dearpreye: Interesting. Really interesting.
Amidst the turmoil of corruption, mutual ethnic distrust and struggles, we must not lose that vital element of our humankind. That's very vital.
Kudos to all the great comrades and pioneers of this precious forum. The attacks and counter attacks have forced me to also hit the history books with such fierceness I've hitherto never had.
Deeply within us, I believe, lie the genuine compassion we feel for other Nigerians, though primitive leadership has forced us to be at each others throats.
It's my deepest desire that someday the loud voices calling for restructuring will be heeded to, and a new Nigeria shall emerge -- one that will all will be proud to call our own.
Thanks, OP! What more can I say... |

MayorofLagos: Rate of business failures alarming in South-East – ECCIMA President
By Emmanuel Uzodinma
The new president of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA, Rev. Surveyor Ugochukwu Chime has expressed worry over the rate business owners are closing shops in the South-East zone of Nigeria.
Chime, who spoke on the occasion marking his installation as the new president of ECCIMA and the induction of over 25 members in Enugu, said “the rate of business failures have so much accelerated that it has induced fear into investors, especially local investors who do business without the economies of scale being enjoyed by multi nationals.”
While identifying the various challenges standing before his leadership, he observed that revenue accruing to the various levels of government in the country had in the past two years reduced by over 50 percent, stressing that ‘this has resulted in its inability to run government and execute capital projects effectively.”
“We are faced with over 60 percent unemployment amongst the youths, with the school leavers being the worst hit, leading to anger, frustration, high rate of crime and insecurity of lives and properties
“It is now easier and faster for global socio-economic challenges to affect our people in the remotest part of our villages, resulting in what they do not know, affecting and devastating their means of livelihood”, he further stated.
The ECCIMA President, however, assured that with his team, the ECCIMA under his leadership would focus on human resource development, membership and development, promotion of commercial agriculture, industrial training and entrepreneurship.
In his speech at the event, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi commended the Chamber for her achievements, particularly the cordial relationship between the Chamber the organised private sector and the government and people of Enugu state, which he said had boosted entrepreneurship, poverty eradication strategies and skill acquisition in Enugu State.

Tolexander: Nobody is telling you not to practice your religious obligations. There are sometimes when right things are done at the wrong place and time.
What about practising the religious obligations at the detriment of other people like what happened in Kaduna where ablution was done in front of another believer's shop? Of course there are many places for ablution apart from that place. You make a lot of sense- private spaces and other such boundaries should be respected in the course of exercising one's freedom/rights of worship/religion. The only problem here is that the title of the article is so damn misleading. I do not blame the op though, I put that squarely on the newspaper. |

HungerBAD: This man should be cautioned.
The words of leaders are easily misconstrued,as this statement can be read by some to mean kill those not in support of Islam.
What does he mean fight anybody or group attempting to stop them from their religious obligations?we're the Muslims stopped anytime in Nigeria from being Muslims?
This is how Religious embers are stirred. Not surprised anyway,as he was not suppose to be on the throne anyway,if Dasuki was not deposed. I'm disappointed in you. Should have spared a moment to read the article knowing how much propaganda fly in the air these days- the title just mislead you. Somebody should please read this: “When somebody or a group or some other nations decide to stop us from performing our religious obligations, we must never take laws into our hands. We must not be law officers. We do not do that in Islam.
“We do not force anybody to join Islam. There is no compulsion in Islam.
“Our good deeds, good actions and good interactions as Muslims will give that very bright light to everybody what Islam is and that is what brings people to join us.
“Those who do not want to come as Muslims are free to stay with us and continue working with us to make this country a much better place.
“Whoever wants to fight you, do not fight him; leave him alone. Be very patient. ..and tell me how it conforms with this topic!! Some people are just too desperate to instigate religious crisis in this country. That strife they are looking for will dwell only with them and their immediate households, amen. |

The doubts he has over his future is obvious in these remarks, yet he still says crap just to appear dogged and resilient, and maintain the loyalty of his "fans".
The only impetus needed to sink this man's ship is the provision of a good padding/cushion to the Senate President over the area of the floor upon which he'd strike when he falls and he won't hesitate for a split second to throw Ekweremadu's ass under a furcking train.
He (DSP) of all people should know that, just as he should know his position's umbilical cord is his relationship with the SP. |

Ekweremadu must have been there since forever, but he still sounds like a novice.
Politicians would always act like politicians Mr man. Once a good padding/cushion is provided the Senate President on the area of the floor upon which he'd strike when he falls, he won't hesitate for a second to throw your ass under a furcking train.
You of all people should know that, just as you should know your position's umbilical cord is your relationship with him (the SP). |

charix: It's a form of population control. The more youths who kill each other over an assumed rivalry the less the total population for the winner to rule. The less population to rule the more looting which the winner can carry out in future; more dead people equal more resources for one man, his family and future generations. |

bejeiodus: That ship has sailed; his removal will remain a mere wish. The APC needs to tread with caution, lest they plunge the Senate into chaos. Baba leave mata for Mathias. They'd bring back the damn ship to the harbour and anchor it, and nothing, I repeat, nothing, will happen. |

Tolexander: trying to play a "religious victim" card to attract and appeal to people's pity and attention.
He mentioned the number of churches in the community and every other structures but failed to mention the number of mosques, trying to act as if it is an absolute christian community just because the Governor is a Muslim. That is just the truth. I'm very sure if one goes behind the headlines, one would find, perhaps, that more Mosques than Churches have been marked for demolition. But trust Vanguard not to bother to make enquiry for more details since this narative sits just fine with their agenda. |

Look at them pretending to want to rip each other apart, but they'd never come so close as to throw a fist- rather, they'd commission some ignorant asssholes who call themselves youths, arm them, and have them kill themselves for nothing.
May the soul of any youth who dies for reason of these two men's rivalry roast in hades, amen. |
