why you chose the school. Please make sure you use your bank statement as this shows your commitment to the passion about going back to study. Lest I forget, the story I shared above, I told my FF back then to fast and pray. No matter how well he prepared or how I prepped him, I strongly believe God had a role to play. please pray as well. Peace be with you. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Mizzfy: what is your bank demanding from you? 2 proof of adresss? if YES, then you will need your NIN0 and a letter from your international department confirming your adress. I also think it is possible for international students to open accounts without NINO with some banks. When an International student provides their passport, BRP and a student status letter (or a letter written to the bank on your behalf) from your school which confirms your home address. 1 Like |

Some people Re just too greedy. A trained nurse in the UK earning good salary still involved in trafficking ladies? She is even a citizen o..... chai I also see some Africans who migrated to UK doing drugs and scam and I am like WTF. Work hard and you will make money (better pounds) legally. Nah, they refuse to work. They want fast money. Some people are just criminals from birth and cannot change even if they were earning billions a month. 36 Likes 1 Share |

fizzile: My boss, £8,000 for PHD in Uk would be very difficult but not impossible. He would need to search and search, he might probably get discounts or scholarships. It also depends on the department (fees for school of business differs from that of school of sciences). Although I would say the person should get ready between £10,000-£14,000 to get more options in UK for PHD. |

Irenenwaka: Are you saying university or you saying College that gives HND? And are you talking euros or pounds? I know of colleges that collect £5,500 -£6,000 but these are colleges that give out HND or HNC certificates. If you are talking of universities or colleges that give BSC/masters, I strongly doubt there is any in UK that can give you for less than £8,000 (pounds sterling) except you are given a discount or scholarships ...... |

@irenenwaka, Hello dear, please remove your mail from your post so that fraudsters don’t spam your mail with messages. Also, I moved to the UK a long time ago before they even started this whole interview for students. I never experienced it personally. However, I have many students (some family) I relate with on a daily basis here in UK, I even manage a house for my brother solely occupied by students. masters student currently occupy the house in Glasgow. They came here in January. I would also ask them the questions they were asked. Like I said before, these questions are so repetitive and they focus more on course of study and accommodation. There is nothing to worry about. Later today, i would post possible interview questions on here so that others can benefit from it as well (I would not send to your email). I also think some students have posted their own questions here, you can scroll back to read. God bless you. 1 Like |

Mizzfy: From my own understanding, a TB certificate is a TB certificate wether for work or tier 4 (well I don’t think the home office differentiates it). The certificate is valid for 6 months...... so you are in the best position to know if it would have expired by September. |
