A house divided against itself cannot stand. We are watching as the drama continues to unfold |
WHEN EMOTIONS RULE OVER REASON, THE SOCIETY SUFFERS... Where EMOTIONS REIGN, REASON TAKES FLIGHT! Emotions affect how we ASSESS situations, events, issues and above all, PERSONALITIES. When we are madly in love, we hardly see negatives of the person we love. Our sense of judgement will be so warped and terribly sentimental. The last one year should provide enough materials for behavioural scientists to do DIALECTICAL ANALYSIS of an average Nigerian as far as our reasoning and analysing political issues are concerned. I read posts but I also listen to people during informal discussions and my take-aways baffle me to no end. Here we go: 1. How come SAME you that could not stand fuel scarcity and blackout for two weeks few years ago (lambasting government to no end), is ready to endure a more debilitating versions of them for upward of four months now? How come you that 'gleefully' said you bought 20 litres for N6000 is ALSO pleading for patience on the part of your compatriots? Asking them to endure more. How come you could not plead for same patience for two weeks three years ago? 2. How come same you that denigrated and gave a certain politician unpalatable names will start praising SAME politician the moment he changes party and joins the party you have soft spot for? 3. Can anyone see PDP physically? Or APC? No. Yet, we say one party is a disaster and another a good one. Yet, same you will exonerate some politicians and denigrate others even when ALL OF THEM used to be in same party? 4. How come you keep saying PDP 16 years are a disaster and same you keep praising and hailing Rotimi Amaechi, El-Rufai, Ghali Na'Abba and co who spent fourteen years in the same disastrous group? In your estimation as someone who is sensible, what could have changed in them the moment they changed party? In your analytical mind, is there something that recreates and regenerates people the moment they leave PDP for APC? 5. How come you like democracy and rule of law, yet you don't mind if they are sacrificed when certain individuals are involved? 6. How come you hate corruption but gives excuses for some politicians and condemn others even before we say corru...? I can go on and on. I have established that our assessment is NEVER based on empirical proofs but on our emotions. We are busy assessing situations from the point of view of those involved and not on merits and demerits of the situations. And that is why we may forever remain in the woods. I wont be surprised if Smart Adeyemi has become a progressive and change agent within the last 48 hours. And to think some of those who reason this way went to school! Shocking... |
Buhari is Running a Voodoo Economy -Fayose The Ekiti State Governor, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s scheduled trip to China to borrow $2 billion as part of the N1.84 trillion programmed to be borrowed to finance the 2016 budget is an attempt to mortgage the future of Nigeria and its people. Governor Fayose said the 2016 budget was not a reflection of the present economic reality in the country. “By the time they borrow N1.84 trillion to fund their N6.06 billion budget; I wonder how Nigeria will survive in 2017 when the Federal Government will be servicing debt with about 50 per cent of its budget. “It has been widely reported that Nigeria wants to raise about $5 billion abroad to cover part of its 2016 budget deficit. This was said to be projected to hit N3 trillion ($15billion) due to heavy infrastructure spending at a time when the slump in global oil prices has slashed its export revenues. In a release by Lere Olayinka, his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, issued on Friday, Fayose said: “In elementary economics, you don’t propose to spend more when your income reduces and I still can’t understand this Buharinomics in which Nigeria is going to spend N6.06 billion with crude oil benchmark of $38 per barrel when the country’s budget was N4.5 trillion in 2015 when crude oil bench mark was $53 per barrel.” The governor said that since the President Buhari claimed to have recovered and still recovering trillions of Naira looted from the treasury and over N3 trillion saved from the Treasury Single Account (TSA), the 2016 budget should be funded with the recovered fund. He warned that with the proposed N1.84 trillion borrowing, $2 billion of which President Buhari is already going to borrow in China, the nation may soon be going the way of Greece because Nigeria will be borrowing N5 billion per day for the next 365 days. “If your income was N200,000 per month last year and your expenditure was N195,000 per month; does it make any economic sense for you to propose to spend N300,000 per month this year that your income has reduced to N120, 000? “Only President Buhari can explain to Nigerians what manner of economic theory encourages borrowing of N1.84 trillion to fund a N6 trillion budget. As for me, it is nothing but a voodoo economic theory and Nigerians must take note that the income that should accrue to them in five years’ time is about to be spent in one year by the Buhari’s APC government,” the governor said. |

oluphilip2008:Undoubtedly OAU! Magnificent structures, great architectural master. I've been to a few other great schools in Nigeria, none measures up to what is on ground in great Ife. The school was built during d famous cocoa boom and when Nigeria still had visionary leaders such as the great Late Obafemi Awolowo |

Isn't it high time these benefits people started to guard themselves against these blood thirsty demons in the name of herds men? If they are waiting for the government of the day to come to their rescue, then I can bet their entire race might get wiped off before such help can reach them, that is of help is ever sent to them, as I don't see that in sight as long as the Tyrant in disguised in native attire remains the president, those demons will continue their killing spree. |
Whoever gathered this piece is really disillusioned. Placing UI in the fourth position? When it's in fact the only credible Postgraduate University of good repute in Nigeria is just a big joke of the year. Another grave error of the writer is OAU not being amongst the five. I wonder what yardstick was used. But whatever yardstick it is, it's obviously inaccurate and riddled with big ?You don't just post any junk just because it's convenient. Consider the misleading effects. |
