My 2004 Toyota Avensis gear selection is giving me problem.
When I take off & the gear start selection at the point the gear suppose shift to 3 it will return to 1, until I stopped & return the gear to park, off the engine and start again luckily sometime it will select fine y another same problem occurs.
My gear rewire advice my to change the gear which I did. After 2weeks, the Tokunbo gear I just bought as started doing like the previous gear.
Pls what can I do to solve this problem?

. I don't really advice some one to go get a nigeria used car. But if the want the car should be check by a trusted mechanic. As for the car it is well economical but it suffer from suspension problem. And for the transmission type i will urge to get an automatic one but shud be maintane by a good technician. Thank you

Hello sir. Rx300 is a reliable and very strong vehicle it is an automatic transmission type usually come with a v6 engine. The most common problem with this is an software issue with the (PCM)OR(ECU) Which is the computer control unit in which give auto technician problem when running a compterized scan on it. It take lot of time to pull out a fault code on it some time when the check engine light is on. And the check engine light don't realy come on when there is a problem . But for the well trained technician that not a problem. And for the transmission is very strong and have long lifespan. But don't go for wrong fluid. Cause it will damage it in no time. The maintanance cost is low and very ok. But know your mechanic. Thankyou

RX300 don't have RWD, rather they have AWD. 170k for FWD, 280k for AWD. The last time I checked.

Hello sir the vehicle is a very good one but in terms of durability it is very strong and we have diffrent types of engine capacity. And for the uses of the car i will urge you to get a higher one. But for the transmission we have the manual and the automatic transmission you can get a automatic transmission but required a good technician to handle if they try to messed up with the transmission am very sure you will regret it and don't try to use a wrong fluid in the engine and transmission. And for the electrical system mostly the car always have an (E.c.u) problem. For the fuel economy is really ok. If you want to get the car it required a lot like financially. Note- all ford cars always have a chasis rust and it is normal
