You are ignorant, I repeat you are ignorant. Stop claiming ITK.
I learnt from experience not claiming I too know as you have thought.

It is time for you to learn too. Experience is the best teacher. I am just sharing my experience.

It seems you are just growing up to learn, you still have a better years ahead of you to learn.

But if you have failed to learn from experience then you will be considered foolish.

since a referee is some one that know u ,character wise, was I wrong by using by husband and father?
Officially is not acceptable solely to eliminate bias and all organizations I have came across will not include your family and friends to provide references for you.

All organizations will indicate people they want as referees and it varies based on their policy.

Many big organizations carried out what is known as reference check of the referees you have provided.

That's why the form required your referees to affixed their passport and attached copies of their official ID card.

The form also warn referees not to support applicants if s/he does not know the applicant worthy of good characters and moral attitudes

nawa o..Biko the one we printed ...is it guarantor or referee form?
Very simple answer. The title RefForm.pdf of the form indicates the type of form it is.

For employment and education, referees are required not guarantors

For financial asset, guarantors are required not referees

Your ignorance is appalling.
What we have in the sight is guarantors form not referee form as you have wrongly prescribe.
Please don't used abusive word on me. You need to work on how to differentiate from your left to your right before you should challenge me.

You don't even know that the form you downloaded after you locked your data is titled RefForm.pdf

Bros... Those two are different.... Can't you see you are being asked of your relationship with the refree on the portal? So if my local government chairman is signing for me i should put 'our chairman' on the relationship space?? Can't you see even principals and rectors can sign the form for you, what is your relationship with those? Abeg no dey form sabi n misinform others..
There is no form that referee is requested and they won't ask of your relationship with your referee.
If you don't understand your relationship with your referees then how do you expect your referees to express their relationships with you.
Of course you must have relationships, something that ties you and your referees.

Ok
A referee is someone who knows you better and who can provide clearer picture of who you are in the sense of moral attitude and character.

A guarantor is someone who pledge something tangible on your behalf as a refund in case you default an official agreement.

I think you have clearer idea of roles both play on your behalf.

One provide support that you are either of a good attitude and character or not.

While,

The other one pledge something tangible to support you in case you default an agreement.

. My brother, you are misinforming people. A referee is different from a guarantor. A guarantor is someone that can handle indemnity, a referee is not meant to do that.
Please before you quote me wrong, then you should be sure because I don't like to be challenge under lack of understanding. The form you downloaded was what?

Go read more on who is a guarantor and who is a referee before you challenge my credibility and knowledge.

Well,I choose my father who is a civil servant and my husband who is a banker as my referee with their home addresses and i hv locked and printed out the forms, waiting for screening. So I don't think a referee holds much relevance as a guarantor does. Those hammaring that a referee should be a police officer or whatever, I disagree with u.
There is nothing like guarantor's form rather we only have referees and referee's form.

Meanwhile, there is a big difference between referee and guarantor. Their roles and where they are needed also differ.

The importance of referees can't be undermine the way you have just did.

Once again, nothing like guarantor's form it is referee's form and it is the most significant part of the application.

can one change the referee on the guarantor form from the ones already filled in the portal??
Of course you can, but I will advice you filled the referees that will filled and endorsed your downloaded referee's form.

This will give you upper chance of being considered for physical screening.

Everyone is qualified for the few numbers of positions, only the referees will give upper chance of being considered.

Before you locked your data, first seek for referees that will fill your referee's form and collect their details to complete your application.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: How To Apply For Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Recruitment 2017 by Olowozain: 3:51pm On May 25, 2017
More insight: Referees

Analysis shows that you are expected to provide referees minimum of two that will matched the same requirements from the referee's form people mistakenly called guarantor's form.

Names, emails, phone numbers and addresses should be provided during the application.

The addresses will indicate whether or not the referees matches the requirements from the ref.form.pdf. E.g Nigerian Police Force, Imo State Command, No 20, Imo Road, off Police Headquarter, Oweri, Imo State.

So filling referees that doesn't matches the requirements might hinder candidates to be selected for physical screening when you will be required to come with downloaded ref.form.pdf that has been filled and endorsed by your referees and their pictures affixed to the form.in addition, the photocopies of their official I'd card must be attached.

The strength of your application lies on who so ever you filled as your referees.

. This one weak me o cos I made that mistake too.
People are taking the recruitment process very serious as if all rules must be complied before you can get the offer.

