Politics › Re: Abia Monarch Raises The Alarm Over Massive Land Acquisition By Herdsmen by olyrayy(m): 4:49am On May 05, 2025
RandomFellow:
Its not supposed to be an issue; but knowing that the Caliphate want the whole of Southern Nigeria to become a conquered territory, this calls for concern.

Their plan is simple- acquire massive lands legally; bring their people in tiny bits, and let them marry and reproduce; overpopulate the acquired lands by massive births; covertly begin to ask for basic rights like schools, hospitals, markets, rights to vote, etc; become major political players in the said area where they have taken root, like deciding who becomes the chairman of a local government chairman or even governor. Strike a deal with a desperate politician to advance their course; get an opportunity to put their person in power... Take over the state and never relinquish their acquired power... Continue till their holy book is dipped in the Atlantic Ocean!

Read about Afikpo North in Ebonyi state (focus on Mgbom, Uwanna), and Ilorin in Kwara state.
You can replace caliphate with Igbo in this sentence and it would still be talking about the same thing.

All Nigerians are free to live and vote in any part of the country. All Nigerians are indigenes of Nigeria.

Damn. What a limp-dicked rebuttal. It just asks raises questions and critiques the style instead of providing solid counter arguments backed up with solid evidence.

The only time it provides evidence, it cites evidence from 2023, which is a sleight of hand, because Buhari ruled Nigeria for half of 2023. If you want to bring data to counter Tinubu, bring 2024 data.
Politics › Re: In 2027, Tinubu Won’t Win; The Opposition Will Lose By Farooq Kperogi by olyrayy(m): 7:46pm On Apr 27, 2025
franchasng:
Very correct analysis.

It is very easy to defeat Tinubu if and only if the Northern politicians (Atiku, El Rufai and Co) championing a coalition of opposition can swallow their pride, arrogance and ill-timed ambition and throw their full support behind a popular Southern Presidential candidate.

Let's remember that El Rufai and Buhari made Tinubu President through his indifferent and Idoncare attitude which made Tinubu to hijack INEC for the rigging nonsense they did by switching off the iREV portal and polling unit result upload.

Rigging in Presidential election have limit if the people don't want you.

If he likes let him use EFCC to intimidate all the corrupt Governors to decamp to APC, that will never stop him from being defeated in 2027.

The only thing that will make Tinubu win easily is if the so called coalition of opposition fail or if they end up presenting Atiku Abubakar as their consensus Presidential candidate for 2027.

But if the North are serious to stop Bola Tinubu from winning a reelection in 2027, they should swallow their pride and make a sacrifice by announcing Peter Obi as their preferred consensus Presidential candidate for 2027 election. Once the North do this, it is finished for Tinubu and he knows this. They can have a solid agreement with Obi to do only single tenure.

Only a Peter Obi candidacy backed by Northern Nigerians can defeat Tinubu in 2027 irrespective of rigging. Anything less will be a walk over for Tinubu.

This is another great option but the problem is the Obidient movement which is a collection of young Nigerians from all tribe and even religion might not be happy if Peter Obi deputize Atiku, they will lose majority of Obidient people support/vote.

But if Obi can convince Obidients and young Igbos, and Atiku is able to rally his Northern brothers to queue behind him, then they will also defeat Tinubu with all his rigging plans
You're forgetting the elephant in the room. A Goodluck Jonathan candidacy.

The dismissal of Dr. Usman Aliyu by Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University sends a strong message about accountability for sexual harassment in academia. This case underscores the importance of robust institutional policies and their enforcement to ensure safe learning environments. Such actions not only validate survivors’ voices but also reinforce trust in academic governance.

Northerners are slaves to their governors. Fulani herdsmen killers, bokoharam, iswap don't have dreadlocks.

If northern governors channel those hisbah sharia police into fighting bandits it will go a long way. A people blinded and confused by religious dogma won't develop, progress or see peace.
Na wa for you O. Niger state is in the North Central. They don't have sharia. You Southerners that think everyone in the North is Hausa-Fulani.

Would you blame Azikiwe?

How do you expect him to form Government with a man that betrayed him and used tribalism to get his NCNC members to defect to AG and prevent Azikiwe from becoming Premier Western Region that his party, NCNC, won the majority in the House?

If you were the one, would you trust such a man?
That wasn't a betrayal. I don't think they were allies in the first place.

But I mean, in the end, didn't Azikiwe's party end up forming an alliance with the AG? But it was too late.

Penguin2:
Foolish Bill.

Should be killed.

What I hate is that some of these men are old enough to know why Parliamentary System of Government was dumped for Presidential System.

The ethnic and religious configuration of Nigeria does not support parliamentary system of government because the north for instance can come together and perpetuate themselves in power by continually voting a pro-North party to gain majority in the National Assembly.

That was what happened in the first republic before Independence even.

Before then Azikiwe’s NCNC and Awolowo’s AG were the only major political parties.

But in the build up to independence, Ahmadu Bello registered NPC as a political party and used tribal sentiments to get northerners to vote the party in the 1959 pre-independence election.

That was how NPC (Northern Political Congress) won majority at the National Assembly and had to produce the Prime Minister in Tafawa Balewa. Making Nigeria to miss out on the refined leadership of men like Azikiwe or Awolowo as Head of Government.

And if the 1966 coup which truncated democracy hadn’t happened, the North would have continued to vote their party and hold on to power for as long as God knows.

Bring back Parliamentary System and you face similar scenario all over again.

If there’s anything we need from the past, it’s regionalism.

They should die this parliamentary bulcrap.
The North is not a monolith. Tafawa Balewa's party had the largest number of votes, but they were far from being the majority. They needed to form a coalition with another party to run the government.

By the way, Obafemi Awolowo approached Azikiwe and asked for a coalition. Both parties, combined with some other Northern minority parties would have been enough to form a coalition. Azikiwe would have been prime minister and Awolowo wanted to be minister of finance.

Azikiwe said no.

Penguin2:
If there’s anything we need from the past, it’s regionalism.
After everything you typed, this was your conclusion? The very thing that causes the civil war was regionalism.

So, I have a substack dedicated to Nigeria's history. I'm starting off with the recent major historical event - the 2023 elections.

I wrote the series in three parts. Part 1 covered the buildup to the election and the primaries. Part 2 covered the campaign and the election itself.

This final part covers the events that happened post-election, especially the election petition. If you heard that Tinubu won the election petition but don't know how or why, you can read the post to find out here -

Their delusion is laughable. The moment even a whisper of progress emerges from the East, they lose all composure, descending into their predictable fits of hypocritical outrage. A single thread on ipob activities in the Southeast ignites an endless frenzy, ballooning to 20 pages before noon, while identical threads from the North barely scrape 20 pages in an entire month.

I've dissected their behaviors meticulously, stripping their façade layer by layer. The bias, the double standards, and the deeply ingrained inferiority complex . These people, consumed by envy, perpetuate their manic episodes to mask their inadequacies. Their sickness is palpable, and their reactions are nothing short of pathetic.
