Please, I have a vital question.
*Will the App tell you the destination of the rider before going to pick them up. Your present Location might be Agege and someone in Victoria Island request for a ride to CMS
* Will it tell you the number of rider you will be picking per trip
1 NO
2 Yes

Oga this is business and it has to be profitable
Its not about rich against poor
I mean the client is king and he decides but people are different and their is a market for everyone
Its just like saying why go the the shopping mall when things are cheaper in the market
Or why fly to your destination when you can go with God is Good or ABC Transport
Leave am. That's why my cars and many others are no longer on Uber.

Uber can even make it free.

Let uber buy these cars and see if they will take this ridiculous prices.

Commentators always think their opinion is the best, why not go out there and create your own Uber.

You dont want 2005 cars, because you want Uber to remain in the circle of the middle class, the poor will always outnumber the rich in Nigeria, any business model that target only high class, dont last long.

I think Uber reducing the age of the car is the best business decision they have made in Nigeria.

The current pricing remain horrible, but I believe Uber will increase their price soon. Dont forget it was Taxify that started the pricing war.
Are you referring to me or the guy who wrote that epistle?
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by OlugbengaE: 10:04pm On May 11, 2017
Uber will shortly die in Lagos. It's been a long slow death. Taxify will follow. Then we will be back to the horrible experience of negotiating every ride, being cheated, robbed, and having our butts poked by seat springs in cabs in Lagos.

Why are ride hailing apps going to die? Well, it starts with not focusing on the customer experience. Uber has long been accused of focusing only on profits. In Lagos it is no different. The customer experience has been horrible since day 1. How can you be a professional driver whose only job is to use a map to find people and take them places on a map and you don't know how to use a map?

As one of the top Uber riders in Lagos, I have tried over and over. I make it my personal mission to teach each driver how to use the map. I even gave my map reading for West Africans lecture to the launcher for Uber in Lagos and volunteered to hold classes for the drivers.

But nothing worked. Uber shields itself from many things by saying, "They are not our drivers, they are our partner's drivers. That is not an excuse. The end result is that the customer is suffering, and has been suffering for years in Lagos.

So all of the sudden you start losing riders to Taxify. Why? Because you have been delivering a shitty customer experience for 2 years and people are desperate for a better one. Nobody left Uber for the price. They left Uber because the customer experience was terrible. I disputed a cancellation fee the other day because after 30 minutes I got tired of watching the driver drive everywhere but towards me. The response from Uber support was, "As a token of appreciation, we are crediting you the cancellation fee." It's obvious that the complete disregard, even hostility, towards customers goes all the way up the Uber management chain.

So instead of making dramatic improvements in the customer experience like deactivating all drivers with less than a 4.5 rating, and having a mass crash course on map reading, what does Uber do? Drop their price. Great, now you have instantly taken what was a luxury and turned it into a commodity where all that matters is the lowest price. You just destroyed the market.

Today I booked an Uber and the driver called me to say he could take me but not on the Uber app. I would have to pay cash. So I booked a Taxify. When we arrived after driving 20km over 1.5 hours, his fare came to 1,200 Naira. Because of the price war, his fuel cost was more than the fare. This is not sustainable.

So how can Uber save itself? Just like I said, focus on the customer. Stop depending on your partners to train their drivers. They won't do it. Get you hands dirty. Require a crash course in map reading for all drivers. Have secret shoppers and deactivate and retrain drivers that call riders and ask them "where exactly are you?" Instantly deactivate drivers that are rude or have more than 3 cancellations. In a few weeks Uber could retrain many drivers, improve the customer experience and start to gain some customer loyalty that would prevent everyone from going to Taxify.

Taxify needs to do the same if they expect to win in the war against Uber. Fix the buggy app, allow me to use foreign cards, and train the drivers better than Uber drivers, and everyone will switch.

If Neither Taxify or Uber very quickly focus on the customer, they will both die and the only winners will be the horrible yellow cab dinosaurs. Lagos won't be a livable city anymore, so please do something.

we are not fighting. you really don't have to bark at every comment I make.

Uber is just a company. if you choose to drive with the competition, by all means do.

I am all about making money. and I use opportunities when I see them. if a company like lyft comes into nigeria and RIDERS prefer lyft to uber I will consider joining them. they are the only ones known to give uber a run for their money.

taxify has convinced me not.

my personal stupidity and I am entitled to it.

