ONE FLESH, ONE COVENANT

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; and they twain shall be one flesh… What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

— Mark 10:7-9 KJV

When the Pharisees questioned Jesus concerning marriage and divorce, He did not introduce a new philosophy or modern interpretation. He pointed them back to the beginning. He exposed the real issue: the hardness of the human heart.

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.”
— Mark 10:5 KJV

That same hardness of heart is still alive today. Humanity continuously attempts to bend eternal truth in order to satisfy temporary desires. What God established from the beginning is now being debated, redefined, politicized, and justified through human reasoning.

Yet Jesus made the matter clear.

“A man” — singular.
“His wife” — singular.

From the foundation of creation, God established the pattern:
one man and one woman becoming one flesh.

Genesis confirms it:

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
— Genesis 2:23 KJV

The union was intentional, sacred, and exclusive.

The Greek word translated as “wife” (γυναῖκα) refers universally to a woman. It does not create exceptions based on tribe, ethnicity, physical appearance, social status, age, or changing emotions. Whether she is from your village or another nation, whether beauty fades with age, childbirth, wrinkles, stretch marks, or sickness, covenant was never designed to be sustained only by physical attraction.

Love that survives only on beauty was never love to begin with.

Many people use Moses’ permission concerning divorce as justification for multiple wives or endless remarriage, but Jesus Himself explained why Moses permitted such things: because of the hardness of their hearts. Human rebellion forced concessions, but concessions were never God’s perfect design.

And even today, people continue searching for teachers who will baptize their desires with religious language.

“The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.”
— 2 Timothy 4:3 KJV

Notice the Bible says “after their own lusts.”

Not conviction.
Not truth.
Not holiness.

Lust.

That is why many no longer seek what is biblical; they seek what is comfortable. Some want Christianity without sacrifice, covenant without commitment, and truth without correction. Even some spiritual leaders now adjust doctrine to fit culture rather than calling culture back to God.

But truth does not evolve with society.

The Scripture is plain:

“A man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined unto his wife.”

The Bible did not say:
a man shall be joined unto another man,
or unto confusion,
or unto animals,
or unto every desire imagination produces.

God’s design was established from the beginning, and no amount of cultural pressure can rewrite what Heaven has already spoken.

It is simple.
It is straightforward.
And truth remains truth even when the world becomes uncomfortable with it.

Marriage
“Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life which He has given you under the sun—all the days of futility. For that is your portion in this life and in your work at which you toil under the sun.”

Realize this and find peace: your wife is the reward for all your labor under the sun. She is not a burden; she is not a failure. People are different. We have good women, seductive women, and wives. Not all women are wives.

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favor of the LORD.”
Proverbs 18:22 KJV
For the Bible to say “whoso findeth a wife,” it means you must search before you can find one. If it takes you to search, it indicates that wives are not common. The female gender exists in three forms, which I mentioned earlier.

“Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.”
Proverbs 5:15-19 KJV

You see, these instructions are very vital, and I hope you understand them. Without following this guidance, you will experience many challenges in your Christian journey.

Lastly, “Another thing you do: You flood the Lord’s altar with tears. You weep and wail because He no longer looks with favor on your offerings or accepts them with pleasure from your hands. You ask, ‘Why?’ It is because the Lord is the witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant. Has not the one God made you? You belong to Him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth. ‘The man who hates and divorces his wife,’ says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘does violence to the one he should protect,’ says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.”
Malachi 2:13-16 NIV

Do you see that? Some of you, because your wife caught you cheating, and because she was jealous and fought you, and she filed for divorce, you admit it. Even when she’s willing to stop the divorce, you say NO. Keep it up; God has your back with His hot judgment upon you and your children.
God does not joke with covenants; He said the wife of your "covenant," the wife of your youth—not the wife after your youth, not another woman. Brothers and sisters, don’t play with fire; fire doesn’t know who lit it. If you play with fire, it will burn you.

Your decisions affect your children. If I am an idol worshiper, my children will be idol worshipers because “I” choose to be one. If I decide to marry a white girl, my children will be biracial because “I” choose it. Your children can only build on your choices. Don’t ruin your life and the lives of your offspring based on your decisions. If God is your enemy, I wonder who will fight for you.

It depends, study your wife to be, personality matters. Nobody can know her better than you, if you fail to do the needful, you will pay a heavy price for it. My wife has been earning more than me for like 4 years now since we've gotten married and we have a son. Nobody knows about it, she's humble, loving and understanding. We plan on each salary, invest with hers and use mine to run other expenses like food, school fees and any other thing you can think of. We moved into our house January 2022, each time I collect loan from cooperative, we use more than half of her salary to pay the loan.
I know she's humble before I married her, we discussed this before marriage. If you see any trait of pride in a girl, pls run, it will grow with time, block third parties totally and you are good to go. Besides if your wife is well trained, from a good home, you have no problem. You have to be reasonable as a man too and not feel unsecured as a man, some things are just meant to be like that. If you try to fight it, your marriage may crumble.

JAMB made a mistake and in order to cover their shame, they resorted to pushing the blame on the innocent girl. Innoson confirmed her resulted by checking it online only for jamb to reduce it after has been awarded a scholarship. Good that the scholarship will still stand. To me she's too young to manipulate her results. For you to change your results on JAMB portal requires some level of computer mastery.

Since your husband doesn't want a house help, look for all these women that can be coming around like two to three times in a week or if she can come around everyday to help you with house chores. She won't be living with you, she will only spend few hours with you, do her job and leave.
There are terrible experiences pple have had with house helps. You won't need to house, cloth and feed these type of women unlike house helps.
