chrisooblog: Morocco has Ziyech and Hakimi. Their number 1 GK plays for Sevilla.
Senegal has 2 GK that play for top clubs in france and england. Koulibaly is better than every defender we have at the moment. Sadio Mane is better than all the forwards we have.
Algeria has a solid GK plays in france. Mahrez better than any winger we have at the moment. Bennacer that plays for AC Milan better than any CM we currently parade.
All this i've mentioned of the top of my mind so please enlighten me how are they not ahead of us? This's it basically |

12large1: very invalid/Inaccurate Statement. Pound for pound, Algeria Don't have a better Squad than Us but their present Coach made a huge difference at them winning ANC. Pound for Pound, Senegal has the strongest 11 but not the strongest Team.
Top 4 most talented11 (pound for pound) now in africa (my opinion) and based on market value 1) Senegal 2) nigeria 3) ivory coast 4) Algeria
Best Team currently in Africa
1) Algeria 2) Senegal 3) Nigeria 4) Tunisia
A great Tactician can make a big difference from Semi final and winning ANC. You can't keep saying "you have a young team" indirectly conceding defeat anytime you come across a strong opponent and expect to WIN I gave up on the man after watching his interview before the second leg against Sierra Leone. Imagine him saying in his one words " our players don't have the mentality for a game like this" A couple of this guys play in the Europa League, a few in UEL, yet they don't have the mentality to face ALMIGHTY SIERRA LEONE |

JohnBullMySon: world class coach may change nothing. This is national team not club where a world class manager comes and starts buying good players. In the NT you are only as good as your players are. You only do a little amount to change things. I hope Rohr goes soon so that we can see how average we are. The way people are talking, you will think that we have won the world cup before. So because we're average it justifies losing to Madagascar and Bottling a four lead against Sierra Leone or going winless in a calendar year, doesn't it?? |

busky007: Are these countries not better than us ? Or is it going to be a case of Nigeria is better than England all over again? So if we want to be the best are we not expected to beat the best??. Ivory Coast were better than us at the 2013 Afcon, didn't we beat them?? And the same Algeria you're talking about are weaker than they were(talent/player wise) when we beat them in 2016. Buh good coaching has made them a way better team than they were then. Just to remind you they came into the AFCON ranked 68, 23 places below us in the FIFA Ranking.Fast forward to over a year they've beaten us twice and are now ranked above us that's what good coaching can do. Their starting 11 that beat us had 3 players playing in the middle east, one in esperance, One at Nottingham Forest and another for relegated Italian side empoli. So on the basis of player quality going to that match we were balanced but we both know what they did to us. You don't need messi and ronaldo to win AFCON. I'll say this anywhere we have a good enough squad to win the AFCON. We beat Ivory Coast with Mba,Oboabona,Relatively unknown Omeruo and Onazi. So all this they're better than us is just a flimsy excuse trying to justify an incompetent coach |

Ovie Ejaria awaits Fifa clearance to play for Nigeria By Oluwashina Okeleji Football Writer, Nigeria 19 November 2020 Sport Africa
Former England youth international Ovie Ejaria is waiting for clearance from Fifa in order to play for Nigeria at senior level.
The 22-year-old Reading midfielder, who spent six years at Liverpool but only made eight senior appearances for the Premier League champions, helped England win the 2017 Under-20 World Cup.
The Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that the process for him to swap allegiances has been started.
He is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his parents, but he will have to wait until next year while Fifa ratifies his switch from England.
Football's world governing body has confirmed "that at the time of writing, Fifa has not cleared the player in relation to the topic you mention."
"As a result, we are not in a position to comment any further nor to give an estimation as to the possible time line."
Ejaria had loan spells at Sunderland and Scottish club Glasgow Rangers before moving to English Championship leaders Reading in August.
He can switch allegiances as he is yet to play for the Three Lions at senior level and coach Gernot Rohr is keen to fortify his midfield, according to his scouts.
He previously trained with the Nigeria under-17 side in 2013 before appearing for the England under-20s in a 3-1 friendly win over Germany in October 2016.
Nigeria have previously succeeded convincing several former England youth internationals like Sone Aluko, Victor Moses, Shola Ameobi, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina to swap allegiances.
Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo also told the BBC in September 2018 that he would love to represent Nigeria if they approach him.
Ejaria scored three goals and provided five assists in 39 games for Reading last season before joining on a permanent deal in August.
He has scored once in six matches this term for the Championship leaders as he recovers from a muscle injury. |

