waistbeads are exactly what there name imply beads worn on the waist, now most people are saying that they wore it for fashion, that is fine no problem but I had a roommate that wore it for the 2years i lived with her and she was still wearing them when we went our seperate ways.  Her own according to her kept her from getting pregnant, that is what she told me.

celeb naija chef's i wish, that would be nice. i've not seen any naija cookbooks here in the U.S., it would be great if there was one though, a collective of recipes from all over naija. Regarding the chef thing i dont know where you stay but here in Texas some of those naija resturant cookers/chefs are really nice, tell them you want to learn how to make a certain dish, some will let you watch them make it and right down the recipe. A person could probably compile a list of recipes that way

i just watched liscense to wed with Robin Williams, it was an okay movie, i expected it to be so much funnier but its average at best. Robin Williams was his usually weird self even when playing a pastor. And Mandy Moore was in it too. Give the movie a 2 out of 5!

You are right they do like our food alot, my vietnamese and thai friends always want to eat when i bring my rice and stew lunch to school. They like going to naija restuartants too, always begging me to follow them and suggest things to try.

Omoge your motar and pestle is it really big? I see only small ones here, but i dont want to stress my family at home to one here, there is this plantain dish we have in Rivers that i havent had in 16yrs because i no get mortar and pestal.

this is interesting, i remeber a couple of years back my dad had asked me to gather all the info i could about fish farming for him for when he decided to go home, he felt money could be made doing this kind of business, not a lot but a person can live comfortably doing it.

Three states, Rivers, Lagos and Delta, are the highest contributors to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with their contributions amounting to 37 percent of total GDP.

Facts to this effect emerged last week from Economic Associates, an economy think-tank and research organisation.

According to Ayodele Teriba, managing director of Economic Associates, Rivers State contributed 15 percent of the nation’s GDP in 2005 to emerge as the leading contributor to the nation’s economy followed by Lagos State that contributed 12 percent. Delta State’s 10 percent contribution was enough to earn it a third place.

Of the three states, Rivers and Delta are oil-producing states and are at the heart of the Niger Delta region. Lagos, however, thrives on commerce and has been recognised as the commercial nerve centre of the nation.

The contribution of the three states, Teriba reveals, is up to a third of the total GDP of the country and this is comparable to the contributions of 28 states put together, which amounts to 32 percent. Figuring prominently in this 28 are Borno, Kaduna, Katsina, Niger and Ogun states.

Bayelsa contributes 10 percent to the GDP but, in absolute terms, its contribution is a mite lower than Delta State’s; it assumes the third position in the contribution matrix.

In line with its appellation as the commercial centre of the country, Lagos State led the other 35 in the non-oil sector’s contribution to the economy. The state, according to Teriba, contributed 19 percent and this matches with the contribution of 13 states put together.

Four other states on the top-10 list are Kano, Oyo, Rivers and Benue states. In contributions to the oil sector, Rivers State again led the charts with a 29 percent input, while at 22 percent, Bayelsa State was on the second spot, followed by Delta State in third position with 19 percent.
