Bro... Can I trade ETFs on the Nigerian Stock Exchange?
Why people can't see she is trying to sell market is beyond me.
Husband cheated, she forgave and went on to have twins.
If that is not the classic Nigerian wife advise, I don't know what else is.
This is a woman who thrives on objectifying herself sexually. The day Beyonce stops been seen as a sex object in her current business model, she starts losing fans and money.
Chimamanda is a much better ambassador of modern feminism: Neatly and decently dressed; known for her intellect alone.
If Chimamanda decided to wear a burka today, it doesn't affect her relevance or income.
Abi O. Look at Hilary Clinton sef. Her husband cheated and is a serial cheater, but she's still with him. Probably for political reasons.
The same way beyonce is still with Jay Z, probably because dude is far richer.
slawormiir: Damnnn niggarrrr Isoright.... Not surprised though...am aware onions is gonna be cheap over there in the north
Southerners capitalize or rather take advantage of a situation to enrich themselves at every slightest opportunity... They increase the price of everything beyond what it is supposed to be once they notice or sense a looming situation just to make wealth...our own selfishness and quick money in this South is too much
There should be a price regulation or rather price control
You see what am saying...imagine what the guy above me is saying...this is not profit making..it is called stealing....Damnnnnn the criminality in every Nigerian especially Southerners is second to non... Walk out of this thread while I Smoke my weed with anger
Bro... Didn't you do economics in school? If he decides to ship the onions to Lagos to sell, it would increase the supply of onions in Lagos. As a result of the supply increasing, the price would reduce...
Besides, price control is bullshit and doesn't work. It has bad effect on rural dwellers and producers of these commodities. There are structural reasons for the increase in the price of onions. It's not because all the onions suppliers decided to collude to increase the price.
YungMillionaire: Southerners are foolish. You notice Northern youths are not protesting. What does that tell you? Because, I see all these ENDSARS asking for the benefits of democracy. But in Nigeria democracy is in the hands of Northerners because they are the majority. So, if the Northerners don't want what you want, you will never get it UNDER Nigerian democracy. What the South should be asking for is:
1. Regionalism or 2. Secession. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.
After you burn down Lagos and the SW, then last last you will return back to the same Nigerian democracy where the North will continue to determine WHAT you get.
Stupid people all over the South. Shame on you.
You're miscalculation Bro. The North doesn't control Nigerian democracy. The most important equation when it comes to Nigerian democracy is the middle belt (North Central). This area is a melting pot of Northern and Southern influences and are crucial swing states when it comes to elections.
Before you say they are also Northerners and would do the core North's bidding, think twice. It was the middle belt, in alliance with the South that voted Goodluck Jonathan in as president for his first term.
CuteVally: Hmmm thanks. maybe because i am still a virgin because sex dont trip me. i have no desire for it but i know soon i might change though but with a special girl.
Bro... No girl is special. That would save you a lot of future problems.
Hello house. Do you know of any good online publication on issues of politics or Nigeria generally? I'm talking of a publication that publishes long form content like Politico, The Economist, and so on.
I'm not talking of breaking news websites O. I want something that does an in-depth analysis of issues.
For offline magazines, I used to read TELL back in the day, but they don't have a suitable online presence.
koonbey: You're making this thing overly simplistic, bro. Bill Gates, Zuck and co didn't make the money they did merely by being programmers. It was by starting a business and growing it, which is management and a different thing entirely from writing code. They don't write any code these days.
It's fair to say that the average highly skilled programmer will earn more than the average lawyer or doctor, but bringing the Forbes list into it is not accurate. The people on the Forbes list are mostly CEOs and investors. None of them is a programmer working in a company, stock options or no.
Actually, those guys are there by virtue of their profession as programmers. I'm not even restricting the prospects for lawyers and doctors to those who are practicing their profession for salaries.
For instance, I have allowed for the richest doctors to even include CEOs of pharmaceuticals. Even with that, they still don't come close to the tech guys.
Sarang: Well we are still talking about employment. Most of the people on Forbes list has other sources of income. In terms of employment, Doctors earn more than programmers Have a look at the pay for Neurosurgeons for example.
The other sources of income are the tech startups they work in. A senior programmer would have stocks in a tech company by virtue of their technical know-how. There are also billionaire doctors, they own pharmaceutical companies and all.
Even if you add that, programmers still earn more.
Sarang: Sit down. Relax. Doctors earn the highest. It’s not about who is the millionaire, it’s about who earns more collectively and DOCTORS do than IT
Lol. You can't compare the richest doctors and the richest programmers. How far na. How would you do that? Just check the Forbes list.
gimakon: Right now ehn, Odika Usain Bolt I Wan use comot this country, na the 1500m type. But let me get this remote job first.. Others go soft. If U day for this condition my padi day, which one you go do? Stay here day chop the 450k or Japa with your $120,000
gimakon: Na another thing o. but at least shay he cannot use that one while he sources, cos me I would like to have at least a remote job, so i can have something pending when I see a fulltime stable job.. I advised him on that note as well.
Dude. The stability issue doesn't matter. You just said your friend is a badass programmer. Companies would be begging to employ him. Programmers earn as high as lawyers and doctors. In fact, programmers earn higher than lawyers and doctors.
You can't even compare the richest programmers (Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and the other world's richest) with the richest lawyer or doctor. Who born the lawyer papa?
gimakon: A quick question I want to ask and know hearts of peeps.
I have a badass programmer pal. Full stack engineer. Recently did a job for someone, and made some real good cash. Like up to $120,000. The money came from building software for 3 microfinance banks in the country. He earns over 450,000 Naira as salary here in Nigeria as well. We got talking yesterday and he's telling me he cannot stay in Nigeria, that he's resigning immediately after lock down for airports are over.
His argument is 450,000 Nigerian Naira equals 1,162.97 United States Dollar, wheras in the US / Canada for instance, the salary is way higher.
Question is what do you think ?
Damnnnn!!!!!!!
If he can earn $120,000 while in Nigeria, what is he going abroad for? $120,000 in naira is about 54 million naira. If he decides not to work again in this life, he would still be earning cool cash.
Like the first person said, it's better to earn $120,000 in Nigeria than to earn $120,000 in the US. What he should do is to quit that remote job of N450,000 and focus fully on the remote jobs that earn him $120,000. Unless he wants to do other things within the current company sha.
But damn, this is a no-brainer.
And you say he is a badass programmer. Job would not be scarce for him. Especially remote jobs.
tillaman: Sadly they won’t help support the young man, imagine what this guy can do if the govt gives him adequate support, we need to start buying our own products, the pandemic made us realise that we have to be self sufficient Na OYO every country dey
Bro, it's not the government's responsibility to support people who have a business idea. Just because someone makes a contraption doesn't mean the government has to reward the person. This is a capitalist society, not a socialist one. It's not the government's business.
If the contraption provides enough value, what stops him from getting investors and mass producing to turn a profit?
