As ur plan is to put fear in people by showing them the ugly part which we know to be true due to lack of accommodations at the moment, please also share with them the good news of the ones taken by Red Cross with accommodations and payment of more than 700 CAD monthly. Don't just be a prophet of doom always happy and ready to escalate bad news. Try to share good news too!

I don’t comment on here, I am just here to see wjat people’s timelines are cos I am waiting on my sister inlaws visa app. That being said I just had to comment on this because of the ridiculousness of this message. I don’t know why we Nigerians like fraudulent ways and easy way out to things. The person that posted the link is right cos Canada is changing, it’s no longer the Canada it used to be. There is an economic crisis here, the country is experiencing a surge in inflow of people and they are not well equipped economically and it weighing down on us. I am earning six figures here and I can barely get by and u are bragging about getting handout of 700cad a month as a success story. Really?! What is wrong with us Nigerians. Why not equip yourself to come here, save money, come through school or work permit. Someone it’s telling you the truth and you are calling the person messenger of doom. The 700cad govt is giving you who is paying for it?? Its Canadians who are working their arses off! Tomorrow now if they get fed up and start being racist we will complain. It’s annoying! Don’t come here to rip off a system you didn’t contribute to. The entitlement of your post is appalling.

mrkingz:
Greetings everyone,

PPR ALERT!!!
via JR in 49 days (7 WEEKS)

This is ALL ABOUT JESUS!!
He gets the Glory!!!

And to Nairaland; THANK YOU. I came in here at thread 17. Read my way through. Got all that could be got from excellent minds on this forum to pull a good application.
I hope someone gets something that can be of a good help.

So,
TIMELINE; 1ST APPLICATION
. Online submission - Jan 22 2021
. Biometrics - Jan 25
. Background check - began almost immediately
. IELTS request letter - Feb 10 2021 with deadline Mar 13
. IELTS Submitted: Mar 13
. Upfront Medical - Mar 13
. Medical updated to pass - Mar 15
. GCMS notes requested - May 3
. Refusal letter - May 27

REASONS FOR REFUSAL:
1. Personal assets and financial status. 2. Purpose of visit

. GCMS notes received - Jun 3;
When notes came in, these were my observations:
1. My 2 children ages were wrongly captured
2. That I had lump sum whereas I didn’t have any.
3. Referred to my sponsor who was my Brother In-law as ‘’Uncle’’ instead of Brother In-law. I also had my Dad as Co-sponsor.
4. There was no Senior Visa Officer's comment.
And it was during the JR process, when Rule 9 notes were requested that I got to know what the SVO's comments were. The SVO ‘‘accused me’’ of
5. not having career progression, no correlated employment history, no established relationship with my brother in-law and that even if there was a relationship, that there is ‘’no obligation’’ on him to pay for my studies!

Meanwhile, my detailed 8 paged SOP was very clear on Career progression; Mine was a career switch – from Biochemistry to Administration, With 8 years work experience cutting across Marketing, Public Administration, & currently as P.A..
My SOP was one of a story telling as I knew I had to convince the VO why the career switch.

On ‘’no obligation to pay’’; I submitted notarized gift deed, sworn affidavit of sponsorship signed by both sponsors.
I made sure I covered everywhere cover-able..yet, breakfast was served! Check out the detailed TOC attached.

So, with all the errors and wrong conclusions i saw in the GCMS notes, I was convinced that the VO was being negligent with my application. I felt I had a strong application. I decided to go for JR straight. My mind was convinced and made up!

I reached out to a Canadian law firm.
They were very professional.
And 1st things 1st; they had to re-assess my application to be sure that my application was strong enough to go for JR.
Their best hands went through it and in their own words - ''The refusal was unreasonable''. They saw that i had a good case.

A 10-paged document was prepared in my defense countering IRCC's reasons for refusal. If you see citations from previous Supreme court cases, flying around everywhere in my defense eh, omo, me ma, i was feeling good freading the whole paper work!

And yes, God's favor was all over it.

And today, 7 weeks after the application for JR/RE-determination was submitted,
It has ended in praise.

JR TIMELINE
. Submission of a 10-page document countering reasons for refusal prepared by lawyers – July 21
. Settlement offer agreed/reached – July 30
. Case open for re-determination/request for updated documents – Aug 11
. Updated documents submitted – Aug 16
. Raised web form & email informing them that I have uploaded requested docs – Aug 18
. Confirmation from IRCC that docs have been received – Aug 20
. PPR – Sep 8

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM THAT BELIEVES!
WHEN GOD IS IN IT, THERE IS NO LIMIT!

