jumper524: Going by the price of cement and inflation rate Toda, then we are going forward. In 1982 the naira to dollar is #1 to $0.5. Meaning if 40 bags is #1520, then 1bag is #38 or better still 19dollar. $19 dollar to naira today is 7800. In essence cement is actually cheaper today.
Dude. $19 back then is vastly different from $19 today.
GreaterFuture: Can't I just buy dollars Cash and keep at home I know it's against the law (technically),but to avoid the long story or Stress of Opening Dorm account, I can buy a few hundreds, keep and sell when dollars is high, Abi?
Is it against the law to hold dollars in cash? Didn't know about that. You could do as you stated sha.
2. Referees from two people with a non-salary current account.
3. Some banks require you to have an initial deposit. I've used GTB and they don't require a pre-existing deposit.
4. Miscellanous.
You should get a domiciliary account to protect yourself from naija inflation. If you have a substantial amount, switch from a dom account to a stablecoin.
Emefiele is a mad man. He can seize all the funds from domiciliary accounts if he runs out of ideas.
englishmart: If half the potentials of the igbos are tapped, Nigeria will be five-times better than the USA and China combined. Just give us biafra and see rapid development in 6-weeks. Within one-year, we'd become world power
ayoncox: It is unfortunate that we call tyranny good governance. The same man creating stiffening system that fustrates young kids from gaining admission through his fanaticism is called messiah. I laugh in Swahili
Liballo: You are not Emotionality, Psychologically and Financially ready for marriage. Like a thread a man made sometimes ago complaining about how his Wife's relatives eat like gluttons.
Dadaboy: Sorry what I meant to write is an island.. which is why it is crime free. They even gave me a car to use throughout. Without any fear of me running away with it.
Wow. What't the ethnic composition of the place? Are they predominatly black?
Dadaboy: I stayed in Seychelles for about three weeks before going to Ethiopia from there. Seychelles is lovely and they are open to investors and it is the most peaceful place I have ever lived since I was born since it is landlocked. No crime at all. Though Seychelles can be lonely as its a destination for tourists especially those who go for honeymoon and vacations.
Is Seychelles landlocked? I thought it was an Island?
Dadaboy: I have been to Seychelles, it doesn't look very lucrative to me except rental busineses.. but business is not why I want to relocate.
Oh. Yeah. I doubt local businesses would be lucrative. There are barely up to 100 thousand people there. I heard it's a haven for cryptocurrency companies sha. That's one of the reasons why I'm considering it in the long term.
Bisshop123: Well I don't know if an African country is in ur option cuz with dat amount u could set up a really good business dat will bring u back good amount of money in a very good African country with working government, security and other basic amenities...... Theres Botswana, namibia, Rwanda, mauritius etc....... Depending on what you want..... Just do ur own research per country.... I would advise u to leave countries like UK, Canada, US even Australia except ur looking for work there. Because there system would not favor u due to ur amount.... But if u have above $150k then u can go for Canada and Australia cuz u will set ur sef up and running in no time. But my favorite will be an African country. Cuz with that capita u will achieve more. Cheers anyway. And good luck
Rwanda though... It's not a stable country in my opinion. Paul Kagame doesn't have any reasonable succession plan. If anything happens to him, the country could go back to shit.
I am in dire need of support from people who have travel experience. When I say travel experience, I mean people who has relocated from Nigeria completely.
I will be 30 next month, single (have always hated the idea of marrying any lady in Nigeria because I have been unlucky with most of them i met as they seem complicated, inconsequential, dishonest and inexposed).
To make this short, I spent a lot of my youth working so hard to save enough money with the mindset to relocate from Nigeria as Nigeria depresses me alot.
I have been able to save nearly 20 million naira, excluding investments running in millions i wish to put on cargo to ship wherever I wish to relocate to.
Now, my problem is finding a suitable location or environment where i can relocate to without stress and problems.
Note that, I do not intend to work for anyone as I have my own skills.
United States, United Kingdom are out of my plans as I have realised their system are not built to favour me or my type of person and seem more like stress and a slavery environment to me.
I applied for Canada visa with hope to get work permit but has been on hold for months as they have been on lockdown since.
Having lived in South Africa before for a short while and felt like home there, I had it as an option but I am at crossroads, if I can have better suggestions from experienced people here.
