We all know how these types of awards are given. The highest bidder wins the award. A lot of cash have exchanged hands.

If not, why would that senator who wears an extra clothing around his neck be conferred with an award.

This is a man who did substandard projects in Imo state. He made statues of a man who was corrupt in his country and who is incarcerated now.

This same man tried to force his in-law on Imolites as the next governor until the Supreme court intervened and brought Hopeless Uzodimgba, an expert in sucking the Fulani's saggy and hairy balls.

In saner climes, this man should be investigated and tried for misappopriation of public funds. Instead, he is being honoured here and there.


Maybe the next recepient of the award would be that Vulture Griller for his Zone-B work.

I bought one small sized apple the other day for Two Hundred Naira.
After consuming the fruit, I began to reminisce on how I have planted apple seeds as a young kid and watered them every time. Sadly, none of the seeds I planted was able to germinate.

Growing up, I once heard that Apples cannot grow in Nigeria because the land is not fertile enough.

The 12-storey structure projected to serve as the national secretariat of the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is tottering, being a borrowed vision that was not contemplated by the founding fathers of the party.
 
 After organising fundraising on two occasions and gathering billions of naira, the office could not complete that single project.

As such, five years after work on the site was stopped in 2014, the new helmsmen in PDP are crying for funds to see to the completion of the building. However, the cry for more funds has raised fresh concerns over the status and whereabouts of the N21billion raised during a special fundraising dinner organised by the party on December 2014.  
  
Incumbent PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, recently lamented that there was not enough money to complete the new national secretariat, which cost has was varied upwards from N11.5bilion to N16billion.
    
The then governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, an architect, was commissioned to put up the project design. And in a bid to get the structure off the drawing board, PDP organised fundraising on November 14, 2008, targeting N10b out of which it raked in N6b. The dinner was chaired by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and the highest donation came from Mr. Femi Otedola, while the richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, announced a donation of N3b worth of cement.

UP TILL NOW, Nothing to show for it.
They even sold the cement Dangote gave them and looted the money!

Nigeria as a country is blessed in virtually all ramifications. From the creeks down south up to the plain savannah regions in the north, diverse natural resources are buried underground.

Nigeria is also blessed with diverse people with unique and interwoven languages, behaviour and culture. We have also produced intellectuals and athletes who have put Nigeria on the global map.

However, as a country, we have our own unique challenges. Roughly seven years after independence, we were plunged into a civil war that claimed millions of lives and displaced many during the three years it lasted.

Fast forward to the present scenario, we have practised democracy for more than a decade after several years of millitary dictatorship and several bloody and bloodless coup d'etat.
Right now, from a sharp hike in food prices, electricity tariff and gas, the Naira is performing poorly on the parallel market and there are a lot of security challenges which is fast becoming localized across the regions.

There is a clamour for seccession from different regions in the country. From the East (IPOB) to the West (Yoruba Nation) and even the Middle Belt.

The question is this, why is Unity fast becoming a bad idea to Nigerians?