I pray for everyone waiting on their PPR, YOU TOO WILL SHARE YOUR VICTORY STORY!
Amen.

And by the way, did i mention that i just turned 40..
Wow! Big Congratulations to you! Please can I have the name and contact of the Canadian law firm you used. My sister is planning on doing a JR. Thanks

And note that I applied since 8 March and just got my PPR yesterday when people that applied September got theirs long before yesterday. What I am saying in essence is that it will come, just keep sending mails and webform as it’s the only channel of communication we have with them.

Thanks a lot bro.

I have done this thing more than 6 times last week, I just did another one again.

It's not easy bro.

Keep doing it, I did mine daily for more than a week and finally my PPR came yesterday. I believe it works, just bombard them with both webform and emails. I sent daily consecutively for more than a week. I know how exhausting it is but just keep sending

My school is on the list but I don't think that's how they're giving the approvals.

The wait is killing me o. How can I apply since May and I won't be among the first to be approved cry cry cry cry.

I can't even read well and focus because of the anxiety. I feel emotionally drained because of Canada, coupled with the unrest in Nigeria.

Truly, the journey to Canada is not for the faint hearted.

Has anyone else received BVL?

Yours is May, I applied since March 8. I received my BVL in July and since then nothing. I agree with you that the wait is killing. But we just have to keep waiting, not like we have a choice at this point. Don’t worry it will come.

Somebody has been on this thread for donkey years since 2017 and is still here actively commenting because of the goodness of his heart. Lol

If you have nothing to say please shut it, you really don’t have to say anything. I have noticed you like to run your mouth a lot.

Now I think you are going too far, please stop it!! Whoever the admin is should call this lady to order. This is highly unacceptable! Unless you have proof making such damaging assumptions you owe frank an apology! What is this forum turning into abeg. People are getting unnecessarily emotional for no reason. Frank simply encouraged someone, that people in forums you visit say they are suffering there does not mean it’s the same for everyone. You are wayyyyy out of line!

The bolded don't make sense. Of course, you don't know what you're saying. Yes, you're right AIP does not guarantee SP. IRCC made that clear.
But that IRCC is tricking students to pay tuition and save the economy? who told you that nonsense.

So why can’t IRCC do that? Because they are God abi wetin? Our slave man mentality is too much, the way we see white folks as perfect or they can do no wrong. The way some people will say “IRCC cannot do this” or “how can IRCC do that” like say they be God. If the same where to be said about Nigeria you all will believe. Frank is right! They dangle this AIP in our faces so people can go ahead and start school and yet put the clause that “they will let you know of the final decision(approval or denial), infact some people are getting AIP in 3 days! 3 days oo!! All of a suden Canada that takes 4months to process visa on a normal day dey give approval under 3 days this period they are understaffed. I hate to be the bearer of bad news here but e go shock a lot of people. Wait till you get your full approval! Defer your studies, don’t take the bait! Frank is right! This is a bait! Canada makes a lot of money from international students and they are not above baiting people to pay fees to improve economy. The way u people think this people can do no wrong is funny. You better believe it, this is a bait! We all dey here, let’s watch and see.

That's true, AIP is like recieving medical request. And in this case, AIP is even way better than receiving medical request because applicants now know for sure that they have passed the eligibility test once they receive AIP.
Yes, it is not guaranteed that Visa would be approved after receiving AIP. However, if you receive AIP, it means, you are eligible for a study permit. So, their is an extremely high and significant chance that your visa would be approved. like 95% chance.
Provided your situation did not change e.g. loosing your admission without providing a new admission letter, you can only be denied a visa after AIP, if you failed admissibility requirements such as criminality, medical grounds, submitting false information or documents, and if your sponsorship changed (e.g, death of a sponsor, if you loose your scholarship and you did not provide alternative source of sponsorship, etc). I believe that if your situation changes or if you failed any of the admissibility requirements, you will not be denied right away, VO usually give applicants the opportunity to clarify things.

The question is how often does Nigerian applicants situation changes or fail admissibility requirements? Probably 1 in 1000 chances.

Of course, it is left for applicants to decide how they feel about receiving AIP but I think their's no cause for Alarm.

You can see the link for a list of reasons your application can be denied after AIP (inadmissibility reasons)
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/inadmissibility/reasons.html

Goodluck everyone!

