Du they have anything to wt personality? I'm not sure probably so, I;m a quiet person so I like greens, browns, black (neutrals) nothing flashy

That is 2 different things; you have to take birth control pills everyday for them to keep there effectiveness, its not something that when you get ready to have sex you say "oh let me take my birth control pills now so i dont get pregnant as we are having sex." You just cant compare pills to him packing condoms.
