I got response from CIC today that they are not satisfied i will leave Canada at the end of my stay for the following reasons

X-Purpose of visit
X - Other reasons - Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employement, level of establishment, or your future plan

I need some advice, i have paid full year tuition fee and got convincing sponsor's account

I studied English in my first degree, and applied for English as Masters ...but currently working with a Information and management consulting firm as business analyst. I stated in my SOP that i want to be a seasoned analyst and a sociopolitical writer. I was given a study leave and introduction letter from my office ..
I submitted application paper on 17th September and got response today for January session
I am confused now..i need candid advise from the house, on what and what to do and when to re apply...thanks

I don't get. Pls you submitted your application 17th of this month or last year? And they replied you still this month What are the documents you submitted pls? UG or PG or M.Sc?? Which school?

Though I have deferred admission tilllJan, but it is reassuring that it has been settled. Again somebody "shout Hallelujah!!!!"

I'm sorry for my many questions.

1) Print out the form you want to submit, sign on it and scan it back (very costly method I must tell you).

2) I read somewhere on this thread that admission letter shouldn't be conditional. Or on the alternative, you should be able to show that you can meet the condition. But if you can clear it once, the safer. You won't be there in front of VO to answer questions.

3) Pass!

4) I got mine 1 hour after online submission on Friday. Would have gone for biometrics today but serious rain no gree.

I was refused in 2016 based on insufficient funds :
Reasons ticked : funds to transport my self to Canada and funds for living expenses .

I knew how to tackle these but I still got my GCMS notes just so I know the VO's tot process .

Applied : May 14th ,upfront medicals :

Medical changed to pass :24 th Aug and they started to review eligibility .

Application approved / passport request .7th Sept 2017 .(after two reminder mails )

Docs: submitted

1.All cic forms
2.school fees print out paid two years tuition .(27k CAD)
3 .my birth certificate and that of my sister ,I added her marriage certificate as her hubby is my sponsor (this was not in my first application ).
4.Sponsors affidavit of support.
5 .Sponsor transferred 2.5mm to my account (added his bank statement and mine) .
6.My sis bank statement(26 k CAD) savings ,she's in Canada by the way and in my SOP I stated that I had the option to stay with her .(accommodation sorted ).
7.All my employment documents ,salary increase and pay slips .
8.My house document .(Gift from my late dad.)
9.Sponsors employment documents and pay slips and in his letter he stated how much I mean to him .
10.My pension statement and Family picture of my sis and the hubby with me and kids in it .(this was to emphasize the relationship as basically I knew the VO doubted the relationship in my 2016 app )
10. Lots of prayers and trusting in God .

At the bolded above, because he/she didn't order for gcms file and scale through doesn't mean its the perfect thing to do. Its only a gamble and luckily for him or her, it really paid off.

Highly true! The only good thing is that he didn't rush to reapply even without the GCMS NOTES. Some people don't order for the notes neither do they even go back to their drawing board.

A quick advice bro/ma'am, include in your visa application that you are married and your spouse will stay back to take care of things. Back it up with marriage certificate and pics if possible. This will jack up the possibility of your TRV approval.

This is what I have been saying with regards to hometie, if your family is all you have, use them as home tie.

Mazi I used my family as hometie, only for them to say it wasn't compelling enough. That I'm single with no child. (In my GCMS NOTES). Is that not frustrating?

This PGD is actually an exception! Haba! Even an M.Sc profile rarely matches up to this. He used Ghanaian passport, has travel history all over Europe and not just U.S, lots of funds from USD to CAD to NAIRA in thousands and millions.

Original app was delayed on purpose of visit only. Addressed in the second application with Statement of purpose, CV, undergraduate degree and transcript which were not submitted with the original application.

It is indeed an encouragement. You see, this week alone eh!, out of 10 applicants, like 7 people face refusal while just 3 get approved. And this raises tension. Because a lot of people here are scheduled to resume next month.
I was refused last month based on this purpose of visit thingy, and in my GCMS NOTES V.O "blamed me for being single with no child to strengthen my hometie" . As if all Masters applicants must be married before they can be allowed to go for studies.
Now its been addressed and I hope for approval this time.
With your story now, I've been gingered. And I pray that TRV hopefuls here too shall get their own testimonies to share. Congrats bro.

I actually didn't see this part of your post when i responded to the initial post. Well, on the contrary, the federal court in Canada have on cases successfully ruled that a refused application be re-opened and a different visa officer reviews the application. This most times happen when there was an error in fact(s) and judgement, the visa officer overlooked certain documents presented at the time of application or a wrong application of the provisions of the IRCC act in reaching the final decision.

Visa officers DO NOT completely review application on discretions. They are guided by the law and the provisions of the act. Since they are humans, they may make errors which may result in a refusal. The judicial process in federal court in Canada often times address these errors but only on merit of the application.

So in most cases, it is very difficult to overturn a visa officer's decision in Federal Court with the judicial review process, mainly because this process is a 'judicial review' process, and not an 'appeal'. Even if the judge disagrees with the decision of the visa officer, that is not enough to overturn the decision. There needs to be more than disagreeing with the outcome based on the merits. Based on what I have read about the federal court cases, there have to be more than disagreeing with the outcome based on the merits and some cases are reopened and reviewed by a different officer but the risk is that the new officer can refuse same application for an entirely different reason.

Conclusively, the officers don't apply total discretion in their review. The requirements of a temporary resident visa provides that certain things be established and home ties is one of such. Discretion may apply in what holds strong in the applicant's profile in this regard.

As regards to this, is it possible that the same visa officer who denied an applicant will attend to the same applicant when he/she reapplies?

Note; I used those names as example.

Get affidavit for your real names. Do not take it for granted because you won't be there to answer questions.

Good morning All.I appreciate everyone's contribution in the house. How do I go about applying for GCMS note as I was rejected for study permit due to 1. Purpose of Vistit and 2. Would not return to Nigeria after my Masters program.

Please note that I had travelled to Canada early this year for vacation with my child (Got 5 years TV validity).
