BlueRayDick:Respect Sir. The system wins again, now the governing elite have succeeded in dividing the youths whose unison had them running scared with tribalism, now who holds them to account? Bro start working on your JAPA moves jare... |
airmark:Bro, these assertion does not add up... We have never had this dimension come up in our discussions here which have been very intense in in the last 3months... @Larride, @Raumdeuter @Oasis @GloriousG any other APC person privy to the existence of such plot by Igbos to take over Lagos and dethrone the Oba of Lagos? I believe it sounds ludicrous especially seeing these are yoruba candidates. |
airmark:So you mean to tell us that voting GRV as bonafide lagosian as any means Igbo taking over lagos whilst voting Sanwo Olu is Yoruba Project? Bro it is possible that these people are feeding you with false info or their own bias views; cos the only significant event that rised the tempo of Lag Governorship election was Obi LP winning lagos in presidential, prior to that GRV was a non factor, the gov election was a shoe-in for Sanwo Olu.. All these tribal ish heightened after the presidential. And we have the gall to call out southie as being xenophobics; when our children start getting the usual go back to your country even though the Abroad is the only country they know - we should remember these periods as well, what happened at the weekend is despicable - what is bad is bad; I shudder what could have played out if an full Igbo person contested instead of GRV. |
izzou:90% of these thugs are not lagos indigenes, na dem dey give lagos bad name; how can you profile people by tribe to be allowed to vote; am so disgusted... Rigging and all manners of atrocities are happening in this election period, but am afraid that of Lagos stands out due to the Tribal slant... Tinubu and Sanwo Olu failed on this one; drm suppose win GRV based on normal so this extra magii is not needed. Tinubu as a leader should have come out and douse these Tribal tension, that Idiot MC is from Osun oo. |
larride:Rightly said, e get reason why we have saying to know the child of whom you are, our parents demand good behavior from us - instead what we have now is children of the well heeled doing too much knowing they would most likely get away with it; If my family know am in a government role - dem suppose behave... else I will make an example of them, that was an expectation from Buhari - lead by example as a no nonsense man. If as president he allows his Nephew to be imprisoned for crime, you think everyone in his close circle or goverment wouldn't behave? Tone from the Top matters a lot in leadership. |
Spy360:Anybody still believing that Buhari performed better than Jonathan is being untruthful... Jonathan maybe not have performed well, but based on his experience and coupled with Boko Haram challenge and him being a security novice, I would say he is 4/10 primarily becos knowing he doesn't know he allowed people that know to take lead resulting to mostly positive(Amina, Iweala, Adesina & co) with some spectacular failure e.g. Dieziani.. Buhari on the other hand came with Obasanjo level experience and if we are being honest should be compared against Obj 8years tenure achievement (don't bother he does not measure up) he failed spectacularly Ex President, Ex Minister for Petroluem, Head of other Government Agency under Abacha and still he couldn't deliver. What exactly did Buhari do better in 8yrs than Jonathan 5yrs? Rail Jonathan did Abj - Kad although comissioned by Buhari, where is Buhari equivalent after 8years seeing Abj- Kad was constructed within 5yrs, I expected we would have standard gauge/fast train between Lagos -ABJ or Lag - Kad as these should actually take less time to complete, as route exist so less demolition work, planning & Analysis bring an upgrade behold na Lag - Ibadan we still dey. Agriculture: For those shouting Rice Mills - for Buhari, Abeg na wetin Akinwunmi Adesina do na ? Or didn't the Agriculture revolution begin with the policies he implemented under Jonathan? Like BluerayDick said - support your MCM, but please also hold them to account on behalf of people of Nigeria; not providing them with ready made excuses - cos we need a working Nigeria... If Ghana next door is working and improving abeg what is Nigeria's excuse? |
larride:Chairman WHY? Cos Tinubu mentioned in his campaign he was going to remove susbsidy, what best way to go about it than taking the out given by Buhari? Let people put the blame on Buhari seeing that subsidy regime has become a cesspool of corruption and Nigeria can no longer afford it. |
Ibime:No mind dem; seriously it is a rarity to have one name in Naija naa, like say dem no dey attend naming ceremony, Grans will give theirs, Parent will give theirs, Religion Muslim or Christian name sef go dey... I don't understand how grown ups especially Yoruba's can even seeing this as an issue... Only my grandma calls me by my Muslim name which according to our tradition should be my official name but it is not, so if for any reason I become a devout or decide to start using it for whatsoever reason pay then I am now a fraud? |
GloriousGbola:Lagos has money; dem Obasa n co still dey chop. APC cant use the funds no dey excuse on this one; abi why are they promising when dem know that the funds is not there? It would make more sense for GRV to make such promises as he doesnt know the full state of Lagos finances, Oga we are talking of over 20yrs oo? And why is it that when it comes to projects that benefits the masses we start hearing about money no dey? |
