nduchucks: How come all the goats in the truck died and not a single goat survive the accident Something smells fishy here.
The truck driver must be investigated to ensure that he did not offload 80% of the goats before he orchestrated this accident. As for the people who were taking the goats away for Easter, you did the right thing. I mean, what else should happen to dead goats? Do you want to bury them? Go back and read my second post. Has been edited to reflect what I eventually learnt. I thought it mysterious too. Some did survive. |

sonnie10: That route is towards Onitsha, mostly used by Igbo livestock traders. Toh. A lot of people think only Hausas and Fulanis trade cow/goats. They don't know it is a hugely profitable business even they themselves could engage in given the opportunity. |

juman: They did not steal the goats.
The abokiis that owned them would have thrown them away. They are haram meat. How are you sure "abokiis" own them It is a very wrong notion thinking only northerners (Hausas and Fulanis) trade such livestock. |

Collynzo9: From consumption of dead and possibly contaminated goats. Something similar happened in Delta state some time ago, though it involved chickens. they didn't die from diseases. They died from physical trauma and did just a couple of hours ago. So there is no likelihood whatsoever for an outbreak of any epidemic. |

PapiWata: Ha ha ha Omenka don add "Graphic Pictures" to the title. Come and see h ow as dem go dey rush am now ha ha.
On a serious note, I have never seen so many dead goats sine the last time I attended a marriage in the village. If the police do not show up in time to convey the dead goats safely to their wives kitchens for autopsy and burial in pepper soup, I anticipate there will be a mad rush of area boys, who will likely even butcher and share the meat on the spot, while exchanging blows and smashing windscreens of passing cars.
Omenka, as a precaution while you record more of these important pictures, I suggest you hire an Okada motorcycle to load the two goats that I asked you top reserve for me, and let him take my share away first, while you remain there to record the news for us. It was a complete disaster oo my brother. Town service buses evacuated their passengers and started loading dead goats unto their buses. Had you been there, you would have felt really sorry for those traders. They were so helpless. Nigerians no dey try at all. Not a single goat survived. Very mysterious if you ask me. Modified: From what I gathered later, some indeed survived. So it isn't so "mysterious" after all. But the casualty figure is quite high. |

idupaul: See as the man in red shirt and his son are taking away a goat that doesn't belong to them to feast on it . Trust Benue people and meat. They can kill for it. It was a sorrowful scene honestly. Those guys couldn't even pay at least 5K each for those goats. They were just yanking them and taking off. The merchants tried to fight them off using sticks but they were overwhelmed by the sheer number of the "thieves". It was a hopeless situation. Really felt sorry for them. We are talking about millions here. |

Was en route Abuja this morning and came across an accident scene involving a bus and a trailer full of goats. There were no human casualties in sight but hundreds of goats died in the accident. Passers by and residents took advantage of the lack of security presence in the scene to take what they can for easter. I felt sorry for the merchants. The loss can only be imagined.

This is the season PDP propangada machine has the opportunity to shine...... they have less than two months. Frank Nweke Jnr did a splendid job back then. Wish Buhari can find someone like him. |

The only difference between TAN and Patience Jonathan/Fayose is that it has no gender.

I kept imagining what they would have told Nigerians had Super Eagles won that qualifier march in Akwa Ibom stadium, because they had already come prepared to turn the event into a political rally. |

Politics › Re: This Man Will Head PDP After May 29 by omenka(m): 7:35am On Apr 04, 2015 |
That is the greatest harm Jonathan caused PDP. He made sure people/elders who were more or less the soul of the party (even though most of them are corrupt) were reduced to nothing but onlookers in the scheme of things. He elevated thugs, convicts, and militants with no appeal beyond their little enclaves to positions of king makers. Imagine what might have been the case had Jonathan simply sacrificed Kashamu to get Obj...
The only hope of survival PDP has now is Abdulsalami. I believe he could reach across board and bring back the likes of Obj, Danjuma, IBB into the fold. We need a strong opposition to keep the incumbent party in check. |

killerman47: bro did u really writedis wearing your thinking cap? Like seriouslyy? So d APC lawmakers should avoid making the community as normal as it should be? In which sane clime will someone like Obanikoro be appointed as a minister(despite charges against him) and fayoshe be allowed to thrive without proper investigation and equitable sanctionss appropriated to him. Please we all want a better nation where people will be held accountable for their actions(reasons why most of us voted out the clueless otuoke man) . We should be seen supporting the trajector Nigeria is pacing; not allowing statusquo; for the fear of what people will say or think. The thing tire me oo. The thug shouldn't even be allowed to sign a single contract document in that state anymore. He stole the mandate and worst still ran his office like a mad man would. The earlier they evict him and have him face charges, the better for the people of Ekiti. |

Obiano seems to be a reasonable man, focussed and mature. He should remain in his party and rally men of like minds to form a strong opposition party that could mitigate likely excesses from APC.
Much as I support APC, one cannot deny the importance of having a vibrant opposition. It is the only way to deepen democracy and promote good governance. |
