Keep quiet, you have 1000naira in the bank but you're owing people 900naira and still claiming to have 1k in the bank. Are you not a clown? Nigeria is in serious trouble as that money is far far below the threshold or minimum account balance a countryshould have even Afghanistan

All of the Deductions if not Debt, about $29-$30 billion were held in Gold Bullion Reserves by CBN. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is indebted to JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs to the tune of $7.5 billion. I think JP Morgan is more concerned about the current liquid external reserves.

Foreign Affairs / Niger Coup: Did Russia Setup West Africa For War - Conspirary Theory by OmoGomesIlorin: 11:31pm On Aug 20, 2023
In my last post here I talked about Why Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso joined Niger Republic. In this post, I am going to uncover the conspiracy against Nigeria and Nigeria's interest in Niger and Africa.

1. Right from unset of that Bazoum was ousted and detained by his own guard, led by Tchiani on July 26, we have seen the public pledge of loyalty to Russia from Niamey. Also, putschists in Burkina Faso and Mali have aligned themselves with Russia.

2. African delegation on a peace mission to Ukraine headed by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa was greeted with explosions and forced to shelter in bunkers amid air strikes on the capital Kyiv. “Putin wants to demonstrate that he is ready to disregard the security of foreign leaders, he doesn’t really care, because he feels complete impunity. And anyone can be in the place of African leaders.”
Source: CNN

Do you think Russia is planning to open another battlefront in the African Sahel, considering its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine? If you recall the so-called WW1 and WW2 started as an Eastern Europe conflict that escalate to other parts of the world.

Does Russia have a genuine interest in Niger because of its Uranium? If so why would Russia want to gilt Kazakhstan its Ally and neighbor which has more deposits than NIger and should be more cheaper?

It is not hidden agenda that Russia wants to expand its Influence in Africa, should it be by supporting a coup?

What is your opinion?

These guys are indeed great and should be worthy of being role models to many.
I noticed something among the yorubas and hausa you will find dollar millionaires and billionaires like one in every 1000,000 but you will also find a tremendous percentage who are feeding from hand to mouth, the very wretched and greater number of indegenous roadside beggars.

However in the South East you will find fewer dollar millionaires and billionnaires but 500 out of every 1,000 are Naira millionaires and billionnaires with potential for sustainable growth. 300 have the ability to easily raise 1million Naira in emergency. The 100 are are struggling while the remaining 100 can be called poor but fewer or negligible percentage are feeding from hand to mouth or roadside beggars.

Wealth is more wide spread in the South East than in any other region in Nigeria

It's important to approach discussions about regional economic disparities with a balanced perspective. While your observation highlights the relative prosperity in the South East, it's essential to remember that wealth distribution and economic development are complex issues influenced by various factors, including historical context, government policies, and socioeconomic conditions.

The Yoruba and Hausa regions, with their diverse economic activities and cultural traditions, also contribute significantly to Nigeria's overall economic landscape. The presence of millionaires and billionaires in these regions can be seen as a sign of entrepreneurial success, which should be celebrated. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that income inequality and poverty exist in various forms across Nigeria, and addressing these challenges should be a national priority.

Rather than comparing regions, a more constructive approach would be to advocate for comprehensive national policies that promote economic inclusivity, job creation, and poverty reduction, regardless of geographical location. Encouraging collaboration and sharing of successful economic models among regions can help Nigeria achieve more equitable development and improve the living standards of all its citizens.

Yes, you are absolutely right about rotating military officers and NOT keeping them to serve for too long in one place.

In any event, with the situation brewing in West Africa... it would be great for President Vladimir Putin to step in and tell those coup plotters to revert to status quo, let the ousted minority Arab President Bazzoum complete his 4-year term and and let democracy persist [since Russia seems to exert a strong influence on them]. The coup plotters from the 3 out of 4 West African countries under military rule [Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger] all attended the 2nd Russia-Africa Summit that took place in St. Petersburg this month of August 2023.

Nice summations from you.

The Russians, for their part, may think that Nigeria won't want to sabotage its relationship with Russia and will not get involved in an adventure with intervention in Niger.

Because: "Russia, due to the threat of famine in 2023, supplied Nigeria with 34 thousand tons of fertilizers for free", "a meeting with Rosatom on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Nigeria was scheduled at the end of July (I don't know if it took place)", "Russia partially fulfilled the contract for the supply of helicopters to Nigeria" - these are short news headlines in the Russian media for Nigeria over the past month.

In general, you are wrong. Russia has a small trade turnover with Nigeria, in 2021 $ 920 million in total (compare with the leaders in Africa: Egypt - $4.8 billion, Algeria - $3 billion, Morocco - $ 1,6 billion)

As for arms sales, Algeria is a much more profitable (and long-standing) partner of Russia. Do you know Algeria's position on the situation in Niger?

And what are Nigeria's largest trading partners in the world? China ($13,7 billion), India ($13,9 billion), Netherlands ($8,3 billion). China builds 1,980km Oil Pipeline From Niger to Benin Republic.

This is if you think purely from an economic point of view.
But Russians think differentlysmiley

Russia is at war with Ukraine, and the more problems Western countries that support Zelensky and their satellites have, the better for Russia.

Russia has condemned the unconstitutional coup in Niger, but opposes military intervention in the country.
This is the diplomatic position.