It would be amazing if they actually grant everyone (at least majority of the people) who got AIP visa. That would break record because even in Nairaland here we have not seen that kind of mass approval before. Even outside Nairaland a lot of people got the AIP, it was almost like they clicked a “send to all button”. I follow other forums as well and same happened to applicants in brazil and india. So I don’t blame people like Frankrobbn that are advising people not to enroll till u get your study permit. Don’t forget the AIP mail said that “they will send you the final decision (approved or Denied) when they are done reviewing. That statement alone is somehow. From my experience with this Canada people nothing is sure till you get passport request.

Well I wish everyone success and pray they all get their approvals soon.

Hope you didn’t get the generic response they send everyone. I sent them a web form and got the same generic response. The wait is tiring, since March 8 I applied.

Hi,

Pls a friend just got this email and on the account nothing has changed.
She did upfront medicals, and finger prints last year when she applied for visit visa (although rejected) now applying for study permit for PhD. All on the account is the submission confirmation since May 14th and now this email. Pls does anyone have an insight of what is happening?
Thank you in advance.

The guy that got approved few days back said the same thing. He got the message but when he checked his account there was nothing there. He checked the next day and saw his approval. So I suggest your friend should check again tomorrow.

I guess its an issue with 'updating of account'. It's possible that the eligibility review has been completed but not updated on the account.

But how have they concluded eligibility review for people who applied in June and yet people like me that applied since March 8, got my medical request in April. Did and passed the medicals in May. Yet nothing. And my school resumes September 8 and just emailed me that I will be provided letter to show at my home country border and Canadian border to enable me cross.

They will also provide 2 weeks quarantine plan including airport pickup, accommodation, food, etc for $800. They also said I have to make it to Canada before August.

So I wonder why they are so fast with people who don’t have a complete application and a lot of people with complete application are still hanging.

August 15 is approximately 3 weeks from now.

I am overwhelmed with gladness that there are well meaning Nigerians coming to my defense. I am touched beyond words.

@vibrant99, don’t start with questioning the motives but try an open your mind. With God’s grace, great opportunities are possible. The focus of the story was not about me but to encourage people and debunk some untrue believe systems that we have in Nigerian.

Yes, I had 2.2 from Nigeria. Yes, I was almost 40 years when I left the shore of Nigeria with my family and I got fully funded scholarship. My tuition was waived till $25, therefore all I have to pay every semester is $25 and fee which was less than $800 every semester. I was paid $15,000 stipend every year for 9 hours/week tutoring students in Maths Lab. Yes, i subtained my family with the stipend by knowing what to spend on. So you are wrong, I did not attended a low rated university in US neither do I graduate for Arabic language ( what is wrong if I graduated in Arabic, it might not be a good program to you, but that might be the strength of others). For your information, I graduate with Masters of Science degree in Mathematics (Option in Statistics) with a very good GPA. I left US not because I was unable to get admitted into US universities for my PhD. In fact I got over 5 universities admissions fully funded with the least stipend of 25k per year. I left because of the broken immigration laws in US and because my wife could not work but can do so legally in Canada.

Again, your statement about Canada regarding me is incorrect. I got a very generous stipend for my Ph.D program in top 10 university in Canada. I had a stipend of 36k per year as Research Assistant and extra 18k working as a Teaching Assistant. Yes, I finished my coursework with GPA of 4.0/4.0. I don’t believe for a second that I am extraordinarily. All these is possible with the assistance of God and it could happened to anybody.

Few people had contacted my over the years through this platform. I have been able to render my assistance as much as I can do. They even have my contact details which shown the authenticity of my story.

Again @vibrant 99, please do not tie people down because you don’t believe them. If you have not seen witness it, that does not mean it is not happening. My story is not unique, I have countless stories of Nigerian with merger beginnings achieving impossible high.

Lastly, the crux of sharing my stories is that nothing can stop you for achieving your dream. Not your starting place, not your age, not your accent. Only you can stop yourself.

Please hold on, keep working, keep believing. God will surely make a wake and you will smile. See you at the top !!!!!!!!

You experience is really inspiring, I wonder how people find this difficult to believe? It shows how low we set the bar for ourselves sometimes for someone to think this is impossible to achieve. It’s really sad.

Congratulations and I wish you well in your future endeavors.

Thanks for sharing.

The only time i will take you serious is when you produce some with a 2.2 that has a FULL funding in the US.

