I doubt if Nigerians are ready for that mathematics now.
Football in this country is just on the downward, club football = zero, junior national team = zero, senior national team = zero

grin

Truth is we can't be running cadet teams haphazardly and be expecting miracles every time. Sad part of it all is that we're not ignorant of what we should do but we don't do it anyway

Somebody posted this allegation on twitter.
''Full time: Ghana 1 Nigeria 0. Opponents score another late goal. It's the same old story. Team selection influenced by two individuals - Chief Joseph Uzoma Ebowusim and Liameed Olawale Gafar. Other players to get into this team, the asking price is from N2 million ($4,000.00)''

What kind of a heartless grouping is this in the first place? Nigeria, Ghana and CIV are the 3 strongest teams in WAFU B and they were paired up in the same group. These 3 alongside side Mali and Senegal are the best in Africa, as far as football at this age grade is concerned.

So who are the other teams in the other group in WAFU B? Benin, Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso I guess...Nonsense. angry

Nigeria, Ghana and CIV in one AYC group is even a group of death. Talk more of a WAFU B tournament.

Imagine only 1 of Nigeria, Ghana and CIV will be playing at CAF and FIFA youth competitions. CAF should please scrap this nonsense arrangement. It is killing football in the subregion.

I thought of this today. CAF brought this zoning thing to favour the east and southern Africa mostly because the west are always dominating the age grade tournaments. But this our group just get as e be, how do you explain the three biggest footballing countries in the same group

Nothing from u20 since 2007. Just vibes and Inshallah!! CAF too not ready either.

In other words, the fine on Auba further proves they aren't ready for serious development of the game on the Continent. In an era u21s are kicking, getting game time at their Clubs....

At bolded, do you mean their performances or feeding players to the National team(which is the main purpose), because for the latter, it hasn't exactly failed

Both!!
The Progression is retrogressive as years go by. It's getting worse than ever before. Especially since that Ezekiel Bala set that Bosso was the coach too or so. Their Lacazette u20 set too. Barely 2 enter the SE/Set. If they do, they fade away shapali. So All of the Above!!

Sir, this happens everywhere. Trent Alexander Arnold is the only player from his under 17 set currently in the English national team. The Akpoguma Germany Under 20 team that beat us has only Brandt and Weigl in the National set up. You don't expect every player to make the step or do you??.

And BTW I repeat the under 20 have done just okay in respect to its purpose (serving as platform for players to enter the nation team).

The Lacazete set that beat us was 2011. Omeruo, Olanrewaju Kayode, Musa, Uche Nwofor, Ramon Azeez, Ajagun all played from the National team from that set and some are still part of the national team. We've seen guys like Ndidi, Moses Simon, Uche Agbo, Shehu Abdulahi from 2013. The only difference btw we and the European countries is that they have a structure and a well functional league, hence they are not totally dependent on Age grade tournaments. But we here if our age grade team under performs, it might spell doom for the national team

No bro...Rohr still need call his Belgian coach to ask for how best to use him...and then after call all the SE players to play suit him.... put the ball directly on his head prior he score goals.

I just don't understand why many here wanna waste time on an average striker not until he put up those numbers for a top 5 league and same for SE all I see now is story

Eziekel Imoh, Onyekuru, Osimhen, ike ugbo currently these guys have all painted the Belgian league with goals, I'm not sure he's doing anything special.

If he learns to not hug unto the ball. Release it in time and use his pace and power off-the-ball, he would be devastating.

He needs to drop some pounds to be even more effective.

That means his positioning is whack!!!

He ain't getting any chances, he ain't creating nothing. What's his use to the team? Is he a mannequin. His competitions haven't had up to 8 games to prove themselves, he's been given enough time and he has flopped.

He should wait for us to get a coach who can bring out the best in him.

U know what let's say I totally agree. Now explain the goals at club level? Explain him scoring more goals than any Nigerian in Europe? Explain ooo
