Wickedness by CAF. Putting giant nations in the same group is real wickedness
It's intentional, the whole plan of turning the qualifiers to regional was to eliminate the power houses and give others a chance

Not just about earning caps and fading off. But forming a new core. Transition has really gone back over a decade. The qualifiers method by CAF also contributes it own quota. A big issue is repping at the WYC which is one of the most important but now all history.

Well some might bring the Noisy neighbors talk...Ghana that year, but progress should be way vivid than than.

You're right about the structure. It's should be a normal by now. That being said....
A couple of players in the current Super Eagles set up represented at various under age levels so it's not that bad. But we definitely can do better.

As for CAF, I've given up on that confederation. They seem to be getting worse. Instead of them to ensure a qualifier similar to that of Europe at least that will enable the age grade team play during international break but na lie. Worse part is the zone by zone qualifiers, just so that they can reduce spots that'll go to the west African countries and give to the other zones who mostly won't qualify with the precious qualifying format. Las las the Representation at the WYC will only get worse

They are playing to his strengths. He's more comfortable with them than he has ever been with us.

However, I know this may sound unpopular.
But, I think we have an attack problem, it wouldn't be out of place to have Ighalo and Victor Moses back with the team of they are available
.
@bolded we scored 10 goals in four games and we conceded 7 in the qualifiers. That's not an attacking problem but a game management problem. And this has been happening under Gernot Rohr, against Libya we bottled a two goal lead, same against Ukraine. The problem Is not in attack at all but with the coach cool

Osun state Government is building a sport academy. If we can have things like this at least in the six geopolitical zone. It would go a long way in improving our grass root.https://mobile.twitter.com/oluwashina

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Olulong(m):
daveP:
Both!!
The Progression is retrogressive as years go by. It's getting worse than ever before. Especially since that Ezekiel Bala set that Bosso was the coach too or so. Their Lacazette u20 set too. Barely 2 enter the SE/Set. If they do, they fade away shapali. So All of the Above!!
Sir, this happens everywhere. Trent Alexander Arnold is the only player from his under 17 set currently in the English national team. The Akpoguma Germany Under 20 team that beat us has only Brandt and Weigl in the National set up. You don't expect every player to make the step or do you??.

And BTW I repeat the under 20 have done just okay in respect to its purpose (serving as platform for players to enter the nation team).

The Lacazete set that beat us was 2011. Omeruo, Olanrewaju Kayode, Musa, Uche Nwofor, Ramon Azeez, Ajagun all played from the National team from that set and some are still part of the national team. We've seen guys like Ndidi, Moses Simon, Uche Agbo, Shehu Abdulahi from 2013. The only difference btw we and the European countries is that they have a structure and a well functional league, hence they are not totally dependent on Age grade tournaments. But we here if our age grade team under performs, it might spell doom for the national team

Nothing from u20 since 2007. Just vibes and Inshallah!! CAF too not ready either.

In other words, the fine on Auba further proves they aren't ready for serious development of the game on the Continent. In an era u21s are kicking, getting game time at their Clubs....
At bolded, do you mean their performances or feeding players to the National team(which is the main purpose), because for the latter, it hasn't exactly failed

What kind of a heartless grouping is this in the first place? Nigeria, Ghana and CIV are the 3 strongest teams in WAFU B and they were paired up in the same group. These 3 alongside side Mali and Senegal are the best in Africa, as far as football at this age grade is concerned.

So who are the other teams in the other group in WAFU B? Benin, Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso I guess...Nonsense. angry

Nigeria, Ghana and CIV in one AYC group is even a group of death. Talk more of a WAFU B tournament.

Imagine only 1 of Nigeria, Ghana and CIV will be playing at CAF and FIFA youth competitions. CAF should please scrap this nonsense arrangement. It is killing football in the subregion.
I thought of this today. CAF brought this zoning thing to favour the east and southern Africa mostly because the west are always dominating the age grade tournaments. But this our group just get as e be, how do you explain the three biggest footballing countries in the same group

Onuachu is not good enough to lead our front line.
He is not even SE quality. We are only managing him because Nigeria currently is short of striking options.
He isn't SE quality ke??

This guy has already scored 12 in November. Osimhen in his time at Belgium scored 13 in the regular season and the remaining 7 came in the playoffs round/cup . With the way Onuachu is going I wouldn't bet against him scoring more than 30 in all competitions( cup/playoffs included)

We just lack a coach who can get the best out of him

some of these things are arguably. For example, you can't say that Bennacer is 100% better than Ndidi. I think Senegal has the strongest pound for pound overall players on paper followed by nigeria buy team wise, Algeria is 1. Coaching is very paramount in football
I wouldn't pick Bennecer over Ndidi definitely. Bennecer plays as a CM at least in the National Set up. Guiediora plays as the DM. So player for player it's Ndidi vs Guiediora and Bennecer vs Etebo/Aribo

Philosopher1979:
The inclusion of match readers is good.
However according to scorenigeria thet want him to start giving home based players a chance.
They are forcing him to comply with them.
Actually they want to give him assistants who will make him to do their will.
For example someone in nff wants him to use junior Ajayi and some hime based players and they want him to reduce the love for foreign borns
They will make him to do their will without sacking him.
That is clever
The part of forcing players on him is what I'm not in support of that's if it's true o. They are taking a wrong approach to fix the problem. Why not try and improving the league rather than impose players to the national team. Why not try and improve the league at least to something close to the PSL, with the talents we have in Nigeria, or is that to much?. But no na wuru wuru to the answer we go dey find.