Also, if anywhere in Europe is advisable (remember I do not wish to work for anyone except part time, in my field or if must require me to get a work visa)
Please I need advice.
What of Ghana? It seems safe. And there's no looming threat of civil war or the like. Also, 20 million naira in Ghana would take you far compared to 20 million naira in a European country. Relocating to Ghana is also not too difficult. And, since you work in entertainment, you'll be closer to your base, which is Nigeria...
Bro. No mind them O. Better don't check yourself. What will you gain?
You've been living fine without knowing whether or not you had HIV. Why would you want to be stressing yourself by knowing that you have HIV?
By the way, there are countless people who live a healthy life with HIV without taking anti-retrovirals and they are safe and sound. In fact, it was recently discovered in one African country, probably Congo or so, that people there had developed immunity to HIV. They had immunity and were living fine with HIV without dying.
By the way, in the worst case scenario that you have HIV and it turns out to be deadly, and so? All of us will die one day. It's better to live 30 good years than to live 100 miserable years carrying HIV on your head.
Toks2008: We all need respect but this thread is about the men so let's stick to the subject.
And let me make some things clear as regards this respect of a thing...
Many people usually say respect is earned and I quite understand that but the question is.. "Do you wait for your parents to earn your respect before you give them"?
The Bible never wrote at any point that you should "submit/respect your husband ONLY IF HE EARNS IT"
It was an absolute instruction that has no condition attached but we can argue that if the guy misbehaves then he does not deserve your respect but that is where many ladies got it wrong...
If at anytime you feel you can no longer submit or respect that man, just leave his life... But as long as you still decide to be with him, respecting him is very sacrosanct regardless.
There's a condition... For husbands to also love their wives as christ loved the church.
richmond500: what is that suppose to mean? I don't think Aids is particular to Africans alone. Where did u get this info
The first incidences of AIDs occurred amongst East-Central Africa and Homosexuals.
And, I saw something a while back about there being a vaccine test or something like which involved something from Chimps(that have SIV, similar to HIV) being tested on those cohorts.
Many of us here reading this topic didn't just stumble upon it by mistake.. I welcome U all to share your spiritual experiences about seeing demons, spirits, angels or fallen angels. This would be a gift if you see these 3 all and may or may not be if U just see demons only. The purpose of this thread is to expose the hidden works of satan & to counter attack his deceits.
I remember growing up as a child, i started to see spirits at age 11. The first spirit i saw was dressed up in a white long robe, looked so white, stood still and didn't utter a word to me. I could have taken him to be a real angel, but something didn't seem right to me, I somehow knew he wasn't real. I wasn't scared, my younger brother who was with me couldn't even see the spirit. It just stood still staring straight at me for about 3mins.. This happened at night maybe around 10pm, in my compound.
The next day while I was going to school, I fell so sick i almost died.. I was so weak it was difficult to walk and eat. I had to be brought home by one of my teachers.. Even when I told my family my story no one seemed to care or believe. And that's the problem with HSP's.. They're usually ignored.
As God would have it, almost at the brink of death, then God touched my parents and dey listened.. They prayed for me that i wud neva see such again but ever since then it's been worse (in a good way).. I even began to see spirits that looked human, ugly demons, even saw a demon inside a girl.. I began to know witches via revelations, have scary dreams, know what would happen in few minutes, hear evil thoughts from a person.. The good thing about it all is that I later knew why I was seeing and experiencing all these and also I saw an Angel and Jesus Himself, told me things about this..
Pls lets share our experiences here, You could be helping someone without knowing it. It's difficult to tell people these things in childhood or even as we grow, but it's easier to say it here, Let's edify ourselves. God bless U all
tonytony208: let us not cover up our goof bro. We goofed big time. Our forefathers goofed big time. Alaafin and Afonja were too short sighted to see into the future. Afonja came back to himself, but Alaafin was too proud to see beyond his nose. If he had known a day like this would come, he would have helped Afonja to chase out the fulani and am certain Afonja would have accepted Alaafin as his lord afterwards. But ikúbàbáyèyé was only interested in flexing ego. I don't know if there is something yoruba land can do about this.
Aláàfin Aole cursed Yoruba land and said they will never be united.
Check out Afonja: The Rise by Tunde Leye. Very awesome book.
