Politics › Re: Fuel Crisis Cripples Nigeria by omenka(m): 5:28pm On May 24, 2015
Jonathan seems to have practically gone blind, deaf and dumb. He's totally unperturbed by the raging economic crises in the country, after all, we rejected him at the polls.

This was the same man that showed the world what a "caring" president he is by paying compensation to victims of the immigration recruitment tragedy couple of days before the election, reducing electricity tariffs, and reducing the official pump price of PMS.

Where is his much touted spirit of sportsmanship?? How much longer can he continue to play possum when the country he preside over burns?? Do we have to apologise to him for making a choice after our hearts and minds??

This is simply a confirmation of most of the things that have been said about the man; that he's a pretentious mean and vindictive guy.
Politics › Re: Stop Blame Game, Get Ready For Extradition Proceedings, NDLEA Tells Kashamu by omenka(m): 5:14pm On May 24, 2015
Buruji Kashamu says he's different from the guy who's been declared wanted in the US, we read it here.

Now, the Big Question is, why is he so darn afraid going to clear his name??

If I were to be wrongly accused and hounded by such people, I'd rather be happy. I'd go to court, clear my name, and slam the agencies with litigation that would see them paying me millions of dollars in damages.

I just don't understand why he'd wanna commit suicide for a "wrongdoing" he knows he's innocent of.

I just don't get it.
Politics › Re: Transition C’ttee Gives Buhari Interim Report Without Jonathan’s Govt Input by omenka(m): 4:49pm On May 24, 2015
Such a big shame. This government has chosen to remain petty to her very last day. When the APC raised an alarm the transition committee from Jonathan's side was being lackadaisical in its approach to the transition, Olisa Metuh, Abati and co went to town to call them all manner of names, now look at what we have on our hands.

I bet it would serve the Nobel Price "deservee" well if Nigeria is totally reduced to an economic and political recluse of herself.

Don't understand why adults would be acting this way.

We are still here and do not regret our actions. Corruption is the problem and not subsidy. From next week we will start knowing the source of the 3 trillion spent by PDP in the election. The marketers will also explain where they got d cash contributed towards PDP campaign since they claim they are being owed.
God bless you!! These guys just simply can't understand that, or they do but keep living in denial.

mekaboy:
Those that wanted to crusify Gej and Okonjo iwealla when they asked for removal of subsidy. Can u see who the real enemies are now?

If subsidy was removed back then, by now petrol wont be scarce and it would not be more than 120 now. But today, we gladly by for 300-400 if we see.

Those that brought u food and drinks during the protest are the ones ensuring u pay with ur blood.
I don't know how old you are but you sound very childish and ignorant. I could reply you with a comment I replied someone else with on another thread:

If corruption is eliminated to a large extent, we wouldn't be paying this price for subsidy.

You and I saw from the reports of the HoR,
which was eventually rubbished by Jonathan
himself by setting up Farouk (who by the way,
due to his greed, took the bait) Lawan using one
of the major beneficiaries of the fraud indicted
in the report, Otedola, how names of ships
which had long ago formed coral for sea
creatures surfaced in our books claiming to
have imported fuel!! In other cases, we saw
multiple duplication of claims. Do you think had
Jonathan not played posum and pampered
these crooks we would have been where we are
today??

How come despite the corruption in previous
administrations, none had to grapple with such
perversion of the subsidy regime by crooks in
high places?? If their templates for monitoring
helped in keeping such crooks at bay and
maintaining subsidy expenditures at sustainable
levels, why did Jonathan do away with such
templates
This whole mess is just as a result of corruption which Jonathan condoned.

Again:

I was one of those who supported and actively participated in the protests. So what??

The question any right thinking Nigerian should be asking is: What necessitated the geometric rise in subsidy expenditure in an election year? Was there a corresponding percentage rise in
consumption/demand of the products??

All through history, we never paid that much, all of a sudden after jonathan became the
president, the amount went over the roof and
you imagine no one should ask questions.

Is that how you imagine you would run your
Biafra if it comes to fruition?? Are you folks even
thinking at all??
You guys need to grow some sense and think like people with brains for once.

No more room for impunity.

The president's wife as well must be made to tell us what kind of work she does that gave her the money to build that hotel in Bayelsa.

The governors too must come clean on how they acquired such scandalous wealth over such short periods of time.

PassingShot:
The fact is that for any nation to move in the right direction and progress toward real development, each and every government must be held accountable for her actions and inactions. Only when people realize that they will be called to answer for their deeds and misdeeds would they behave reasonably.

I know many TANoids will argue that for Buhari to probe GEJ or any of his ministers, he must first probe IBB, OBJ and many before GEJ. What they are not mindful of is the fact that President Buhari cannot probe all but he is morally obliged to look into actions of his immediate predecessors and not all before him.

If he does this, Nigeria will have taken a very giant step in moving towards accountability.

Wow!!

She makes attempts at justifying this, stating salaries and what not but forgot to state the inexplicable leap in expenditure on subsidy which must have contributed in no small measure to the rise in our debt profile.

Please who's got the official twitter handle of this woman? I'd like to ask her what accounted for the nearly 500% rise in subsidy payments, from a mare 380Billion to over 1.8trillion, just after Jonathan took over. There has to be an answer.

In addition, under NOI herself, Nigeria got debt relief from her creditors, a much celebrated feat credited to her negotiation prowess. We sag her praises to high heaven then as she declared "Nigeria is debt free"!! That was just 10 years ago under Obasanjo!! Now what the hell is she telling us?? That she liedhuh
