PoliticsRe: $3M Bribery: Otedola Submits Evidence To Police by OluBendel: 10:28am On Jun 13, 2012
Another problem with this movie is that the said monies were marked allegedly by the SSS. Where will Mr. farouk get back the originals from if he has tampered with them? wouldnt the abokis he sold them to have traded with them? let him bring the money to the floor and let the SSS confirm they are the originals. I like this show!!
PoliticsRe: $3M Bribery: Otedola Submits Evidence To Police by OluBendel: 9:46am On Jun 13, 2012
It is obvious the only reason Farouk recanted and admitted to collecting the money is because of the overwhelming incontrovertible electronic evidences against him. Just hoping that in his frantic desperation to exonerate himself, he will unwittingly rope in other prinipal actors in this matter, thats when the plot gets reeaaalllyyy intersting. Its obvious he was not acting alone. We are watching and waiting....
PoliticsRe: I Was Misinterpreted Over 2015 Comment — Buhari by OluBendel: 3:02pm On Jun 11, 2012
Thanks for taking the time to explain yourself General.even if your statements are bound to be misinterpreted oft. You are a great man and a fantastic patriot.but you need to seriously step up on public relations; dissociate yourself from and vehemently call the fanatic boko haram up north to order; No doubt it will be a mountain climb to dislodge pdp from power, but you must seriously start to build genuine bridges accross ethnic, regional and religious divides. It would not be a bad thing to hear you speak a little yoruba,bo or edo, much as you love to be heard in your native hausa language attend some other religions services once in a while, much as you love your religion. You are well loved by the masses up the north (12 million votes is no kids play) but many youths middle belt and down south are supsicious of your motives(am not excluded), mostly because the elites (many of whom cannot win elections fairly in their family meetings) in our society dont want you near power for your puritan beliefs and values, Thus they most often call you names, misrepresent your person, rain down on you, try to wear you down for all they can, thus consiously and unconsiously shapening the opinions of many. You just have to bend a little and be adaptive if you are genuinely keen on getting power from the hawks in the the status quo. Wish you well in your aspirations for a better Nigeria!
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Probe: Otedola Confirms Bribe To Lawmakers by OluBendel: 1:49pm On Jun 11, 2012
Nice One mr. femi Otedola. We need more of these revelations in the public domain. Even though, in Nigeria nothing is genuinely expected to come out of it, esp. with GEJ administration who is scared stiff of dealing with the Nigerian elites( So called big men), at least little steps as these will help purge our society of high level graft in the long term.
And for those calling Farouk Lawan names, do we realy believe in all sincerity that all the probe film shows can ever be without the ever present Nigerian drama factor? do we realy have much of high integrity calibre of pple in NASS? how can the present nigerian system genuingly produce such? do you know how much it cost to run an election in Nigeria? primaries and general? mobilisation and all? how can we expect a crooked system to produce saints? planting corn to reap cassava? As a society we should first put in place a less monetised and militiarised political system, other things will follow. For now we just have to make do with the criminals and rogues leading and probing us and work/hope for the change that will benefit us all in the long run!
PoliticsRe: Yes, Jonathan Has Delivered For His Friends – El-rufai by OluBendel: 4:49pm On Jun 08, 2012
u can take anything away from el-rufai, call him names if it makes you feel good. but certainly no honest mind can doubt his analytical profundity and intelligence.Very much on point mallam!!
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Citizens Are The Problems Of Nigeria NOT The Government by OluBendel: 7:13pm On Jun 04, 2012
In every society and human setting there always is leaders/followers, be it democratic, religious, traditional, constitutional etc. Now,in well evolved societies, these top echelon (elites) make sacrifices for the lower echelons (Masses), these elites are well concious of the need for the survival and growth of that society, they make laws and pursue equality in its enforcements. They fight and bricker amongst themselves when the interest of the society is at stake. In Nigeria, the only time the elites fight among themselves,if they ever do is where they have lost out of a contract, oil block or out-rigged. Never where a school contract, road construction or hospital project is poorly executed (leading to losses in lives). Even when they make feeble attempts at probing themselves, a la oil subsidy/power probes, nothing ever comes of it. Until have more of Gani fawehinmis, El-rufais, Shehu Sanis, Dino Melayes,Wole Soyinkas, Chinua Achebes, Smart Adeyemi's,Keyamos, Dora Akunyilis, Chukwumerijes, Isa salami's (elites who are ready to sacrifice their personal comfort and confront the status quo for the general good of all) our elites will continually manipulate us to believe whatever they want.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Citizens Are The Problems Of Nigeria NOT The Government by OluBendel: 5:26pm On Jun 04, 2012
In trying to be scientific in analysing the problem with Nigeria, We all know that the first step to solving any problem is to properly identify and define the problem, which i believe we the youths have not shown much interest in.
Personally i continue to insists that our problems is neither clearly that of the government nor the citizenry per se; I see it as more of a "conspiracy of the elites" Big Men" in Nigeria language.both within and outside the government. the citizens and government are mere tools in ensuring their survival and greed.
languages as who do you know? who are you in nigeria? where does your father come from? are all pointers to it all.
No society on earth is corrupt free, but the difference is that there are checks and laws in place and enforced to see it is minimised. When you know that if you steal you will be caught and sent to jail, definitely you will not. but in Nigeria only the poor and defensless go to jail. how many politicians are presently in any jail in any part of Nigeria today? search deeply and find out why they are never convicted for crimes, talk more of being sent to Jail...Dog dont eat dogs.Simple!
EducationRe: NUC Will Effect UNILAG/MAU Name Change by OluBendel: 9:14am On Jun 01, 2012
It is an irony that we often times look the truth in the face and turn blind eye to it. This is certainly a wrong way of doing the right thing. and for those who insists on asking what is a name, there is everything in it,except of course in nigeria where scant attention is paid to details. you cannot rename NTA as ANT even if both represent the same initials, or SSANU as ANUSS. MAUL? Mauling what? in the same country where a minister said it is wrong to refer to nigeria as naija? and why sectionalise the whole Abiola idea anyway, if i may ask? what is wrong in renaming the national stadium, eagle square or federal secretariat after Abiola.GEJ should do the right thing and honour abiola properly.Okogie is just protecting his Job!
PoliticsRe: SNG Rejects How UNILAG Was Named After MKO Abiola by OluBendel: 5:16pm On May 29, 2012
This is an opportunity to further strenghten our laws and make it such that the processes for naming public institutions are carefully guided (with legislative assent,if need be) so as not to insult the sensibilities/sentiments of the people no matter how well intended.Naming of public institutions be it schools, stadium, streets, townships etc are expected to reflect accepted sentiments without the acrimony this case is generating.Afterall a stadium is Kano is named after Sani Abacha, despite his deeds, and his people are ok with it, Buba Marwa gardens renamed MKO Abiola garden too.GEJ should carry the citizenry along and show more sensitivity in issues as this, so his intentions are not misinterpreted unduely. My take!

PoliticsRe: Democracy Day: Jonathan’s First Year Report - Leadership by OluBendel: 1:47pm On May 29, 2012
These facts are hard but true.Much as the Jonathan is the face of failed leadership in Nigeria today, Our problems can be summarised into "consiracy of the elite".And Jonathan doesn't seem to be ready to take them on headlong, he rather would rather face the masses by indulging in policies that further impoverish them, such as fuel subsidy removal, electricity price hike etc.even Obasanjo made feeble attempts in fighting these evil conspirators, that is what is responsible for the little successes(even if we dont admit it) he (Obasanjo)achieved.