raumdeuter:Bro, if GRV will provide an alternative he considers cheaper and achievable let him do it, after all we are talking about 4th Mainland bridge that Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode & SanwoOlu promised and never delivered and there has been varying versions of this bridge proposed still yet nothing, many invested in Ikorodu based on these promises. Anyway sha - I prefer Samwo Olu to win, I wan see wetin LagosBoy wan do for Lagos; thank God for LP lagos; their candidate is young and energetic and ready to provide proper opposition so non delivery of APC Lagos, they should be ready to pack their load. |
chrisooblog:Haba Bros; Ambode Tried; even as an occasional visitor, the guy was a big bold visionary kind of governor, you see that airport road work eeh; even if it just that he did is enough for me to vote him. From MMA to Oshodi previously was not a sight that any serious city should welcome its visitor, he changed that, how I wished he totally completed it and beautified; would mean you could go from MMA to VI and not be confronted with eyesores; most cities have ghettos or eyesores but it shouldnt be what you see 1st upon arrival. |
As a lagosian I like the fact that the current governor is being put on his toes, made to work hard for his re election- and this time around there is no Tinubu to guarantee him victory; so he is taking his case to the people and rightly so. Whilst he seem more matured and cool headed, I think he would win; but I pray the margin is pretty close, cos we need the close competition to further improve service delivery if not once he wins 2nd Term nonsense will begin; but if he knows that if he does not perform during his 2nd term he greatly reduces the chances of his stooge or his party candidate winning next election. Listened to GRV for the 1st today, I admire the guy guts to take on the establishment in lagos no be small thing at age 40, normally when you see such youthfulness it tends to be children of established politicians being careered into such positions - so good on him. |
GloriousGbola:Bros, like I had stated to you previously it is wrong to tag a whole ethic based on the action of a few, except ofcourse you are doing it on purpose to get reactions. There are good & bad people in every ethnic. |
Segedinho:Age & Emotional Maturity does not always go hand in hand, hence I tend judge people by their behavior, not my expectation based on social construct cos we yoruba's say Èéfín ni ìwà. Having said that some of us need to expand our worldview, we are holding ourselves in bondage of Tribalism & Religion. |
raumdeuter:Bro, Yes I am following; am waiting for elections to be over to have proper discussion on the property investment topic, Thanks. |
raumdeuter:Egbon Dayo - Sharp Man, I know you sabi the answer but you be my guy so make I humour you. It is simply because it would be useless; how many Igbo people dey Osun state? That storyline wont sell that omo ale omo Ibo ati awon omo Ibo fe gba ilu. But using it sells in lagos, because of the perceived voting strength of Ndigbo in lagos - also a sort of tribal battle cry to save lagos from Igbos. |
GloriousGbola:Bros we the yoruba's own the right to use Afonja slur, cos we created it.. and infact it is only used in yoruba to yoruba person context, haba bro na our history ooo. Most Non yoruba sef probably have no clue about it origins or connotation... PS - I am not in support of cussing people out, so in no way endorsing it usage. |
GloriousGbola:How can one pander to his dual Identity? With his family identify as Igbo? He is a bonafide lagosian, his Mom is Igbo; It becomes distasteful and Tribalistic when opps use it as a weapon against him; just like we were angry when Obama kenyan ancestry was being used against him in some quarters... |
liveLongNprospa:Big own goal on his part; he should not openly alienate other Yoruba's as they are in the majority cos lagos indigenes no too plenty like that; doubt if we even make up to 10% of the voting population... worse still he is from the lagos Island conclave; we be sey na just diplomacy we dey use rule other larger conclave of indigenous lagosians like Badagry, Ikorodu & Epe. |
Theflint1:Atlast someone gets the strategy? Its distateful. They cannot come at him with he is not a lagosian; if they could they would have as there is an gentleman understanding of Lagos governorship for Lagosians only which am guessing is the reason the more well known and popular Hamzat is deputy to Sanwo Olu. Instead of harping on his apparent inexperience, they choose to push him being Igbo; like Obama being born in Kenya narrative, so Politicians and their minions will always employ underhand tactics but it is upto the general populace to say what we would accept; unfortunately as seen on this thread even amongst young & old educated people tribalism is acceptable to majority; we only scream when we are at the receiving end. |
ibkayee:Why? Is he contesting to be governor of Oyo state 😀😀😀 |