12large1: I'm responding to the guy that said coach should guarantee a WC R8 and ANC win. Omo with the kind of players that we have, nothing is guaranteed When Zambia won the Afcon I guess they had Drogba, Kanu and Eto'o in their team. When Burkina Faso got to the Finals I guess they had Salah and Mane. When probably the worst Cameroon team in a long while won it in 2017 (knocking out both Senegal and Egypt in the process), I guess they had Abedi Pele and Rashidi Yekini. You're failing to get the point here, no one is saying our team is the best thing to happen to Africa. The point is we lack organization in our play and time and time again our coach as shown he's tactically inept. Look at our AFCON winning team in 2013, we had a significantly high amount of carpenters in that team and yet we won. That's what good coaching can guarantee |

12large1: My guy if Rohr contract stipulated that he must Win "Anc" or Termination and he fails to Win Anc then there's a reason for Termination. Also, Any team from Algeria, Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt, ivory coast can win ANC. Also, He can also Qualify us from World cup although i don't think it might be effortlessly. My own is that you should create a contract for a coach and make sure he understands that contract. If he fails to meet his contractual goal, then SACK him. But, I dont support sacking a coach based on things not on his contract. For example: even if rohr Lose 20 0 to sierra leone and his contract says that he must qualify for ANC. As long as he qualify us for ANC, he achieved his goal. Mind you, I am very disappointed in some of his selections i.e ahmed musa, Akpoguma at RB or his lack of untimely substitution It's not just about qualification like Amaju said. They say na from Saturday you go know how Sunday go take be. In our last four games we've been extremely poor. The excuse given against Algeria and Tunisia was that he was trying new things. Buh how would you explain it against a team ranked more than 80 places below you. If we qualify for the AFCON with performances like this we'll might just end up embarrassing ourselves so while wait till after the AFCON which will be just about 8 months before the world cup when you still have time now |

Elyonisable1: Truth is I doubt Rohr's team can defeat Algeria, Senegal or Egypt in an home and away fixture.
He has lost to every tough opponent he has faced since 2019.
It is either Rohr is not doing something right or our team is just overrated and a bunch of average / below average players.
Of a truth, Ndidi and Osimhen are the only above average players we have at the moment. This is in sharp contrast to the likes of Senegal, Algeria and Egypt with world class players like Mane, Mahrez and Salah respectively.
This puts our team in a different perspective. Perhaps Rohr is overachieving with this team and he is justifiably right when he says we are a young team that is still learning.
Still, I'd rather we got a new manager than keep Rohr. The 4 - 4 comeback was all down to his inept game management. He refused to Sub tiring midfielders and he insists of playing misfiring attackers (Musa and Onuachu).
This team may not be world class but the hints we have seen in the games against Brazil, Argentina and Ukraine shows that with the right manager, the team could become world beaters. Well said bro. But at bolded, I Don't think Egypt even with Salah are better than us. They are more of a one man team. For Algeria and Senegal, I don't think we're far behind them player wise buh I don't see any Cohesion in our play. Even when we have very good spells in our matches, it looks like it's more of our players at their very best |

We overate these guys expecting too much from a bunch of average guys who for majority of them, starting for their club is a matter of insha allah.

adrianodiwesco: Time for Rohr to go and the team disbanded. Imagine Iheanacho,a bench warmer for ordinary Leicester playing full time and consistently under performing, when we have very good ballers like Olayinka, Moffi and Mukairu. Our marking since 2016 has been poor and since the exit of Moses, Mikel and Ighalo, we haven't got any player with similar experience, skill and composure. Musa's days are over. Too many defenders and wingers. Few options in central attack and the midfield. My high school team, CKC ,played far better football than these over pampered and relaxed team Even you won't drop iheanacho for those guys you mentioned |