Rules that is being broken from the top. Ordinary citizens are keeping the rules sacred.

Either multiple or single applications, just create a perfect application and wait the outcome. Nothing is sure except death.

Remember rules are already broken from the top.

We are broadcasting disqualification as if you are not disqualify you already gotten the job, but nobody care to challenge the people in charge how to solve all the itches applicants are facing.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: How To Apply For Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Recruitment 2017 by Olowozain:
Just an insight: Break the rules when it is necessary

Someone registered with HND instead of Bachelor degree and you advice him/her not break the rule of multiple registration.

S/he is already on the losing side because s/he has no HND certificate when given offer.

The better option is to break the rule and see what happens next. Nobody here have an idea of how the rules will be applied.

I doubt if they have better programmers and the analytical techniques to detect multiple registration. All applications might be treated separately.

Someone make an erroneous mistakes that can hinder his or her application progression and you guys advising not to break the rule.

A good system will set up online application support team to help applicants update their applications and help find solutions to series of challenges like passport not uploading, secondary school records not saved, applications refuse to locked etc.

Break the rules when you are already on the losing side of being considered for selection.

The system is not helpful, so don't trust their threat of multiple applications because the system itself is not perfectly organized to detect multiple applications. They are too lazy and have no time to detect multiple applications.

Attention Please!

I just want to remind us of what we already know.

9% of #5Million per annual interest rate is #450,000

Maximum of 5 years repayment.

Then a lender would be paying #1,450,000 per annual (repayment plus interest)

To me we just have to chose wisely, a highly profitable business so that we can be covering expenses servicing debt and at the same time management expenses cost, tax expenses cost and insurance expenses cost.

Be careful before you go into debt!

Chose a highly profitable business!

#1,450,000 is not a small money to generate annually after when other expenses have been covered

It is very easy to start but take a lot of hardwork and God's grace to successfully repayment (servicing debt)

Jethrolite has love to have his inclass training with EDC facilities.
But I don't think Delta state would be coming to Lagos for their inclass training.

I would have really loved to go to EDC but I am in delta state I wonder where I will be sent to when invite comes.
This actually depends on your business location.
If your business location is in south west, you could be sure of EDC.

Where is your proposed business location?

This guarantors stuff is making a lot of people to get tired of the program after an enthusiastic start, people are now getting fed up, not impressed and that was where FG/BoI got it wrong.

This program was a continuity of a grant, so why making it difficult for people that are just starting up. Have they forgotten that some are grade one orphans that have nobody in this world who could stand for them?? I have more than 4 capable guarantors but my opinion is that this guarantors thing is a set back to the mission and vision of the YES-P. I wish I could have one-on-one interaction with the management of YES-P and every other similar Empowerment Program

But instead of getting fed up and tired and quitting, why can't we seek for solutions??
Let come together and design a workable solution.

I believe FG/BoI would later realize when the percentage of successful applicants that qualified for loan is very lesser to those who got the loan. I don't believe that more than 20% would have the loan which is a set back that is caused by FG/BoI useless guarantors principles.

They must be accountable not only to themselves but to the general public as well at the end of the program before they could embark on another one.

I would be watching...

But before then express yourself with tweet on @BOINigeria @GovNigeria #EliminateGuarantors if you support removal of guarantors

Be Extremely Patient:

Compromise is a choice, not a sacrifice. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Take the time to appreciate the journey and understand how things work.

Most people are too anxious to get their desired results and thus start to make bad decisions as they go. One thing is certain: the journey will be filled with unexpected outcomes that you may not be prepared to deal with.

Don’t let this get you down, but keep your head up and respect the process and where it takes you. You will learn a lot about your threshold of risk and ability.

Equally, you will learn that many doubters are ready to stand in your way and may attempt to bring you down; this is when the ride gets uncomfortable.

Constantly re-evaluate those with whom you are sharing the journey (i.e. your inner circle).

Make Work/Life Balance a Priority:

No matter how smart, passionate, or focused
you work, without balance we are all
susceptible to burnout. Mind, body and soul
must be properly aligned.

Take the time to Make Work-Life Balance a Priority: It will give you greater clarity of thought and help you keep things in perspective.

Successfully converting an idea into a reality is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself so that you can reflect upon the mission at hand.

Always be aware of what you are attempting to accomplish. Don’t overwhelm your mind; give yourself some breathing room and allow your creativity to expand.