But Russia benefits from any scenario in the region. Because in any case, the interests of Western countries will suffer

Perhaps the military option is even more profitable for Russia. Since there is a high probability that the matter will not be limited to a local Niger-Nigeria conflict and the entire Sahel will burn. Then Algeria will be involved, and if Algeria, which supplies gas to Europe, is involved.. Wow! plus, Russia will sell Algeria even more weapons. Plus a wave of refugees to Europe.

PS. I'm from Russia, I saw your comment and it made me laugh very much. From the land of snow and bears, everything looks completely different. It is not Russia that is interested in Nigeria because of the ridiculous 900 million dollars, but Nigeria should be interested in not spoiling relations with Russia and China.

Sorry for my English

UPD. And think about this, please:

Russia simply will not sell the SU-75 to Nigeria for any money. If Nigeria will want to sabotage its relationship with Russia.
Because Russia does not sell the latest weapons to unfriendly countries in principle

Wherever there is population, there is money, and I for do not think Putin will want sabotage its own previous efforts to befriend Nigeria. Yes both countries have interest in Niger but besides having the opportunity to punish Europe there is no significant benefit Russia would get. Russia does not need Niger's Uranium in any significant amount.

In geopolitics anything can happen, but we will see what will unfold in the coming days. Should ECOWAS choose military intervention, Russia has little it can do, except it will use proxy method to get involved.

Of cause I have recent information about Russian preparing to Puchists for military confrontation with ECOWAS using proxy

The three countries are Not landlocked because they are allied with Guinea's military junta an Guinea is a country bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean with a container port. Now you can see regularly Russian cargo planes landing in the capital, Bamako in mali, delivering weapons and ammunition from Russia

Please for the rest of the argument on Niger Coup, remove hope in Russia, it is not going to help them. Russia won't want to sabotage its relationship with Nigeria. Just last month Dmitry Shugaev, director of Russia’s FSVTS announce to the world that Nigeria express interest in Su-75 stealth fighter jet. out of all the countries that expressed interest in Nigeria and three others were publicly announced while others identify were not revealed. Source

And don't tell me expression of interest does not mean buying, Nigeria did same with Pakistani JF-17 thunder and end up buying 3 and future prospect of buying more in tens.

The Korean War started on 25 June 1950 and ended on 27 July 1953, after the signing of an armistice agreeing that the country would remain divided. This War see United Nation (the US and it Ally) went to War for the first time to liberated the Democratic South Korea after the Communist North Korean army (Korean People's Army or KPA) crossed the border and drove into South Korea.

The United Nations Security Council denounced North Korea's actions as an invasion and authorized the formation of the United Nations Command and the dispatch of forces to Korea to repel it. The UN forces proceed to invade North Korea in October 1950 and moved rapidly towards the Yalu River—the border with China. Remember that Both China and North Korea are both ruled by Communist Party.

The sleeping dragon China whose Communist regime is still young believes that Successful liberation of Korean peninsula from communism might motivate the US and its Allies to lunch an incursion into China due to its anti-communism campaign around the globe. It was at this point that PLA forces under Mao Zedong the leader of Communist enter the conflict.

Looking at the scenario above, the Putschists in Mali, Guinea and Bokina Faso are not in support of Niger Republic for any other reason than the fear of being removed themselves if ECOMOG Military intervention in Niger went successfully (which will happen eventually).

One question one need to asked was that, do these three Putschists has the popularity enough to motivate their soldiers to enter conflict with ECOMOG or do their country has enough resource. Yes they are soldiers and are not afraid of fighting, but is it wise to esclate what they can not finish?

O yes, they pledge allegiense to Russia, but will Russia raise the middle finger to Nigeria its biggest trade partner in the ECOWAS block? I don't think so. If at all Russia has serious interest in the parties, it will rather play both sides or rather than loosing one of it's biggest partner in Africa.

Why Mali, Guinea and Bokina Faso Join Niger Republic, what is your opinion?

When I see ignorant agbado fools supporting Ebola to his suicide, I will just leave. One Yoruba guy even compared Niger with Sao Tome and Principe. Some also mention Gambia. Lol, what they don't know is that Niger is a very large desert country, with over 1 million square miles! All they need to do is concentrate their tanks around Niamey then strategically place surface-to-air missiles in equidistant positions facing South. Place landmines on the roads leading towards the capital. Place snippers around villages and settlements and using human shield for cover. With fly zone in place means they can easily shoot down any plane that flies into their airspace.

The only way ECOWAS/Nigeria can win this war is to rout Nigerien army within days, but that too would be extremely difficult given the above scenario. Again, once the war drags on, small/poor ECOWAS countries will start withdrawing. Pressure will mount on Ebola as the cost begin to weigh down on Nigeria. At the end there would be a stalemate and return to negotiation.

Wing Loong II flying high over Niamey, you can never hide from it. As soon as your coordinate is feeded to J20, don't forget to say good.

The Damming of the Niger will reduce the water Level and make our dams useless

Blocking a river will take a lot of months to complete and it is financial burden. Niger doesn't have that kind of money to block River Niger.
And if they want to waste their money, where will there redirect the water to go when the dam overflow.

Go and read what caused friction between Ethiopia and Egypt, you will know that Nigeria will do same to Neejay
