Leke Adeboye, the Senior Personal Assistant of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has apologised to pastors in the church for referring to them as ‘goats’.

The Nation had reported Leke rebuked some RCCG pastors who preached after his father’s sermon last Sunday in parishes across the nation.

The cleric’s son apologised on Thursday on his Instagram page over the statement, which generated a lot of backlashes from followers and church members.
The statement titled: ‘My sincere apology’ reads: “I wish to use this medium to tender my unreserved apologies on the statement made from my social media handle about some of our esteemed Pastors.

“The disciplinary measures taken by the mission is well received and this period will be used to reflect and introspect.

“I wish to crave your indulgence to please forgive my extreme statement which I wish to emphasise was absolutely not intended to insult or malign.

“I also wish to apologise profusely to the entire leadership and Pastors of our beloved Church who might have been hurt by this statement.

Zamfara Sate Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has distributed 260 cars including Cadillac to the traditional rulers in the state.

The distribution was done by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, at Government House, Gusau on Wednesday.

The Sultan expressed gratitude to Matawalle for his interest in the welfare of the traditional institution, which he said still remains the thread that holds society together.



He also called on the beneficiaries of the gesture to continue supporting the administration of Governor Matawalle by rendering their best in ending the challenges facing the people.



Matawalle said the gesture was done in recognition of the status of the traditional institution as the custodians of religion and culture and vehicle of cohesion and peace in societies.

“It is in view of the high esteem with which my administration regards our traditional leaders and institutions that we decided to procure brand new cars, Cadillac 2019 Model, for 17 Emirs, 13 Senior District Heads and 230 District Heads across the State," the Governor said.

The United States announced that they completed their second successful test flight of a hypersonic missile, touting the potential for "next-generation capability" for the military.

The test, conducted by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the U.S. Air Force, was the first test of the Lockheed Martin version of the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept, commonly known as HAWC. An earlier test, configured by a different company, took place in September.


This Lockheed Martin HAWC flight test successfully demonstrated a second design that will allow our warfighters to competitively select the right capabilities to dominate the battlefield," HAWC program manager Andrew "Tippy" Knoedler said in a statement. "These achievements increase the level of technical maturity for transitioning HAWC to a service program of record."



During the test, the missile reached a cruise speed greater than Mach 5, for what DARPA said was "an extended period of time," hit altitudes above 65,000 feet, and flew for more than 300 nautical miles.


DARPA did not specify exactly when the test took place, only saying that it was "recently." According to a CNN report, it happened in mid-March, days after Russia announced that they had used a hypersonic missile in their war against Ukraine, and before President Biden traveled to Europe to meet with officials from NATO allies.
