Phocusjosh: Every department has their own quota of scholarship. Kindly contact your department for the UMGF. I got this from the department If the Department receives funding for a UMGF in 2018, the competition will be held in Feb/Mar. Applications will also be accepted at that time for other Department awards. We will let you know closer to the time when the deadline for applications is. Thanks darling. I think I can now remember my Supervisor telling me initially that my department doesn't offer funding. And that I ll have to rely only on the entrance scholarship. We ll survive sha. Half funding is better than none! |

VeecThorr: Hello,
Can someone please send the directions to reach VFS global Lekki either when you're taking your personal vehicle or using public transportation. I checked the directions in Google maps but, it is not as straightforward as when it comes from someone who's been there.
Thanks. On your way to Lekki Ajah, stop at IKate Bus stop which is the next stop after admiralty. You ll see GTBANK road entry design by your left (coming from Mainland through Ikoyi). At that same left GTBANK gate, you ll sight a huge brown edifice. It called MANOR HOUSE. Drive towards there. You ll see the rest. It was initially difficult for me too but I had to employ Google maps. |

Emmane: Hey guys....
I was just on my own when I had a move to just enquire further on this EE thing. So i spoke with a good friend from this thread who's apparently also putting more eggs in the basket (Studies TRV/EE). So she advised that I check my CRS score and below is what I had. If i was serious, who knows, would have been given an ITA by now. For those with plans to stay back in Canada and work, I'd advice, you try checking your CRS score and prepare for EE, you never know what you can get. For those who are yet to write English testing Exams like IELTS, you can put an assumed score, while checking your CRS, while working towards getting your IELTS. She further said, dual Intent wont hurt. While waiting for TRV, fetch another egg (EE) and put in the basket.
Goodluck to all TRV hopefuls. Me inclusive Pls elaborate, cos the abbreviations above is not clear. My brother-in-law sponsor resides in Canada. Though I'm married, will a relation in Canada fall my TRV potentials? |

Mehn! It differs oh! Someone studied Microbiology and still got Nursing at BRANDON. Though the fellow was initially denied based on insufficient funds only, he refired and was approved. Another studied Engineering as UG and applied for Disability Studies. He was given TRV at just one sitting. This applicant should give more convincing and detailed linkage of his two courses. He should outline the professional and economic benefits of the intended course. This still boils down to a sound SOP. My opinion though. bbclue: Biochemistry and nursing are not similar. ...why not chose something closer to it. ... |

Thanks a lot Kalohenic The person to pay is my brother-in-law who resides in Canada. He's supposed to be my co-sponsor, but because of payment of tuition rigours, we had to swap. We actually intend to reapply with the tuition fees cos I've missed September resumption, I don't want to miss January Winter. That's why I had to double up. I completed my NYSC this year. So no Masters degree yet. kalohenic: Sorry to hear about the delay.
Regarding your first question, it depends. Most schools in Canada uses Western Union Globalpay (a third party) which enables you to make payment from most countries. So this won't be an issue, all you need do is state your student ID number while filling the form on the site. You would forward the copy sent to your mail to the person to make the payment.
Regarding question 2. You could either get the person making the payment to be a Co sponsor with your husband as main sponsor. In addition, you would have to mention the relationship you have with this person and give convincing reasons why the person chose to support your education (it's easier if the person is a close relative). Also try to ensure that your husband has sufficient account balance and properties which validates his capacity to sponsor you while he's able to take care of other dependents.
Or if the person is a business partner of your husband and you can prove that he or she is indebted to your husband in any way to warrant the payment on his behalf, this would also suffice.
Regarding the reason for the refusal, you might need to check and ensure that the course you are going for aligns with your first degree course and that it is a higher certificate you are going for ( that's if you already have a masters prior to this)
These are my opinion.
Meanwhile, order for your gcms note and also share your full profile here for better insight |

ayotho: Good morning everyone. Pls if l may ask, is it compulsory that my uncle who is my sponsor pay some amount of money in my account before l applied for the student visa to show his commitment?. He has already paid the deposit fee required by the school on my behalf? Thanks My opinion though, I think he should just pay your tuition fees. Thats where his commitment will reflect. I'm not sure CIC cares about who applied for visa for you or not. The koko is your financial potentials for your study. Visa application is just the 1% stage of the whole affair. Gurus in the house pls help. I'm learning too. |

Goodevening people. I've been following this thread and it has been highly informative. I was denied last month cos of Purpose of visit and traveling history. I have partial funding for my M.A. Now I want to reapply as a married woman and my husband as the sponsor. The question is; 1) Can someone else resident in Canada pay my tuition fees for me other than my sponsor husband? 2) Because I want to include the tuition fees receipt to reapply, will there be a problem if its being found that my sponsor husband didn't pay my tuition as explained in my SOP?
PLS WHAT DO I DO? |

dapoddon: Alright, cool. Hope your program has a January start date? If it has then you shd probably defer. In the interim, while you order for your GCMS, pls share your profile and documents submitted so the house can give inputs. Thanks dapoddon, I've ordered my GCMS notes and they've started working on my file. I just wanna ask, is marriage a good home tie. I mean picture yourself as my V.O and i present my case to u that in married with the obligation to return and resume my marital duties after studies. Does it sound like it can be considered? |

fiendishghoul: So sorry, try and defer ur admission to January, then order for ur gcms note here www.gcmsnow.com, tackle the actual reasons for denial before reapplying. Lack of travel history is usually not a stand alone reason for denial. Thanks a lot. I've visited the GCMS website but I don't know how to navigate my way. I saw a 'search' column there. Pls what do I type in to get my details. Pls help. Thanks. |

dapoddon: Omalicha, sorry for your delay. I think your sponsor who is your sister and domiciled in Canada was the issue, hence the not sure you'll return after studies. Proving home ties at this point becomes expedient. You should order ur GCMS for more explicit reasons anyway. What MA program are u going for in U of M? Masters in Disability Studies. Mass Communication as first Degree. Linking the two by addressing Disability issues with communicative strategies. |

glam4444: There is no legal requirement for you to have a history of international travel to be admitted into Canada. If the visa officer saw a problem with your lack of travel history, this probably means that the rest of the application was weak. If there's anything you can do to significantly improve some other section of the application (ties to home country such as family, pre-purchased airline tickets, proof of finances, etc), it can help you. Thanks Bro. But regarding this, is it feasible for me to use my husband as home tie. Though we wedded recently. Just few weeks after I applied. |

Goodevening guys. I applied for visa on the 11th of May after I was offered admission for M.A September 2017 Fall at UofManitoba with partial funding. My sis who is my sponsor also resides in Canada.
Unfortunately for me my visa was denied yesterday because V.O claims I don't have travel history and he's not sure I ll return after studies.
House, I want to reapply. Pls I need your ever - reliable advice(s).
Thanks. |
