@wanaj0,

Thanks for the info. I did not give them any instruction to sell my FCMB shares O.I have not received any contract note for the execution of the orders from Afrinvest.I don't know how many Dunlop shares they bought, how much they bought it for or when they bought it and they couldnt even bother informing me about it. I will be migrating to Fidelity Union/ Citi Invest Cap soon, not used to being treated like that. Mike Murdock did say that its better to "go to where you are celebrated instead of being tolerated", and I was even thinking of sending that Susan a designer perfume from Harrods
@LondonCool
Have you checked your junk box to see if any of their replies was sent there?. I also use AFRINVEST and all their mails have been sent to my junk mailbox until I added each of the broker/trader to my address book,

Good debate, Obama is really looking the part - very presidential. Hillary finished strong though.

I would love to see them both on the ticket.
I agree with your analysis, Obama looked presidential and Hillary did well at the end (NOTE: I had to modify the last part a bit so I won't be accused of plagiarism, !!!!

Chei, my broker sold all my capoil today. First I was like  shocked shocked who's doing the buying?? Later I was like  grin grin. Narrow escape with 19% in less than 2 wks.

Lesson #21: never do CICO unless your broker is superman  cheesy
This is the quote of the day for me which corroborates what others have said regarding the almighty borker being the last and weakest link in this CICO business. They can make or break all your assumptions in technical analysis,

@ WindyWendy: we wey no get Superman broker, wetin we for do nowhuhhuh You fit connect us with your personal broker for FSDHhuh?

Someone posted it a while back, You can try to look through January postings. But I think the only ratio that got 100% allocation is the minimum. (1,000). Others got 30% (I think) and less,

Not only digress but failed to see the Clinton light.  tongue She won more delegates last night. He won more states. Race is wide open.
@Easi
I needed to add sth to this digression. I think the main stream media in US is just trying to manipulate the interpretation of the results in HRC's favour, Based solely on yesterday's 21 States, Obama won both in terms of No (13:cool and delegates, This was confirmed by Kerry & Obama today, Its only when you add the superdelegates (who could still change their minds) that she leads, For him to come from double digits trailings 2 weeks ago and win more states than her "establishment" says a lot, Yes Yodiyokun I agree, Obama rocks!!!

Abeg, I need your help. I downloaded your excel sheet that you pasted a while back. I'm trying to update it with current company result. How did you display all the column headers. I was trying to use PivotTable in excel but not sure how to display the headers. should I use " Row Area", "Column Area", "Page Area" or "Data Area", I have tried several permutations but they don't look like your original version.

Thanks

@all, just took a quick look at the Tantalizers PP memo. Don't like what I see. Margins are too thin, historical results not too impressive, projections too optimistic (and not very impressive despite that). Might still make you some money though, esp. if they list later this year as they've mentioned. I won't recommend this PP though.

@Easimoni, I too wanted to buy Stdinsure but my broker warned me that they'll be going on TS soon. So beware.
@Windy

Pls do you by any chance know when Unic and Mutual Benefit might be coming to the market,

Thanks

Thanks Easimoni, your response was prompt and insightful as always,

easimoni:
C&I has one of the highest profit growth rates in the NSE. PE of 30+ could be 10+ in a year (assuming no price movements).

Costain: buying a company just coming out of debt/losses it the best way to make money on the NSE. If you wait for a long track record, you'll end up with average gains. But tread carefully, it's not easy to predict if/when a company is fully turned-around.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by omoboy3(m): 4:49pm On Dec 21, 2007
@ Easimoni and Others

what's your take on C&I leasing and Costain on the floor? They have the highest 08 price appreciation from my broker's recommendations. But looking at their financial, C&I leasing currently have a PE in the 30s while Costain has only have one profitable year in a while.

Thanks for your response,

@ All (especially parents)

Hi guys, I learnt from you all how important it is to teach your children about trading in stocks at an early age.

So I am planning to call my boys (11 and 8 years respectively) to a round table discussion today about stock market.
Can any one of you help a brother with tips on how to explain stock market to kids?

The idea just hit me now after calculating how much we spend for their birthday presents just last week (about 1200 Euro) The bithday parties (both at home and schools not included) so I was planning to use that as an example and show they what would have happen to the same money had it been it was invested in Capoil or any of the penny stocks.

Or am I going too farhuh
I think the idea is great but you might delay it till when they are rounding up high school or entering college, That way they get to enjoy their youth without money palaver,
