OP, your opinions are valid but I have come to realise that the quest for money and power has killed the conscience and Patriotism in a greater percentage of Nigerians.

All the opportunities you outlined can only work when we have more people with a sense of Patriotism and Consciousness to do the right things. But unfortunately the reverse is the case.

Honestly, the young people that suppose to think and solve Nigeria's problem by setting MSME, go into small to micro-production but choose to be lazy mentally. Food staples are getting expensive because locally-made alternatives cannot be found anywhere.

Ordinary recycling to keep the community clean can turn someone financially stable, GenZ are not talking about it only to JAPA to go and wash toilet over there

This is a new year, yet you Japa and Anti-Japa advocates still don't want to rest.

This level of joblessness and misplaced priority is beyond me.

Well, you guys should keep wasting your time on this nonsense back and forth.

You travel out or you don't travel out, success or failure awaits you depending on your key life choices... Simple!!!

Food business if not for everyone. Especially when high percentage of NIgeria love to cook at home and you have to compete with many cheaper alternatives. Also, many local restuarant are doing deliveries this days

How Tinubu's networth manage to increase the price of Fuel and Garri, I don't just understand
Shebi Rich president like Abiola will make Price of Fuel and Garri to reduce.

Even Buhari a School cert older manage to Stabilize oil price for 8 years

Tinubu's estimated net worth is $8.4 billion, while Atiku's net worth is $1.8 billion. This indicates that Tinubu is richer than Atiku.

If you cannot reply on publicly curated rumor of his networth, na your wahala be that o.

Reconsidering the Call to Japa: A Counter Perspective
Rejoinder to 11 Reasons Why You Must Japa From Nigeria
https://www.nairaland.com/7936687/11-reasons-why-must-japa#127418405

The recent post enumerating 11 reasons to encourage individuals to "Japa" from Nigeria presents a one-sided view of the situation. While acknowledging the challenges facing the nation, it is essential to consider a more balanced perspective before making such a life-altering decision. Below are my counterarguments to the points presented:

1. Diverse Futures in Nigeria:
The assertion that the future in Nigeria is uniformly bleak oversimplifies the complexity of the nation. Nigeria has a diverse and growing economy, with numerous success stories in various sectors. By actively participating in and contributing to the local economy, individuals can positively impact their own and their families' futures.

2. Access to Quality Life in Nigeria:
Nigeria does face challenges, but it also offers opportunities for a quality life. Investments in education, healthcare, and security are underway, and many individuals are successfully navigating these systems. Emigrating is not the only path to a fulfilling life.

3. Poverty Beyond Borders:
Generalizing that everyone who leaves Nigeria escapes poverty oversimplifies the multifaceted nature of economic challenges. Many Nigerians living abroad face their own financial struggles, and success is not guaranteed solely by leaving the country.

4. Life and Spiritual Fulfillment:
Suggesting that all life and spiritual problems end upon leaving Nigeria oversimplifies the human experience. People's beliefs and challenges vary, and attributing them solely to nationality is reductionist.

5. Prosperity Through Hard Work:
Success is not exclusive to geographical location. Hard work can lead to prosperity in any part of the world. Painting Nigeria as a place where success is only luck undermines the efforts of many hardworking individuals in the country.

6. Japa as Paradise:
Romanticizing emigration as paradise oversimplifies the challenges faced by immigrants in adapting to new environments. Success abroad often requires significant effort, resilience, and adaptation.

7. Trending vs. Critical Decision:
Making life-altering decisions based on trends may not be the most prudent approach. Trends are transient, and considering individual circumstances and goals is crucial in making such a significant decision.

8. Individual Paths and Success:
Labeling those who stay in Nigeria as failures oversimplifies success and happiness. Many individuals find fulfillment and success by contributing to the development of their home country.

9. Due Diligence and Informed Choices:
Ignoring due diligence when deciding to emigrate is risky. Thorough research and understanding of the destination country are essential to make informed decisions that align with personal goals and values.

10. Remaining Population in Nigeria:
Exaggerating the number of people who have emigrated may not accurately represent the current situation. Many Nigerians choose to stay and contribute positively to the nation's growth.

