What to watchout for when buying Certain Models of Toyota cars.This is the reason why most of these models are resold fast and cheap.

4 Cylinder Camry 2002 - 2006(aka Big Daddy),
4 cylinder Highlander 2002- 2004 and other
cars with 2Az Engine.
Stripped head bolt is peculiar to these models
as from 70,000 miles.Entire coolant suddenly
leaks as a results of 3 head bolts pulling out of
Engine block.

4 cylinder Camry 2007 - 2010(Aka muscle and
Voltron),Corolla 2003 - 2006 and Toyota matrix
They burn oil greatly and oil level need to be
checked severally and topped if need be

1 Mz V6 Engine Toyota Cars: Highlander ,
Avalon ,Lexus Rx300,Lexus Es 300 etc
are very prone to Engine sludge if non
synthetic oils are used.Also their transmition
fail easily when the transmision oil and filter
is not changed on time.

Pls do a proper check when buying Nigerian
used of these cars.

1. Leather seats is not an option for Rx300,it is standard.No Rx with Fabric Interior except a lower version which is Toyota Harrier.

2. No lexus has a steering wheel or Engine with
Toyota Logo.Every thing has the Lexus Logo.

3. Rx300 has five spokes alloy wheel as
standard while Harrier has six spokes like urs.

4. All the side glasses of the Rx300 have lexus
logo and not Toyota Logo.

Vehicle owners who approach the Federal Road Safety Corps for registration without genuine clearance documents from the Nigeria Customs Service will, henceforth, have such vehicles impounded.

President Goodluck Jonathan handed down the directive to the FRSC during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

The Corps Marshal, FRSC, Mr. Osita Chidoka, attended the session to brief the FEC members on the country’s status on the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety (2011-2020).

He later joined the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, to brief State House correspondents after the meeting.

Chidoka said the directive from the President would eliminate the era of fraudulent Customs papers being tendered by motorists seeking to register their vehicles in the country.

He said, “Initially, our plan was that when we see you, we ask you to go back to the Customs. But with the feedback from Mr. President today, that is not enough. We need to hold that car and investigate how it entered into the country without going through the normal process.

“So we will modify the process to include the Customs in that process.”

He said his organisation would continue to work hard to make Nigerian roads among the 20 safest in the world by 2020 in terms of accidents.

The FRSC boss said under his leadership, the organisation’s personnel had increased from 11,000 to 19,000; patrol vehicles from 170 to over 800; and ambulances from 10 to 52; as well as more call centres and increased funding.

Chidoka also assured Nigerians that the delay being witnessed in getting the new driver’s licence would soon become a thing of the past.

A car properly used by the owner will show from the inside too,no person who uses a car properly will mutilate the sound system of a car that has a true millage of just 61k apart from the theft done at the port which would have been replaced if the owner trully maintains the car.

A lot of people doctor odometer readings (Millage).

A low millage with all these conditions has clearly shown that the car has been badly used if trully the odometer readings was not doctored within the short millage.

We have cars with Milage of 180k that everything remains intact(Neat front and rear number plates,sound system, and fresh firstbody with the original paint from the manufacturer )and you will surely not belive that they have been used for over one year in Naja.

Those are the kind of cars that can be bought at such costs.
