Yeah, it's gone up by a few dollars. I guess they keep adjusting it upwards just like the POF
The fees still remain $1040 for a single applicant. (Both processing fee and Right of Permanent Residence Fee). The slight changes were made only on proof of fund.

Congratulations dear

Lucious477:
Hi guys,

I'm very thankful to God because I've received the golden mail and I don't know how to celebrate!

My Timeline:
CRS 454
ITA Dec 6th 2017
AOR Jan 12th 2018
MEP Jan 26th
IP1 Jan 26th
NA2 Feb 1st
IP2 Feb 20th
PPR Feb 21st
Family of 3
No ADR
Visa Office: Ottawa

Some highlights of my application includes;
1. My POF = T-Bills(3months) + Generic Bank Ref Letter + 6months SOA + Gift of deed (100% amount from direct family). My total POF is in the T-Bills, explained this in my LOE.
2. Proof of employment = Reference letter (included NYSC experience) + Pay stubs.
3. There was a mistake in my spouse's name on our daughter's birthday cerficate, so I attached an affidavit (confirmation of name) together with the document to clarify this. Also explained this in my LOE.
4. Educational documents= Degree certificates + WES. I didn't include IELTS certificate although I registered the certificate number somewhere else in my application.
5. My spouse hasn't officially changed her name so I submitted our application with her maiden name. Our marriage certificate was enough proof I guess.
6. Passport photos = We took our final printed photos (50x70mm) from "Study 24" ahead of time. I scanned and resized it to the required specification (35x45mm) (using MS software) and used it for Post ITA submission.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head and I hope it helps.
Thanks to everyone that has ever communicated on this thread (names too numerous to list), it was very helpful!
For those still hoping for better IELTS scores, please try again and give it all you have this time.
For those still expecting the silver mail, please be very hopeful. Try to improve your CRS, while in the pool if you need to.
For those still anticipating towards receiving the golden mail, it will certainly come!
I'm wishing everyone here the very best and remember it will end in praise!

According to IRCC, children qualify as dependants if they meet both of these requirements:

* they’re under 22 years old, and
* they don’t have a spouse or partner.

OR

Children 22 years old or older qualify as dependants if they meet both of these requirements:

* they have depended on their parents for financial support since before the age of 22, and
* they are unable to financially support themselves because of a mental or physical condition.

Anyway, if you are sure that your step-daughter is no longer a dependent child, then she doesn't need to do medicals and PCC. You will include her details under the family section when you get an Invitation to Apply. There is a question under that section that says: Please tell us about XXXXX's immediate family members that have not been identified in the application. This includes any parent, any spouse or common-law partner, any child including adult children, and any brothers or sisters. If the relative is deceased, provide the date of death.

Good evening my people. Our able seniors in the house, pls I'm in a situation that is not in anyway clear to me right now. It has to do with dependent children's eligible age.
I have a step daughter who's 23yrs old, a fresh university graduate, waiting to go for NYSC soon. Now my dilemma; I understand that she doesn't qualify to be included in our application as the age limit for a dependent child is set at 22 by CIC, now my concern is do we put her name any where on the application? If we do, is she going to do medicals and PCC? Is the POF supposed to cover her considering that she's not a dependant? NB: I have put in for student visa application before and she was listed as dependent child(2013), though the visa application was denied. Pls my people, help me torchlight the matter. Thanks in anticipation of your responses

Good day house. Pls I have a challenge with my WES application right now, I need your advice on how to rectify the error I have just committed.

I have done my B.Sc evaluation with WES in 2015, now my masters result is ready, but as a result of the ongoing NASU strike, a friend of mine got a connection in the school to help process the transcript and result, in a bid to take the advantage to have the contact process my transcript and statement of result with my friend's own, I gave my old reference number for the previous evaluation. I wrongly assumed that since it's just an upgrade on the same profile, the ref number will remain the same. But I was wrong. My transcript and result got sent yesterday with the old ref number. I just made payment to WES this morning and a totally different ref number was generated. Pls help with this. Thanks guys!

Seun:
The little charity that the churches do from time to time is not more than the CSR that purely for-profit corporations like Shell also do.

Would you accept the idea that it's wrong to criticize Shell when they pollute the Niger Delta because they use some of their profits for CSR?

Most of the corrupt politicians that we often criticize also spend some of their money on charity. Does this make them any less corrupt?
Mr Seun, I knew your aversion to Christianity will force you to respond to this thread in the negative. The question is not whether the charity done by churches is corporate social responsibility or not. But rather, why those "little" charity as you put it are never worthy of mention by the same public/media that vilify the church at every little chance they get? Why do they make it seem like the church never gives back to the society? Why do people pour out their frustrations on the church and on pastors, when in fact, their elected officials are feeding fat on their future without caution? Oga Seun, you'd do well by answering these questions first before you carry on with your sermon against the church.

