Contrary to what Frankrobbn has said, I'll tell you to only make sure you have some money in your account. Even N500,000 will be enough. Don't go and borrow money or look for sponsors when you already have funding. Getting a sponsor will complicate your application and indicate desperation. Borrowing money will attract question marks as to the source of lump deposits and your rationale.

If you already have up to or more than N500,000 in your account then you're good to go. If not, get a family member, friend or close associate to gift you the money and then explain that in your SOP. The VOs already know that applicants with funding will definitely find a means of leaving Nigeria. They are more concerned with what happens when you reach Canada and your funding answers that concern.

I've seen people who applied for fully funded thesis Masters and PhDs with only N100,000 in their accounts and they were approved. Don't complicate your rather straightforward study permit application. Focus more on home ties and prospects.

Ignore what I've written if what you have is PARTIAL FUNDING.
Will the school feed him, pay his accommodation cost and his flight fare toohuh Because 500,000naira can barely buy you a flight ticket to Canada. Frank is right, atleast have like 1.5m in your account. A lot of reasons for denial this days is due to lack a funds, I will not advice u to submit 500,000k bank statement to to embassy.

BVL just dropped o. Is it a good sign or not. Has anyone gotten a call for medicals after BVL?
Not usually a good sign but someone got medical request after BVL not too long ago. So there is hope.

News update from IRCC says one can start courses online without study permit!

But it will not count for your PGWP.

Canada owe me visa and have redeemed it. Learn how to encourage people in this forum who are frustrated based on unfair decisions of IRCC towards Nigeria applicants due to the inconsistency and inefficiency of canadian visa process. There are many genuine applicants in Nigeria that has been denied unjustly.I submitted the same documents used in my third application, pointed it out to them boldly that they are WRONG in their decisions and yet got approved Canadian Vo's are human beings and can make mistakes.
You can celebrate your study permit without being petty or ignorant. The fact you got visa does not mean they owe you visa. Canada is not your country!! This is my first time of seeing people feeling entitled to someone else’s country. Your situation further buttresses what I said, if going to Canada is important to you, try again and again till u get it. Congratulations, but leave me out of this please.

Good day I was denied a Canada study visa based on this reason
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment

Please how can I respond to this situation if I want to reapply
Hi Biot34,

Sad to hear about your study permit refusal.

Based on your refusal reasons, I think u can tackle it in 2 ways:
1. Study leave letter from your current employer if you are working. It should include that they can’t wait for you to come back and apply the knowledge u gained over there blah blah. Something in that line.

2. Your SOP. Highlight how the course you are going to study will be of value to you here back home. My first degree is in environmental science and my second degree is related as well. I highlighted the environmental challenges we have here especially in the Niger Delta as a result of oil exploration etc. I hammered a lot on that more than anything else I wrote in that SOP.
Considering how my application is going I think it worked.

Good luck on your next application.

This does not make sense to me, Why would one need a visa to attend online classes? I believe the purpose of the visa is to allow entry into the country, if you will be studying online then i think it makes sense that proof of payment of fees should be sufficient for now until one needs to be physically present. It is like saying people who do online degrees need a visa? You might as well be taking an online degree at the school, does that mean one needs a visa to take online courses?
I think It’s because of the pandemic, you can start face to face when the travel restrictions have been lifted.

Hopefully you don’t get banned cry. Your chances of getting an approval after many refusals is slim. You’re already giving desperation vibes. Goodluck still
Banned for applying multiple times?? Interesting, never heard of that and I don’t think it’s correct. You can apply as much as possible, there is no limit on the number of times you can apply. Some people get the 4th application. It all depends on how important it is to u.

And note I have gotten medical request, done and passed my medicals, waiting for the next step.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by oma22: 6:10am On May 18, 2020
Please whoever is the admin of this forum should call some people to order, we are deviating from the course of this forum. When I first joined this forum I got a lot of helpful information that aided me in applying for my study permit, thanks to u all. But now there are newbies here asking questions and getting very minimal response because you people are busy complaining of how unfair the Canadian immigration system is and whether Nigerians are corrupt or not. As I said earlier, if u feel u have been denied your right or unjustly denied visa u can quietly take it up with IRCC in court. Their are immigration lawyers that will be happy to represent you.

The one thing I understand here is:
1. Canadian Immigration has quotas for issuing student visas.
They may not publish them or even admit to having them but believe me when I say that, even though you have met all of the requirements, **the Canadian Government owes you nothing.**
There are many people from many countries that view a Canadian education with great value. The Canadian Government is very aware of this. It’s therefore a sellers market.
It is also well known that a Canadian education attained with a student visa is one of the more secure paths to being granted Permanent Residency in Canada, especially if you have managed to secure some part time work in your intended field. The number of people applying to go to Canada now are not the same as the number of people that were applying in 2016. I had a cousin who went to Canada to do his undergraduate in 2011 and came back because it was too cold. Fast forward now he applied for post graduate and got denied. Then Canada was not what it is now, so situations have changed.
They get millions of qualified applicants every day but somehow they will have to filter.

