Culture / Re: African Culture Is Dying! by omoabolade(m): 9:15am On Sep 16, 2013
Its getting really interesting. The heated debate on this page has revealed one thing so far, WE ARE ALL INTERESTED IN OUR PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. Enough, therefore of all these attacks on persons nd tribes.

Back to d issue at hand.
There is a clear distinction btw CULTURE, TRADITION AND RELIGION.
Culture has to do with core values of a people, Tradition is how we do things and Religion is what we belive in. The three are distinct yet intertwined and is without prejudice to Language, dressing, fashion, food, art, techhnology, e.t.c.

The core value of d African is SELF-RESPECT AND RESPECT TO OTHERS. Our culture is Discipline and Contentment. There is no aspect of d African culture dt is bad, although I cant say d same for our tradition and religion.
Many pple think calling on dead ancestors like d dirty Ogun or angry Sango is our culture bt i make bold to say NO, our african religion, YES BUT NOT OUR CULTURE.

Today, its possible to embrace
the core African values of self respect nd respect for others, discipline and contended while ditching d unprogressive traditions nd religio religion WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO OUR BEAUTIFUL MOTHER TONGUE, FOOD, FASHION, ART while wedevelop technology.

Health / Re: Should Non-doctors Head health Institutions? by omoabolade(m): 12:34pm On May 03, 2013
Until d medic begin to see other professionals in d Health team as EQUALLY IMPORTANT, d war in d Health sector wont abate anytime soon. I shake my head cos when Elephants fight, its d poor grasses dt suffer.

I am yet to see even a sucessful sugery conducted with ONLY THE BEST SURGEONS CONDUCTIN IT WITHOUT D WORK OF OTHER HEALTH PROFESSIONALS let alone in other works of d heslth team.

D problem of Medical Doctors, once again is PROFESSIONISM!!!
Health / Re: Should Non-doctors Head health Institutions? by omoabolade(m): 10:39pm On May 02, 2013
According to d words of Prof. Festus Iyayi, d greatest problem facing d Nigerian health sector is PROFESSIONISM as opposed to PROFESSIONALISM.
PROFESSIONISM, just lyk RACISM(which is exaltin one race over d other, bringin d South African Apathied back to memory) is exaltin one profession over d other while makin others look irrelevent and useless while PROFESSIONALISM is d practice of a profession in a way to carry others along in d best interest of others.

In a team of dos who perform surgery, d doctors WILL always head, but when it comes to a Health team,ANY MEMBER OF THE TEAM WITH ADMINISTRATIVE SKILL SHOULD HEAD D TEAM. D problem with doctors is PROFESSIONISM and ds is d reason for Nigeria's poor health indices. Until d medical dpctors see other members of d team as EQUALLY IMPORTANT, d country's health sector has a long way to go.

And finally,d Nigeria health sector need to learn frm d Barcelona saga, when u build ur team aroound a single individual u ar bound to fail someday very soon, and when u fall , u fall yakata
Religion / Re: Intimate Temptations, Christians How Do You Cope? by omoabolade(m): 11:02am On Apr 19, 2013
There's no two way frm escapin ds kind of temptatn dn to RUN. In 2007, a single older lady trried luring me. It was my new station nd she was d only person i knew in d village. Dt day she took permision in d school she was teachin durin break, only for her to come to d health centre whr i work to seduce me. When she saw dt a nurse was present she invited me to her place for lunch. Bt i declined sensin her intentns by God's grace while promisin to visit her later. ds i did in d evenin when her room mates were back frm school.
Several yrs later, even afyer she got married, she still sent a romantic msg to me. One tin i ensured was dt we never ar never alone together.
All in all, IT HAS BEEN BY GOD'S GRACE

@Op nd all, ds is d golden rule:
DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO DO TO U. Shikena
Marraige has responsibilities nd cutting down som old ties is one of dem.

#I wonder if u wil tell d same blip to ur children, dt u must talk wit ur best friend (who is more impoetant dn dem nd dia mother) for 2hrs after work everyday, even when dy come to u at dt tym for dr homeworks. U can still change now.

Gudluck in ur choice btw ur marraige nd friendship.
Politics / Re: How Did Tinubu Become So Powerful? by omoabolade(m): 10:37pm On Apr 02, 2013
Do u say powerful?
Our bullies is school, do we call dem powerful? I guess nt. I do nt see power whr a man cant b seen as role model.
And by d way, why couldnt his so much power win d Ondo gubernitorial polls?
I guess because it will b an insult for a broom to scratch an 'Iroko'.

POWER BELONGS TO GOD ND HE HAS GIVEN IT TO D PEOPLE.

Gbogbo won lole, eni tile mo ba ni barao

Politics / Re: Policemen Kill 2 NSCDC Officers In Lagos by omoabolade(m): 5:05pm On Mar 27, 2013
I am not relly suprised at ds story, although dismayed. A policeman who gavee a ride last yr confessed his personal hatred(albeit general) for d men of NSCDC. He said if he had d optn to chose who to shoot btw dm and an armed robber he wont hesitate to shoot d officer nd let go of d criminal.WHY? D Police sees NSCDC as a threat, a competition nd an afront created by OBJ.
I've worked wit both in my team nd observed d ,FIERCE RIVALRY btw dm. I hope ds is solved quickly in d interest of security.
GOD HELP MY NATION.
Politics / Re: Massive Construction Going On In Ogun State (Pictures) by omoabolade(m): 1:26pm On Mar 27, 2013
Actually, MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT is going on in CERTAIN parts of Ogun state with focus on ABEOKUTA d state capital. But he shd not b vilified for ds, d capital has bin in total disrepair over ten yrs-even my greatt uncle, whom i so much respect because of his nationalistic principles, OBJ did nt repair d damage. If u live in Abeokuta, Ijebu ode, Sagamu, Sango ota or Ifo, u will undestand d need for ds urban renewal.
BUT AT WHAT COST?

I am a civil servant who works in d LG nd can tell u dt d LGs pay d price whc ordinarily shd nt b. Salaries ar paid on d 47th day of d month, dt if nt even 70% salary. D state economy is dry. Ask d average Abk resident nd u will b shocked at d level of hunger-even politicians groan.

GOV IBIWOLE OLONADE AMISU IS WORKIN
THE PEOPLE ARE CRYING.
We really need dse developmnts, bt he shd complete dm ds first term, dray nt b opportunity to repeat d class.