CareerRe: Customers Are Always Right; How True Is This View? by oluphilip2008(f): 7:03am On Dec 07, 2017
In Nigeria, customers are not always right. Many of them are just out to frustrate you. You as the employee has the right to defend yourself too. A customer who did not hesitate to slap you twice simply for doing your job doesn't deserve your respect. You have your own dignity to protect too and I love the fact that you defended yourself.

So sorry you had to resign. Better one ahead.
Hope you have some savings to sustain you till another one comes though.

Congrats on scaling the G1! For others yet to take the test, here are further sites where you can practice the exact questions that will come in the computer test for Ontario;

Mobile site for the website used by Ballerz, m.g1.ca

http://icandrive.ca/ontario/g1-practice-test

www.drivingtest.ca/g1-driving-test/

https://apnatoronto.com/Ontario-g1-test/

For those going to other provinces just navigate in the above sites to get your preferred destination and take their own tests. With consistent practice you wont need to study the handbook in-depth but getting 90% on the practice tests over and over has proven to be a good indication you're ready for the real thing. All the best.

1 & 2. Yes Temporary License because they will post the license to your address within 90 days. So the one printed on paper can be used while waiting for the one in the mail.

With your FRSC License, and Letter, you will go for the knowledge test, then G1 road test or G2 road test. The letter makes you skip the waiting times (12 - 18 months before you can proceed to the next level test.) Check page 11 of the manual for better clarification. So with the letter you do the Knowledge Test proceed to G2 road test, pass and collect your G License.

Your Nigerian License is expired. The manual says "If you are a new resident of Ontario and have a valid driver's licence from another province or country, you can use that license for 60 days in Ontario. If you want to continue to drive after 60 days, you must get an Ontario driver's license."

You need to get that FRSC letter to claim waiver for the 2 years waiting time. I had previously posted where You can make a request via email to them. They collected the original of the letter. You must also present the Nig License because they will need to make a copy of it.

TEECANN:
Hello e-fam.

Calling on all PPRs and CoPRs in the house!

I have not heard any of our recent PPRs and CoPRs come here and talk/advise about their experiences with pre-arrival services with organisations such as "ACCESS Employment" and "Planning for Canada"

These are organizations fully funded by the Government of Canada to offer free pre-arrival services and NOC-specific trainings (to aid ease of Canadian job environment transitioning) to PPR/CoPRs holders prior to their landing in Canada.

I just finished speaking with a friend that landed in Canny in September 2017 but before he left Nigeria, he and his wife availed themselves of the 8-weeks online trainings in their specific NOC and after the training, he tried his luck in applying to some jobs in the town he would be settling in, his attempts paid off as he got a job offer to resume upon landing.

He told me he attributed the job he got to the pre-arrival services online trainings he got (which reflected on his Canadian format-CV submitted for the job), the referral from one of the facilitators at a pre-arrival session he attended (which he said he actively participated in & got the attention and admiration of the facilitator that showed him the opening and recommended him)

You can only enroll for this Pre-arrival services if you have NOT landed in Canada but already have your PPR or CoPR and have more than 8 weeks to spare in Nigeria before departure and guess what? IT IS FREE!! Pls do your research on this, if interested!

My prepuz, don't let us be dulling good opportunities that will maximally impact our smooth settling in Canny, using such good valuable pre-departure time to be packing garri and ogbono alone is not smart o grin grin

You may choose to invest your pre-departure time wisely!!

It will all end in praise IJN!
This is going to come in handy. Thanks for the info

I took speaking test today. What I gave at the exam was nothing close to my best. It was my first attempt. I'm registering another test asap. Feeling sad
Hi CNNN, you need to be encouraged, considering that you're yet to do the other 3 aspects of the test. I had a bad experience during my own speaking test too. I got too tensed and mumbled a lot. I even used a vocabulary whose meaning was the exact opposite of what I had in mind (where the vocab came from I don't know grin). All I knew was immediately I used that vocab, I became sad and restless, I knew something had gone amiss. My fear was confirmed thereafter. I checked on my phone, the meaning totally negated the sentence in which I had used it. I became weak and almost unable to keep practising for the rest of the test. Hubby encouraged me (we did our exam same day), I remember him saying something like the examiner might not even know the meaning of the vocab grin. Long story short my speaking score was 7.5. Just what I needed to have full point for speaking. Pls focus on the remaining parts for you shall overcome IELTS
