Career / Change Of Path by Olympuse: 12:47pm On May 21
Hello guys, I graduated 6 years ago and I've taken up teaching as a way to keep body and soul. But reality has dawned on me that those years were wasted on a job with no prospect. Now I'm considering another career path. What field can I go into, I have previously dabbled into web development but couldn't complete due to distractions.
Travel / Can Someone With 2.2 Class Of Degree Get Masters In Europe by Olympuse: 7:23pm On May 13
Hello house, I have this question bothering my mind and I want experienced ones to get me an answer. Can a graduate of 2.3 class of degree get to do master's abroad especially in Europe? If there is a chance. Which schools are available that someone can apply to? If the chance is slim, can getting a master's here in Nigeria with a good grade increase the chance?. I look forward to your views and advice.

Is WordPress still in demand like that, even if it is, competition in that space is high. What of Shopify?
Jobs/Vacancies / What Should I Do? by Olympuse: 11:09am On Apr 02
I'll make this brief. I am a 29 yr old graduate and single. Ever since I completed my NYSC four years ago, I have taken up teaching job as means to survive. But I noticed that I have not made any progress throughout those years. That beg the question, what's the way forward?
I have some options before me but I don't know the best for me considering some factor like age. I consider going back for MSc but I finished with 2.2 in my degree. Another option I'm considering is focusing on frontend development but I see adverts where they ask for Computer science certificate as requirement and saturation of the job market. Last option on my list is going back to school for computer science degree. Settling down is also another path on the list. So wise men in the house, what should I do please?.

You did not reveal your course of study
Instead of going back to study computer science from 100 level, use that money to get trained in web development in a reputable ICT institute Like APTECH , New Horizon, etc.
I studied biochemistry!
Shouldn't I be concerned with the current job scarcity and saturation of web development?
I have also included Japa in my plans too if I see substantial money or sponsor.

I admitted to your assertion that post covid bubble for IT will be gone but other sectors will be badly affected.

Ask yourself what caused the post covid bubble - many people who do not have the IT fundamentals sneaked into IT. They go into area of IT that is not so steep and these are the people that do not even understand what a "class" is IT means or how the tech ecosystem connects.

Many roles were created who do not require you to be steep in IT. Tech gets bloated.

These are the people that would be swept away. Tech will hold on to individuals with solid skill sets.

I just told you I rejected an 800 GBP per day job. I am negotiating for a 1000 GBP per day and we are still on it. I work on AI projects across the continents as well.

If you want to go into tech, understand the fundamental, have interest to create magic , not for the money alone.

A lot of companies want to build AI for their processes. The opportunities are bigger than they have always been, if you are thoroughly skilled!
You can say this because you are vast and highly skilled. For someone who already has the knowledge of the fundamentals, what area is less bloated in this AI revolution. Coming from a. Web development background.

Yes. AI affects tech but not like the other sectors. It is tech people that build AI and maintain it.

Regarding the DEVIN AI, it is hyped. I have watched the video and read vastly about it.

The best that can happen to Devin is it will be another tools that developers will leverage. If you are into codes, you will understand what I am saying.

Codes is not about knocking things together. It is about understanding the technical requirements , arrange it to align with global best practices. You cant feed devin AI the requirements. A programmer can type the requirements one by one into devin, read the generated codes, understand it, refactor it.

No organisation will feed generated codes by Devin AI into the production environment. You are safer being in tech than any other profession.
But you are yet to admit my assertion that AI has really put a dent on the Tech bubble of post covid period and it's about to burst. And coupled with the fact that the competition out there is fierce. It's getting tougher

That is where you miss it.

AI will enable most people in tech to be more efficient. AI cant sit in a meeting to gather technical requirements but developers can leverage on AI to write his scripts.

An experienced coders will even refactor codes written by AI because it is not reusable and not the best for the use case.

Hook yourself into tech before the train leaves, if you can.

But you will agree with me that there are some areas of tech that AI is gradually taking over like web development and graphics design. Have you heard of Devin AI? I know AI can't organize interviews but since it makes work easier why would companies spend much money on recruiting juniors when a senior Dev can just do the work of two more devs.

I recognised this your assertion and I stated in my write up. I said if you can, the time to jump in is now.

The threat of AI is so real and fast coming
As if that AI isn't coming for tech jobs too, infact they have started feeling it in the Tech world with the number layoffs and downsizing.