11. Life Expectancy and Mortality Rates:
Associating life expectancy solely with geographical location oversimplifies the factors influencing mortality rates. Health, lifestyle, and access to healthcare are significant contributors that vary globally. There locals who still live above 80 years.

In conclusion, the decision to emigrate is deeply personal and should be based on a comprehensive understanding of individual goals, circumstances, and the evolving landscape of the home country. Painting an entire nation with a broad brush may not capture the diverse experiences and opportunities available within it.

Really Nigerians need to encourage japa , let the government keep fooling their selves that japa is affecting the country.
Are you aware that Nigerians in diaspora contributes billions to the economy yearly ?
With the number of graduates being sent for NYSC every 4 months , you will know that japa is needed .
Where do you expect them to get job , the ones with job are not well paid .
Let the older ones leave and leave vacant for these young ones that are coming .
The older ones will come back in the future and invest in the economy .

This is one of the few post I am liking this year.
very rational and void of sentiment.

Politics / Re: Why The North Suddenly Cares About Northern Lives By Farooq A. Kperogi by OmoGomesIlorin: 9:25pm On Dec 09, 2023
Dpharisee:
Immediately the fake news went out that the GOC 1 Division was Maj Gen VU Okoro many northerners started castigating the Igbos that this is a repeat of 1966 when some Igbo soldiers in collaboration with other tribes killed northern leaders. There was a sudden interest on the matter because it was thought to have been led by an Igbo man.
I am here in the North and you can confirm what I am saying.

Even some Hausa language musicians released a song with the name of Gen Okoro an Igbo and Christian is killing Muslims deliberately. Unfortunately some Yoruba APC supporters even helped to amplify the near ethnicization of the atrocious bombing incident on many online fora.

Then they realised their error that Okoro is the GOC 2 Div Ibadan and had nothing to do with Kaduna, the GOC 1 Division Kaduna is Maj General Bamidele Alabi a Yoruba Muslim and they became confused, meanwhile the Commander in Chief is a Muslim, the Deputy Commander in Chief is a Muslim, Minister of Defence is a Muslim, Minister of State for Defence is a Muslim, National Security Adviser is Muslim, the Chief of Army Staff is a Muslim and the GOC 1Div Kaduna is a Muslim

Stop sharing fake news, the photo below is the GOC DIV 1 with compare the faces

Concerning Boko Haram, the government does not attack or arrest members of the communities where Boko Haram attack and even kill soldiers. No military checkpoints to inconvenience commuters. Suspected or confirmed Boko Haram members are kept for a while, termed "repentant" and recruited into the military. Many are even given scholarship and lodged in expensive hotels throughout the schooling period. Many are paid monthly allowance that is higher than minimum wage.

A costly mistake at that.
You confirm a target before unleashing arsenals on it and with authorisation of course.
Even if they were terrorists, the lives of innocent villagers would still be put to risk due to the fact that the coordinates happens to be an inhabited community.
Sending in ground troops would have been the best option at least they would have detected on time that the targets are not hostiles

Sending groung troup will not be feasible logistically due to time and distance factor, and even pose danger to the infantry unit if the target is in hot zone. the cheapest route they followed is what lead to disaster. And this could happen to any Unit
Politics / Re: Army Carried Out Kaduna Airstrikes Against Air Force Advice – Daily Trust by OmoGomesIlorin: 6:27pm On Dec 08, 2023
dangermouse:
What happened to sending combatants to the said location since they already have the coordinates? That should have been the rational thing to do.

Air strikes are normally called by grounded troops who will issue coordinates for airstrikes with little or no mistakes. Unless the gathering was in the middle of the forest. Who celebrates what ever in the middle of the forest?

By all indications the strike must be on people celebrating the festivity in their community.
N. A goofed on this and the officers involved should be made to face the music.

The failed airstrike was a mistake, because it is difficult to ascertain who is who in the dark. the Infrared feedback from the screen will only show heat signature.
Cme to think of it, Terrorist has gather like these and boasting with photo in the past. So mistake like this could happen to any unit.

It is just unfortunate
