djbiskit: I have a first degree in Maritime Mgt & Technology, currently working with a MNC shipping line. I have a PRINCE II Foundation certification. An affliate Memner of chartered institute of Logistics & Transport, a member of Nig. Inst of Mgt. Also ve intl certification in BaSic Safety.

Am @ the verge of enrolling for my Masters.

Am confused between MSc Transport Mgt |& Planning Vs MSc in Project Mgt.

MSc in TMP would make me more professional and some expertise in intl shipping and would boost my career in the maritime industry and other transport logistics industry, I can alwasys do a PMP certification later on....OR MSc in PM coz its broader and wud give me a wider scope for other sectors.....

Naturally I love maritime/shipping biz..so MTMP luks ideal for me...but a friend says what of there are no longer jobs for maritime/tranport logistics professional my qualifications wudnt suffice but I doubt that...as this sector is not populated wit professionals and experts...more so...it has intl laws, esp shipping economic...coupled wit my 2yrs expeience in Maritime...Or do I go for MPM just to have a broader scope for job offers.

We have heard this story hundreds/thousands of times before now. I do have to ask why people are not addressing the obvious problems. The man living now does not mean he would not have left if she had not had the quads now. I mean honestly, women need to start re-focusing their minds a bit more.
She already had five kids living in the same cramped apartment. Why think of having another when she has yet to solve the problem of their living in that cramped apartment?

First, do your best to graduate at the very top of your class. This is especially possible if you are currently in your second year of studies or below.
Second, apply for an internship at any of the investment houses in Lagos. These investment houses periodically accept inte






rns, and the good thing is that you can do your internship with any of them during the short and long holidays of your 4 years of university education, thereby raking in approximately 2 years of solid work experience even before graduating from the university. This is great! It is great because experience is always KEY, any day, anytime and anywhere in the world. More experience is a good thing because employers won’t have to spend thousands or millions training you. Just like many ladies, employers want prospective employees who are ready made. That is why you see job adverts quoting ‘we want a minimum of 3 years work experience in this and that’.

To be specific, there are many investment houses that like to hear from undergraduates who are keen on building a future career in securities analysis, equity research, asset management, investment banking and so on. ARM is one of them. Afrinvest is one of them. CardinalStone Partners are one of them too. There are many others. Go to their websites and apply to be considered for Easter and summer and December internship positions. I am almost certain that they will invite you to sit aptitude tests.

Immediately after your NYSC, start applying to any and every boutique investment house in Lagos. You may not even need to do this because the firm where you interned would have made you a full time offer if you were indispensable while with them. The internship experience will always help you beat most people your age during job competitions. You will find that almost all fresh graduates you are competing with will be clueless and will therefore have no other choice than to view you as one genius. Don’t toil with this counsel. Try the strategy and enjoy the positive amazement that comes with it.

For professional exams, the most respected ones in Asset Management/Investment Banking/ Brokerage etc in Naija are CFA, CIAI, and CIS. ICAN, ACCA, FRM, ERP and others are also good. However, they are not directly linked to a career in investment management/banking. Even the CFA is not that required for a career in investment banking, though it should help you if your aim is to build a career in buyside/sell side investment management. Depending on how much you have in your pocket, you may try one of CFA/CIS/CIAI immediately after graduating or during your NYSC.

To all our applicants and admitted students, we had sent the 3rd batch of names to Turkish embassy around 2am today. Kindly book appointment for your visa. Another list will be going to embassy on Monday in case your name is not inclusive in our last list.

I will be part of the committee that will be meeting the Turkish ambassador first thing tomorrow in Ankara. I do implore those students that have applied for appointment and got very very far dates to email me or state here their real names and confirmation reference number. I was looking at U.K, U.S and Canada Universities and i found this school as the cheapest of all per year.

I called the school and the school said yes they are interested in Nigeria Students and as a matter of fact they have people they have consulted for admissions at Kings University.

The School said they are waiving TOEFL for students with A's and B's in English at WAEC and NECO

I went to their website and i found out that their tuition per year is 9331 per year.

i think lots of Nigeria Students will rush this school, especially with the easy of getting Canadian Students VISA, unlike U.S and U.K

Hell noooo.it aiint complicated at all to get ur final year result.I recently graduated from lasu mathematics department early dis year.I did my convocation june.en even before then I had already collected my notification of result.I just came back from service last month en I went straight to lasu to collect my certificate cause I heard they were ready.lo en behold my certificate is with me already.all u need do is to get the clearance form from the ICT and I hope u are being cleared already by the senate.when u are done with signing all d levels in the clearance form then u proceed to the ICT where u get ur notification of result under 30mins-1hour.that's how its been done for we full time students.I dnt know abt part time.but first thing first is to make sure that u are being cleared by d senate en also d month u were cleared.I hope dis info is a lil bit helpful
