laudate: So the guns of the Biafran soldiers and the bombs dropped from jets flown by mercenaries on behalf of Biafra, did not kill anyone? Let them apologise first, too. As for FFK, someone should tell him that war is not a tea party. When a war happens, people die. That is why people do NOT go to war, without counting the cost. That is why people seek all means possible to avoid armed conflict. 'War does not prove who is right, it only reveals how many are dead.' Ojukwu had more than enough people advising him NOT to go to war. Yet he led innocent souls into an avoidable armed conflict, when he did not have enough soldiers, resources and ammunition to win that war. Ojukwu and his descendants should apologise to Nd'Igbo for this.
The rest of you should just ignore FFK. He has taken on the toga of a court jester. And has had too much pu'ssy from that Igbo babe, which is why he is misjiving like this. These days, he speaks like an intoxicated man. Bros, during the civil war, the biafran soldiers fought with the Holy Bible while Nigerian soldiers came with machine guns and bombs so as a result of that 3 million igbos died. . We really need to beg the igbos |
Sports › Aruna Quadri Beats Omar Assar, Qualifies For ITTF World Cup by Omofunaab2(op): 8:36pm On Jul 05, 2017 |
For the first time in recent history, Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri surmounted his continental rival – Egypt’s Omar Assar in the final of the 2017 ITTF Africa Cup to qualify for the ITTF World Cup in France. Having conquered Egypt’s Mohamed El-Beiali 4-0 in the semifinal, Aruna Quadri showed his class to beat Omar Assar 4-3 in the men’s singles final to the admiration of the fans at the venue. Throughout the encounter, Aruna Quadri who played without any coach was calm throughout the encounter even when Assar was leading, he never gave up but continued to fight. Without any doubt the match has been described as a good showcase of Africa as both players played their heart out to the excitement of the fans at the venue. An elated Aruna Quadri said he believes luck was in his favour as his opponent also played well. “I am so happy and I think luck was in my favour and I look forward to play in the ITTF World Cup later this year in France,” Quadri said. In the women’s singles final, Olufunke Oshonaike surrendered to Egypt’s Dina Meshref in the final as the Nigerian lost 4-0. Aruna Quadri and Dina Meshref will represent Africa at this year’s ITTF World Cups later in the year. www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/aruna-quadri-beats-omar-assar-qualifies-ittf-world-cup/Cc: Lalasticlala, Seun, Mynd44 |

No malice intended. Before it was different, I have forgotten the details that lead to the sultan being declared the Supreme leader of Muslims in Nigeria.. But i remember late alhaji lateef adegbite former secretary general of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA),played a huge role in that |

Now one mofo will cone here to say I am harsh on yoruba muslims. Of all the myriads of problems confronting Nigeria and the sporadic increase in radicalization of youths by ISIS and some bunch of islamic fanatics and the next action of this Islamic APshit govertment was to render crk insignificant and inseted arabic studies into the curriculum. A subtle move to radicalise our unborn children and make them easy recruits for isis and tbeir muslim aologists.
Here we have a typical yoruba muslim afonjanistic slave defending this impunity and licking the ass of his abokiii slave masters up north. StOla: It would be wrong to say ancestrally any tribe is from a country where their majority population is from, especially when that country never predated their migration or claims to their present abode.
As such, the Yorubas in Dahomey are indigenous to Dahomey as they own their towns and villages in Dahomey, just as the Gun/Egun are indigenous to Nigeria as they own their towns and villages in Nigeria.
The geographic description that is imposed on an international tribe by a country boundary does not in anyway erode the claims of the minority or less notable section of the divide to the country they have found themselves.
Same goes to Borgu kingdom that is part Nigeria part Dahomey, or Adamawa that is part Nigeria, part Cameroun.
The people retain ancestral claims to their own land of present existence even if they have a bigger kin across the international borders. I agree that i was wrong by inferring that the Eguns are ancestrally from a country that was not in existence then But I think it's safe to say the Eguns in Nigeria can trace their origin to present day Benin republic.. While the yorubas indigenous to Benin Republic can also trace their origin to present day Nigeria? |