If you still want to study in Canada, try again and again till u get it. It all depends on how badly u want it. Coming here to complain everyday will not give u the visa.

If my visa gets refused I will keep trying till I get it cos God knows how badly I want it.

Can we please help others with their applications, and if complaining is so important to us we can create another forum for that.

Thanks.

Welldone CULKID..Some people in this platform don't know how to talk..u re entitled to ur opinion here.@OMA.Canada owe me visa because I have fulfilled their requirements.U must surely See my testimony here..Canada granting me visa anytime will not make me not to say d truth or to discourage others.let d truth be told.IRCC has been inconsistent with d reviews towards Nigeria application.most times d don't even read our various applications. This contributes to their flimsy excuses towards us.am going for the fourth time and will testify very soon by God grace..The reasons d gave me this last time was done by error We still have genuine applicants from Nigeria.
Bro Canada does not owe u visa, I pray ur study permit gets granted but they don’t owe u shit! They have every right to stop granting Nigerian citizens visa if they please. My point is, when u get rejected, don’t bring emotions here to talk down on Canadian immigration. Nigerians are to sentimental. I wish everyone well oo abeg make una free me.

Your view is something else! My study permit was approved on the 17th of March for Fall 2020. My husband also applied for his Open Work Permit in a joint application and was approved too. One time. Never applied before and we got it in one try.

I have not had a bad experience with IRCC but I’ll still say that they have not been transparent enough with the study permit process. I have read enough experiences to come to this conclusion. None of the visa processes is transparent for Africans. Every year we are denied for reasons that don’t make sense. People are told they don’t have sufficient funds even when they’ve shown evidence they do. Some are denied for not having home ties even when leaving a husband and children behind. If we’re going to be denied, we need more than a generic reason.

Visa applications are a racket in case you don’t know. Visa fees are a significant portion of revenue for consulates and embassies around the world. About 81% of applications from Nigeria are denied! You can’t tell me it’s unfair for people to be upset and bitter.

Here’s a link for more clarity.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/qz.com/africa/1708714/canada-rejects-most-african-student-visa-applicants/amp/
Upset and bitter? Why exactlyhuh Like I don’t understand? Canada visa is not our right. They have every right to deny everyone if they like. I have not gotten Canadian visa before, I have been denied a USA visa previously but God forbid I will be upset and bitter, for what now. My dear don’t be feeling entitled to go to another person’s country, they did not beg you to apply. If u feel like applying and dashing them visa fee, go ahead. But don’t come and be disturbing us here when they deny you. I repeat, YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO A CANADIAN VISA! I don’t understand what’s unfair.

Please let this thing go abeg, I don't know how you went from discussing age limit to people who have 2:2 or 3rd class. Get hold of yourself you are taking this too personal. I don't see any problem with that guy trying to stay positive in regards to his age and all. You don't have be condescending in anyway. I am a contract staff with NLNG and most of the staff I work with here graduated with 2:2. where has my 2:1 taken me? Let's not even go there abeg.

Stick to the topic please! Lets be guided!

mikeerrr:
I do not have any problem with people working etc.

The only thing I mentioned was about people wanting the easy way out when it comes to writing just an SOP.

You will be seeing things like “please send your format”.

If they cannot write SOP now , is it uni assignments that they will write?

That’s why they will come out with poor grades and start lamenting about how there’re no jobs.

Who’s gon hire you with your 2:2 or 3rd degree without any sufficient skills or related experience.

Dunno why those maniacs came for me

Students with admission for September 2015 would be assisted in getting another admission for January 2016 or May or September depending kn the school, thats why those they are asked to come with those documents. Successful candidates who do not have them can still come and pick up their letters on Tuesday.
Nuel1647:
if u give me five minutes, I can also do this.
But more importantly, we now know the venue and people can ask about its reservations tomorrow.
why is 2015 underlined in your text message, what would a text message that long even be sent.
Finally, you already have admission letter which you got using academic reference and Transcript, all you need is the damm scholarship letter to get your visa, so why are you asked to come with them, esp as some reference were submitted online and some schools sent transcripts directly to the foreign University. I went through thesame process last year.

I'm not beefing you, just giving people the courage and hope to wait till Tuesday for confirmation. so I will highlight any hole I see.

I know you people were all nice to each other n exchanged numbers during the interview, which opens up the possibility of this being a scam.
I didn't give anyone my number last year, flew in by 8 had my interview by 10, flew back by 12. So when I saw a message (even though I wasn't expecting one) I knew it was genuine.
With or without this screenshot, let's all wait n see. Tuesday is not far away.
