Politics › Re: Governor Ortom Unable To Pay Salaries After Borrowing N60 Billion In 7 Months by omenka(m): 4:12am On Jan 26, 2016
EasternLion:
Omenka, how far?

You are clowning on Biafra issues, while your Benue is perpetually under bondage.
I've always been very critical of Ortom's style of government even though he's an APC governor. I've talked about his owing salaries, complaining of paucity of funds while the fool went ahead to purchase cars for officials worth N1.5billion!!

The man so far is a huge failure, just like the governor before him, G. T. Suswam. If he continues on his current trajectory, the people of Benue would give him the boots in 2019, that I'm very sure of.

I've also criticised Akume and D-Mark several times here and insist they are not the kind of leaders we need. (Though Akume did quite a lot of good in his 8year leadership, he's now become some sort of demigod in the state installing whoever wherever).

Now, unlike me who could think things through dispassionately and criticise my own people when they do wrong and commend those different from me (like Muslims or the Hausas and Fulanis or even Igbos) you people are religious and tribal bigots and would see nothing wrong with whatever one does as long as he's a PDP member or an Igbo man.

Yall hate Okorocha and Ngige simply because they mingle with Northerners and belong to APC- what sense is there in that?? You hate ALL Muslims and hate ALL South Westerners except the blabbermouth cvnts FFK and Fayose simply because they are who they are and not because they did you wrong in any particular way- what sense is there in that??

Lastly, I will keep commenting on whatever topics and threads I wanna comment on as long as Nairaland remains a public forum and I'm not breaking the Rules- I'm afraid there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it.

Thanks.

OldJohn:
Nobody is promoting a north vs south enmity. The north are praising him for being a traitort to the south.
But it will be foolhardiness to believe north will betray theirs for a southerner
For being a "traitor to the south"?? Did he make any deal with the South that he reneged on?? Must everyone from the South support a Southern candidate in an election?? Are the people in the North who voted for PDP traitors as well?? Are all those from the North who threw their weight behind Jonathan in 2011 that saw to Buhari's defeat traitors as well??

This traitor crap is totally nonsensical.

The traitors ya'll should direct your anger and hatred towards are those politicians who SWORE to uphold the constitution (using the Bible and Quran) and work towards the common good of the country only to turn the pages into toilet papers soon as they assume office- those are the TRAITORS.

"For standing up to Southern Nigeria" huh??

Epkas, when would you people have even a glimmer of sense??

This desperation to pull Amaechi down at all cost and promote a North vs South enmity is becoming irritating. All you people do is tell us tales about how one tribe, religion or region is trying to lord it over another.

Why is there so much hate in your hearts?? Na wa oo.

Before you ran of tissue, just ask yourself this question: When Metuh was moving his errand cash about did he mention about some inconsistency and preferential treatment on how you and your family can equally get your share of the Santa Clause Dasuki's generosity? No!!
Despite everything you have heard and seen, many of you are still warped in ethnic political against the reality in front of you. These men are wicked and when it comes to sharing what belong to you and everybody, they don't care about tribe or language.
Why should you care?

This is really shameful and goes to show what I've been telling Seun, Mynd44, Lalasticlala and all those who care to listen or read as the case may be.

Some people are simply shameless and would stop at nothing to bring this govt down or drive a wedge between the party leaders.

Your argument is merely emotional so I am not surprised it is highly ignorant. It is the job of every finance minister to find ways to raise non-oil revenue, i.e diversify our mono economy, and indeed Adeosun makes this her priority. Even NOI touted this publicly (see below) but we all now know she succumbed to helping GEJ and co loot Nigeria while supplying the "robust economy" lies to fool the world even when we had started to borrow to pay salaries. Tragic you guys continue with the sadistic defence of the failure called NOI.

Let me ask, which court of law convicted them that they had to receive such brutal "justice"?? What differentiates them from Olisa Metuh on whose behalf some people are threatening to burn the nation to the ground simply because he was handcuffed??

The actions of Metuh and other politicians played big rules in the making of many of these youthful crooks we see all over. Had monies meant for their education, employment, etc not been embezzled, perhaps they would have turned out more useful to the society.

Politics › Re: The Defeat Of Boko Haram Is Now An Accomplished Fact- Leadership by omenka(m): 11:22am On Jan 25, 2016
Someone once asked how they were defeated and with what arms since it is said all arms monies were stolen by Santasuki and his gang. Below was my response:

Look at it this way- Boko Haram no longer gets the kind of funds it used to get from their sponsors (since most of them are on the run after Baba came in). Remember it was Jonathan himself who said they've infiltrated his government. Also recall some officials alleged that truckloads of arms confiscated by the customs at their entry point up north were released on orders from Dasuki who sent soldiers in trucks to ask customs officials to stand down- it was alleged the weapons were meant for insurgents.

Now, Baba has ensured:

1. The insurgents are starved of funds since just by his emergence. Most people who had access to federal coffers and leverage on that to ensure the sustenance of the war by funding the insurgents no longer do. The funds to procure supplies and pay salaries of fighters are no longer there. By funding the terrorists, they ensure the war drags on and ensure hefty defence contracts keep coming to them.

2. Transport and supply routes of the insurgents have been blocked. We saw pictures and read several accounts of how boats and ferries carrying fuel and other supplies for the terrorists were intercepted and destroyed in some cases.

3. The insurgents have been experiencing food shortages- you can't fight on empty stomach.

4. The moral of our men in uniform have been boosted tremendously as there now appears to be genuine concern for their needs. The reversal of the sentences of those who mutinied for lack of arms to engage the terrorists also helped in this regard.

It is often said that to end an insurgency, uproot its source of funding. You may kill all the insurgents you want, but if a single terrorist has access to sufficient funds, he can cause catastrophic destructions wherever, whenever. Imagine a terrorist having access to a nuclear bomb or chemical weapons- all these are acquired using money.

All these and others put together helped to degrade the capacity of the terrorist and the lull we are witnessing is due to those facts.

The war hasn't "ended" as you put it, but the end is definitely in sight.
It is all I can say here as well.