He's more anti-Oduduwa than anti-Ife. Though I doubt most ijebus share his opinion. Yeah, the awujale's stance seems to correlate with that of Oba akinruntan.. But how come we all try to shy away from that discussion that there might have been the possibility of some settlers in Ile ife before the advent of Oduduwa? |

wristbangle: Really? Why would he make such stance? Even if the kabiyesi has distance himself from it and people of Ijebu have agreed to Oduduwa republic secession, I don't think the Oba can do anything. Besides it will be the case of only one person fighting against thousands. I see the situation that the Oba may be "technically outnumbered" in his stance to have distance himself Oh, sorry, I meant to say the awujale has distanced the ijebu people from the general belief that all yorubas have their roots in ile-ife. He said the ijebus migrated from Waddai in Sudan.. So he might oppose the name "oduduwa Republic" |

wristbangle: You are right though especially at the bolded. Well they will become part of Odua republic just like the Yorubas who have been nationalised in Benin republic and Togo.
Meanwhile someone mentioned earlier that why not choose Western Republic of Nigeria or something instead of Oduduwa Republic maybe due to the way it sounds. What do you think about this bro? Oduduwa republic will be perfect if we are to be homogeneous nation.. but the awujale of ijebu land that has come out to distance the ijebu people from oduduwa nko? and ijebus are one of the largest groups in our tribes. Western Republic of Nigeria will be perfect.. |
Politics › Re: Draft Of The Oodua Region Yoruba Constitution by Omofunaab2: 10:02am On Jul 03, 2017 |
wristbangle: The Eguns are Benin republic tribes who are also habitats of some area in Yewa land and when we choose to secede, for those who have legitimate right to stay such citizen by birth, by work permit, residential period of stay would be condone and that is if they choose to stay but for those without traceable record will have to go through legal means if they are interested to be citizen of the country.
As the minority ground, I am indifferent about it because they are well grounded in yoruba culture and also a foreigner (Benin republic)
I agree with the last sentence. Everybody should answer to his/her father's call Bro, Eguns in Yewa are regarded as Nigerians.. Those in iwoye ketu etc Egun is an ethnic group in Nigeria. . Yes ancestrally they are from Benin Republic just like the Yorubas in Benin Republic are also from Nigeria ancestrally but regarded as an ethnic group in Benin Republic. . |

AshiwajuFoward: I don't think we'll have any problems with Eguns, by and large. They've been largely integrated over the years. Oba C.D Akran of Badagry was Minister of Economic Planning in the Western Region under Akintola. I think we've blended well together for centuries without any major issues. That's just my opinion though. Yes, I understand you egbon.. You are seeing it from a political angle . . Eguns are members of Ogun state house of assembly, I'm more concerned about the culture and language. if you follow discussions here, many have discussed of having an homogeneous yoruba nation where everything must be yoruba and everyone that wishes to join must assimilate completely in culture and language... That was the reason why i asked what the fate of the Eguns that will still want to maintain their identity |

Beside, Yorubas married a lot of people from different part of the present day Nigeria. My own family is extremely guilty of such cases. And where do they want to push those one's cousins that had lived or even born in Yoruba land ? My take is that, we should find a way to disgust towards all but be very proactive in dealing with offenders. But what will you suggest to allay the fears and suspicion of many? Do you think having strong and stringent immigration laws will solve this? |
Politics › Re: Draft Of The Oodua Region Yoruba Constitution by Omofunaab2: 9:19am On Jul 03, 2017 |
If i may ask, what will be the fate of the "Eguns" found in Ogun and lagos states in a homogeneous yoruba nation?
Because I think the issue of who to allow and who not to allow, process of migration etc will be one of the problems we might encounter.
Egun is regarded as a separate ethnic group in Nigeria.. Even most of our terrestrial stations in the South west have programmes being televised in Egun language for Egun listeners. . Although i agree most Eguns speak yoruba and also bear yoruba names but they still maintain their identity... People are saying only Yoruba language should be spoken.. What about Egun language?
In the event we have an homogeneous yoruba nation, are we going to make sure the Eguns assimilate completely or maintain the status quo of having them as minority in the Yoruba nation?
I think we have all agreed that we don't want anything igbo or ijaw in a yoruba nation |