Realmrsean:It is so so distasteful, amongst the supposedly educated ones; why sometimes when our people complain about racism; I go just dey look like our tribalism no worse. Here we have a bonafide lagosian who you can trace his ancestry going back generations being trolled by people who are probably non indigenous lagosians, his main crime is his mom is Igbo; or he cant speak the lingo like a local, like seriously? As if the children we are raising abroad are not gonna be in similar boat... Seems so people cannot help themselves; una sha wan turn this thread to tribal wars... |
raumdeuter:Maybe we should 1st start with ensuring voters intimidation and disenfranchment is reduced cos whilst registration is greatly increased, voting turn out in on the decrease; This hurts democracy; If my son was in Nigeria, I for one cannot allow him or appropriately encourage him to go out on election day to vote when we have people openly threathening people choices when I know his default attitude would be to dare the person... I dont think it is much about fake voters registration figures, I think it is more people's apprehension towards voting, see the numbers from Ikorodu naa; one can easily see that figures sure isnt upto 20% of voting population of Ikorodu. Btw you would have been 10M short if youvhave taken my bet 😀😀😀 Abeg respect Obi & Obidient they turned up😀😀😀 |
larride:Abeg tell your boss that he now has an oppurtunity to build something in Lagos, so that we lagosians can point to something that Tinubu built... cos most bonafide lagosians know he did not do much; and just like you people had disassociated Tinubu from Buhari failures, we cannot credit him with Fashola, Ambode and Sanwo Olu successes. I see no reason why 4th mainland bridge cannot be built in 4years; him don promise you Ikorodu people since 20yrs ago; na just so so plan we dey see; and I personally prefer the original bridge designed with mass transit rail😀😀😀 Time to go buy lands & hold for Ikorodu. |
Donjazet2:Elections in Naija has always been rigged, even America is still shouting rigged election with their exposure diff being majority trust the system. I expect LP and other interested parties now they have a seat at the decision making table to push for legislative changes that would ensure rigging is limited to the barest minimum something PDP failed to do, this gives you want you want. We have created Unicorn coys and a decent startup scene and you can't tell me within a year these guys can't come up with a solution that limits rigging, not these half assed solution provided by Inec. LP and others can also ensure that Mahmud goes, there has to start being serious consequences for failure, this should also include Emefiele. Not sure who has HOR majority; but sure LP has a sizeable chunk in combination with others; the real work starts NOW. It would be a crying shame if you guys fail to seize the moment, do not let APC change or control the narrative; Tinubu govt will be at its weakest point in the 1st -2yrs now is time to push for the deals cos although he won, majority of Nigerians that did not for him. |
nihilistjnr:This is what I alluded to earlier, Obidient shoild be doing a victory lap; with all they have accomplished in just 8months... Are there no adults in the house to help these youths reason? When I saw those UI students clip on the vote count; filled me with joy & Hope 93 vibes. Anyone advising them to go protest is PDP, cos any upturn benefit Atiku and PDP not Labour, imagine rioting to install Atiku SMH. Let the politicians go and protest with their families who have been the immediate beneficiaries, I say this as a youth who witness the aftermath of June12. PDP had 16years to install good electoral procesd & practices they failed, now they are at the receiving end. Nobody should allow any politician use you as weapons for their own selfish battles, e.g. Rivers is WIKE fighting Atiku & ensuring that he doesn't spend time in Jail for his atrocities - cant blame the man, after all its about self preservation. |
raumdeuter:Egbon you suppose take that 15% of total vote cast with me for N5M😀😀😀 |
BlueRayDick:Leave dem jare - even Tinubu sef don admit he lost lagos squarely; no be any games... Like you said it was clearly a protest vote against the man himself; whilst some tribalist are trying to paint a different picture... Like how many Igbo dey alimosho? Alimosho was lost cause Aregbe didn't show up as per normal. Only liars would deny the fact that the margin would have been more for LP without APC intimidation and underhand tactics. In all of these, I expect our politicians to be more considerate and respectful towards the populace; and above all the Youth of Nigeria stood up, gave d middle finger to the establishment without percuniary gains or inducement, yall made even kingmakers work 3x harder to win an election, these is your own June 12, your energy, passion was unbelievable; I never imagine I would witness another June 12 in my lifetime, you all should be proud of yourself. I expect the opinion shapers and influencers to be out there parrotting these achievements, forget the trolling here, in spaces that matter, at very top level of governance, especially Tinubu has taken note. |
Is Obi still coming distant 3rd cos this is a looking like a narrow race. |
BlueRayDick:Leave them to contnue, it is so so nausating, even when their man Tinubu is winning? no decorum. Isn't Ironic - that Tinubu is beholden to the North, cos in reality if hw wins they made him president cos even for his own lagos and Osun him no reach |

cos this is a looking like a narrow race.