@Romeo3, I like your business model. Making money on Uber is not the point now but how profitable is it? Uber gives you riders at a price below profit margin and you are happy. Don't forget the cars are losing value everyday while the cost of maintaining them are going up. To make profit on Uber now, you need cars manufactured earlier than 2003 or cars without AC.
Exactly, You buy a N3million car today to use on Uber, You are happy you are seeing small money....Romeo3 in 3/4 years time when the car is dead and buried would have enough money to replace the car?

IT WAS TREATED. no sane driver should still be on Uber platform. how long will they give incentive?
Go to their Twitter handle. it is one bad incidence or the other. If i found myself on uber, they will ban me soonest because their riders will hate me for my transferred aggression so i stay off till they reset their brains

it is well. we all don't see life through the same lens. where others see failure some see opportunity.

what will you do if uber raises the prices? promise me that you will give discount to riders.

Uber called me from South Africa asking why i haven't been online for one week. I told them my car is off their platfrom and the girl was begging me to go online. My response........................ NEVER!!!

it has never been about the driver. how many riders will agree to pay 2200 when they can pay 1600?

is taxify more concerned about their drivers and not riders who would bring in the money?

what happens to the drivers who troop in, when riders boycott taxify?

Pls think.
I am sure of they reduce such journeys to N800, which is half, you will collect and say riders are king

Well only Hungry drivers will go online on Uber.
I cant and i will never go online again on Uber.
Open your riders app and request what do you see. NO CARS AVAILABLE NOW.

They need Drivers as they need Riders.
All a rider needs is a phone and some cash
a drivers needs a car probably N3M, phone, spends money on data car maintenance fuel etc

At the end of the day the rider derives value for money spent each time he/she rides
But does the driver get his deserved return on investments?

their business model is not sustainable in the long run.

Uber owns majority of riders and with the stupid increase taxify just did they nailed their own coffin cos uber now became more attractive to riders who are the spine of the business.

taxify drivers are mostly uber rejects. that isn't changing in a long time.
Its obvious you an uber person. I think every drivers/ partners should be happy with this.

Ojodu to Marina Uber 1600
Ojodu to Marina taxify 2200

@Romeo3 is a pure nitwit, i don't need you to quote me cos you are yet to get a car on either Uber or Taxify, so pls work hard to get a life out of failure.

I pity those partners giving you cars to drive cos am sure when you finish the current car you re driving, you will come here to beg for a new partner.

Quote me if you want thunder fire you.
Uber don fail. They fail to realize there are alot of partners who can stay weeks without running their cars on either platform. the only people who have no choice are hire purchase and those on bank loans. My cars are off for good.

Why is development annoying so much that you're still here 5 pages later trying to transfer your frustration?

I used to cross that road and people have died after being hit by cars. That area was an eyesore and it was disorganized for decades.

In a few months, its made safer, cleaner and organized and you expect people to just walk past like nothing happed?

You must be a robot without emotions.

I would advice you to worry more about your Delta state that has almost the same funds as Lagos, far less population and nothing is going on there.

It is quite surprising how somebody who supposedly live outside the country judging from his comment is posting pictures about developments in Nigeria.

A governor constructed a layby a pedestrian bridge and some some adjoining roads within the vicinity and we won't hear word like he was voted in to do otherwise.

Personally, I don't celebrate a Nigerian politician for doing his job. We are so used to mediocrity that when we see something new we jump up like he is doing anybody a favour. And the best any buttlicker will say is, we should celebrate them to do more, like WTF, I pay my f**king taxes to Lagos State govt monthly and he should use it for developments as expectedhuh Why the Fuss!!

I've passed this level please, maybe it is just me!!
LOL,
Have you heard of approval ratings before?
Why do some leaders have good ratings and others bad.
Ratings are based on performance, if you are a good leader, people will applaud you, if you are bad people will hate and criticize you.
Why do politicians or political parties have manifestos, Why do people voted based on their Manifestos?
Why cant the people just vote anybody and expect that will do the same job.
In many companies, there are employees of the month. which are celebrated sometimes with monetary benefits. Why do companies celebrate excellent employees who are already on their payroll? Why cant they say they are already being paid

Based on the level of development, every country has her peculiar problems. When solutions are proffered for these problems , people praise them.

In Ojodu beger, traffic and bad infrastructure were the problems, Ambode solved it people were happy.
In America, Bin Laden was a problem, Obama Killed him and Obama was praised throughout the world.