You cannot even get a FULL FUNDING to study ARABIC In south Sudan with a 2.2.

I think you mean Canada, it’s impossible in Canada but not USA. I know someone that graduated with 2:2 and has full funding in the US. I have learnt never to say never in life, anything is possible. In fact his story isn’t even that difficult to believe, that case is actually very common. Let’s not forget the reason for this forum is to share information and share stories to motivate others. When I first joined late last year this forum was so helpful, I didn’t even have to ask questions I just read information shared already and was able to comfortably fill my application. I advice new joiners to go back and read past posts because there is no helpful post here of late. It’s been arguments and discrediting other’s information, nothing really helpful to be honest. I don’t know if it’s the Pandemic frustration. Let’s all remember why we are here please. Share information and experiences not discredit other people’s info.

I maintain: IRCC said they will continue to PROCESS AND REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS, while waiting for applicants to provide them. The only thing is that no final decision will be made or anyone refused on the bases of incomplete documents.

A visa officer can process and complete an application with or without Biometrics. You have submitted enough documents to show who you are!
Canada only introduced Biometrics barely 2 years ago in 2018.

Besides, are you aware that they have given a waiver to Essential Temporary Workers who are unable to give Biometrics in their countries to get it done at their port of entries? What does thay tell you? Visa applications can be processed without Biometrics if IRCC chooses to authorize it.

Everything I have written here is verifiable on the CIC website.

Your current position is "pre-covid", right now, things are not as rigid as you're trying to make it look. As for your friend, every application is different.

I don’t see why IRCC will be in a haste to attend to applications without biometrics when a lot they have not finished attending to a lot of applications with biometrics, including people who applied since February and March. Doesn’t make sense. I feel some of this responses and updates people without biometrics are getting is not because they are attending to you application, it’s because they want to have all your documents so when u get your biometrics done there will not be any need to start asking u to do medicals and spending time again waiting. So they will feel why not just do the medicals as we await your biometrics.

And as Frank rightfully said, biometrics started since 2013 and Just go expanded in 2018.

And also IRCC has clearly stated application will not be be fully processed till they get your biometrics. I think what they are just doing now for people without biometrics is making sure the documents are all in order while waiting for biometrics.

My own car isn't a liability. Hope you'll call your phone a liability as well or even children, siblings. Some families aren't even in talking terms, yet people claim them, how much more a high value property that you personally own. By stating that my car will be leased out in my absence makes it even an asset. You must not add car to your application but I've asked my question, have received all opinions and will add it to mine especially because it is not counter productive, so what's my loss? Absolutely nothing

A car is an asset, but what we call a depreciating asset! If you spend 2 or 3 years in Canada the car u left in Nigeria has depreciated in value by a substantial amount, so it’s that enough to bring you home? Absolutely no! Sometimes google can answer the questions you people come here to ignorantly argue about. And the fact you came here to ask people’s opinions, you should not be rude when they give u answers you don’t want to hear. Nobody is paying anyone for information here, we are all giving it freely. So being nice will mot cost you anything.

Good evening everyone trust we are all doing good
Please I want to point out a few things as it has come to my notice ,not happened once or twice but keeps repeating itself as it has happened to my friends on this thread
Please those of us who claim to be SOP writers Making it seem like the statement of purpose for visa processing is Gold (We Nigerians make a really big deal out of things too much ) yes I know your SOP is meant to be Good and all .
But where you become wicked is when different individuals contact you to help write the SOP you charge that’s very fine , you get paid and instead of the writer to take out time and do a good job because you was paid for your services , No greed would allow you copy and paste what you have written for 3-4 other people... It doesn’t make sense it’s just pure wickedness and plagiarism ... please let’s endeavour to do the right things as it’s said “Do to others what you wish for yourself”
Please everyone know who you give your SOP to help you review or write cause I have seen 4 SOPs from different people that are the same on this thread
God bless us all

It’s beats me how a prospective post graduate student cannot write a SOP, I really do not understand it. Yet the same people will complain how they did everything right, had 60m in the account and still got rejected. You really think IRCC cannot see through all this?

For prospective applicants, just write your SOP by yourself, give it time and dedication and you will do great. Give to your family members who are good at writing to review for you. Don’t come here and give to fellow applicants to review. Nobody can write your SOP better than you! I don’t see why someone else will write why you want to travel to Canada for you, doesn’t make sense.
