Sensationalist title. NJC should be ashamed of what they have written here. They admitted that almost all the judges arrested are corrupt, and they have now decided that some of them be suspended.
1. Why did you have to wait for DSS to arrest them before you come out publicly to denounce corrupt judges?
2. DSS sent a petition in February, and you're replying in April asking for Sworn affidavit?? Trying to dribble the country while shielding your corrupt members?
Out of over 1000 petitions, you have only recommended 18 judges for prosecution? Less than 1%.
Did u read any part and I mean any part where they said they acted within the confines of the LAW governing them? Question: Did the DSS break the law?

This is NJC washing d dirty linens of their judges in public admiting they are corrupt,bt jst to save face.
Bt d wailers were busy taking side with d judges that they weren't corrupt bt jst an intimidation frm DSS
many of such judges and SANs stil countless in NJC
You know, a popular saying goes thus: '' if you want to hide something from an African, hide it in a book".

I advice that you read the statement again, twice if possible and see if there's any merit in ur words.

Phones / Re: MTN 15% Xtra Service Fee by Oluwaplumpie(m): 10:18am On Oct 12, 2016
It simply means they'll now charge u 15% as service charge as against 10% if u borrow credit from them. Eg, if u borrow N100 before now, they would credit u with N90 as N10 would be service charge. Now, they'll now credit u with N85 and take N15 as service charge.

In simple terms, they increases their service charge by 5%

Dishearteningly long piece, but Very valuable and reasonable

Lawyers and judges shouldn't be shielding their colleagues, by so doing, they are telling DSS and the citizens in general that they are on the same boat and are afraid to sink

So far no one arrested by EFCC's office or DSS for corruption charges has been found innocent, they all have been making deals or returning loots, I think enough evidence was already available to prove the judges were corrupt they just needed to make an arrest and start a trial

As for me, I believe in Buhari and his war on corruption,

And those saying its an illegal bust, it's tyrannical, it's this, it's that,

I would say those judges were served from the same cup they have been giving to other people

You see the problem? You don't care about right or wrong... They got served and that's right by you...

I fear for the rule of law in this country.

The statement further added that “the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), who had been a successful lawyer before his foray into politics declared a bank balance of about N94 million and 900,000 United States Dollars in his bank accounts”.

Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/breaking-buhari-osinbajo-declare-assets/

They will now explain how they got the money. Why would a person have that kind of cash in their house if they are not trying to hide it?
do u realise that by your assertion, any amount of money u have in ur home is there because you're hiding it?

Now, I haven't exonerated the judges from corruption, no. I'm simply saying that the premise upon which the DSS broke the laws of our country is alarming.

I beg to submit.
Politics / Re: DSS, Judges And The Conscience Of A Nation by Oluwaplumpie(m): 7:35am On Oct 12, 2016
Which law in Nigeria says that when u have raw cash and plenty foreign currency in your home, ure corrupt?

Are these not Judges we're talking about here?

As it stands, that's the only evidence the DSS has produced against them and its sad.

What we're invariably saying is they shouldn't have more money than they earn. They can't have business interests. They can't have successful spouses. They can't have rich children. These guys just started their law practice.

Do we remember how much our vice president has in hard currency when he declared his assets?

Ha!
Politics / Re: The Dss And Their Phantom Dollars by Oluwaplumpie(m): 7:26am On Oct 12, 2016
Thought provoking.

This idea that DSS has that civil servants should be poor is amazing. Their idea: if u money is too big, ure corrupt...

Let's see how this plays out.

Well, let the impunity continue.
