Sweetguy25: Unfortunately, That has been the pattern for the six - seven years. Check our budgets for last six years and check the amount on subsidies.
Our budgets have never exceeded 4 trillion naira but our subsidy expenses has been constantly above 1 trillion. We know the policy under the current admin is fraught with fraud as revealed by the various committees set up to investigate it. I need sources by the way. I wonder why it is so difficult getting information about Nigerian government online. |

of all the names you mentioned, who among them was charged by EFCC or did the EFCC say they were asked not to charge the names you singled out.
you are really funny.
use google to find out what the anti graft agency is doing and find out what is holding them from doing further, Jonathan will not do everything .
dont we have national assembly, if Jonathan is shielding anybody from prosecution what is the national assembly doing about it or GEJ stronger than the entire national assembly put together.
you are really a bigot. Let me ask you this question. Jonathan is a human being right?? And as a human being, he isn't perfect right?? Now, WHAT PROBLEM confronting Nigeria exactly can we BLAME jonathan for?? Just name a single one. |

This has got to be the most laughable thing I've ever seen!! 2009 budget as passed by NASS was 3.06Trillion, and someone wants to tell us 1/3 or over 33% of the budget was spent on subsidy!!!
Op are you listening to yourself??
Could you quote some other sources for us??

Op, this is what should bother you: After all the Abracadabra fuel subsidy committees, those of us who had patience to read through all the reports got to know that the number of fuel importers rose from 19 in 2009 to 140 in 2011.
Many fuel importers existed only on paper and collected subsidies for fuel they never imported or supplied. Thus, Nigeria's Fuel Importers were paid for 59 million litres per day, while the country's storage capacity and consumption was 35 litres per day. How did that happen? Chief Emeka Wogu was Minister of Labour and Productivity in the same government as Okonjo-Iweala until October 2014 when he voluntarily resigned to contest for governorship of his State in Southeast.
In 2011, Chief Emeka Wogu collected the sum of N2.7 billion for fuel subsidy he claimed to have supplied through his Company, Pinnacle Contractors Limited.
In that Company, Emeka Wogu had 750, 000 shares, while Mrs Oyebabefe had 150, 000 shares and Mr Enyinnaya Wogu 100, 000 shares.
The vessel which Emeka Wogu claimed to have delivered imported fuel in Nigeria was no where to be found anywhere in the world much less anchoring in Nigeria.
It was found that Pinnacle Contractors Limited was not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), an absolute condition necessary to be fulfilled in order to qualify to import and supply fuel.
Pinnacle Contractors Limited was not registered with CAC until Friday, 30 November 2012. Similarly, the Minister of Aviation until October last year when she was eased out of the government following the $ 1. 6 million armoured cars scandal, Mrs Stella Ada-Eze Oduah, owned 1,999,000,000 shares out of N2 billion shares in the Company named Sea Petroleum and Gas (SPG). The remaining shares were shared between other Directors identified as Elisabeth Stewart, Josephine Oduah and Erotomi Buwa.
Stella Oduah's company was found to have fraudulently collected a total of N1, 019, 571, 609 (almost N1.02 billion) for fuel subsidy that was never supplied. Patrick Ifeanyi Uba is a well known brain behind Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) who claimed to have secured 18 million signatures across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria endorsing President Jonathan's re- election bid. But before that, 43 years old Patrick Ifeanyi Uba from Umuanuka in Otolo, Nnewi, has been the Managing Director and chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and Gas that deals with importation, storage, distribution, trading and retailing of oil products. When he was found to have collected billions of Naira for unsupplied fuel he ran to Aso Rock which sheltered him from the consequence of looting Nigeria. #Leadership Jonathan style..... The sons of Ahmadu Ali and co haven't even been mentioned. Op, the question you should be asking is- what has happened to these people so far |

socialmediaman: This is very revealing. Nigeria has grown tremendously, you can't deceive them anymore with bogus achievements or academic qualifications, they Now see through, they'll dissect and expose you. The world may not know immediately, but we Nigerians know, and the world will also know in due time.
I continue to maintain that Nigeria's finances were outrageously mismanaged under the Goodluck Jonathan's administration and under her watch as minister of finance and coordinating minister of economy
God Bless Nigeria This is what I've been hammering on. In my post on the other thread, I erroneously said the importers were about 48 before they climbed to about 150 soon after Jonathan took over, meanwhile, they were just 19!!! Imagine a company not registered under CAC given license to import fuel!! Somehow, this implies that the company wouldn't even be paying Tax to firs!! If one were to go back to those subsidy reports, I wonder..... Honestly I'm speechless now. |

An extensive review of government papers, contracts, court documents, newspaper articles and interviews with people who knowledgeable about the deals and agreements by PREMIUM TIMES shows that the project has been repeatedly torpedoed by executive high- handedness, mind-boggling corruption, sheer irresponsibility of government officials and asinine abuse of power. ...while Mr President was busy smiling to cameras and taking pictures. Sometimes one wonders how Nigeria manages to survive amidst all these.

Politics › Re: Subsidy 101: Q &A On Subsidy. by omenka(m): 10:46am On May 27, 2015 |
Interesting!
I have just a few questions.
1). How much were previous administrations paying for subsidy??
2). How much did Jonathan pay on assumption of duty as the president and in subsequent years as president??
3). What necessitated the geometric increase in the expenditure on subsidy soon after Jonathan took over?? It was about 300billion on the budget but burgeoned to nearly 2trillion at the end of the fiscal year. Was there a corresponding increase in the demand of products to have warranted such increase in "supply"?? Did Nigeria get thirstier for petroleum products??
4). Was there any supplementary budget passed by the NASS to accommodate the increase as stated in #3??
5). There were about 40 importers of products prior to Jonathan's regime. After he took over, the list went over the roof to about 150!! What was the reason behind this??
#waiting.

Don't get me started Mr. We had a first lady that used to be seen and heard from like every other day, Stella Obasanjo, but you know how she held her own. You definitely can't compare both of them, not in conduct nor in appearance. This lady was too damn garrulous and uncouth, insulting people both innocent children [recall "born throway"] and the elderly [recall "brain dead"], admonishing violence and killing [recall "stone anyone who shouts CHANGE"] in utter disregard for what is expected of a "woman" and most especially, one that occupies her position.
