I have applied for Schengen visa to many countries (from the UK) in the past but each time I applied, the maximum the embassies have given me was 3-week duration from UK. Please does anyone know which European Embassy/consulate gives longest Schengen visa duration?

Many thanks for your answers in advance!

Politics / When Will Diepreye Alamieyeseigha Be Buried? I Doubt This Guy Really Died! by OmoNaijaUK(m): 1:28am On Nov 29, 2015
Sorry to ask but I have been expecting announcement on when Diepreye Alamieyeseigha will be buried but I havent heard anything since the announcement that he died. Based on his antecedent, unless this guy is interred openly with journalists allowed to take the sufficient pictures of his face and body in the coffin, I wont believe he really died. Any attempt to cook a concocted story of "low key burial" would be tantamount to fake death like his great escape from UK. A guy that beat all the world class security in the UK to escape and jump bail cannot be trusted.

We cannot all be fooled!

Investment / Anyone Interested In Naira To Pounds Exchange Without Commission? by OmoNaijaUK(m): 6:35pm On Jun 19, 2015
Hi everyone,

Is there anybody Interested in Paying Legitimate Money into UK from Naija for Exchange?

I am intending to transfer some money to Nigeria and I am wondering whether anybody wants to pay legitimate Money into UK from Naija (e.g school fees) for Exchange from Nigeria (to UK) so that we could exchange at an agreed exchange rate.

You will pay into my Naija bank account in Naira and I would pay into your UK account in agreed pounds equivalent to avoid commissions at both ends.

Please let me know if you know anybody.

Sir P!:

I think you can do it on your own but if you want to use an agent use Maple , they're a bit expensive but they're Good. I haven't tried them personally but people on the Canadian Visa thread can confirm they're good

Thanks, I was tryiing to apply myself for the Federal Skill but it seems that a new stricter rule has been put on it by CIC as from July 2011 (Canada Gazette on immigration July 2011) and the selections are limited to a very fewer jobs as contained in the link below:

Politics / After The Plane Bomber, Where In The World Is The President? by OmoNaijaUK(m): 9:30pm On Jan 06, 2010
Hello Umoru? are you dead?
Amid all the media frenzy around the Nigerian underwear bomber and how America should have stopped him before he tried to blow up a passenger plane on Christmas Day, a critical piece to the counter-terrorism puzzle seems to have been missed: where in the world is the Nigerian President?

Normally, after such a horrific incident, President Obama would be on the phone with his counterpart, discussing what went wrong and agreeing on ways to work better in the future to prevent such attacks. But this couldn't happen because Nigeria's President Umaru Yar'Adua left his country for medical treatment in Saudi Arabia on November 23rd and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Yes, you read that right: the whereabouts of the leader of Nigeria—America's most important strategic ally in Africa, the fifth largest source of U.S. oil imports, and home to 150 million people—are unknown. It is also not clear if he is alive or dead.

The situation is so uncertain that Nigeria's parliament is openly considering sending a delegation to Saudi Arabia to find out the truth. A major opposition party yesterday demanded, quite reasonably, some "proof of life".

The mystery over Yar'Adua is so bizarre as to be comical — if the consequences weren't so severe. His absence has thrust the country into an immediate constitutional crisis. The President failed to delegate authority to his deputy before travelling, effectively leaving no one in charge. This 43-days-and-counting power vacuum is being swiftly filled by an insular cabal bent on exploiting the situation for their own gain.

Complicating matters, the vice president— ironically named Goodluck Jonathan — is a Christian and an Ijaw, part of a minority group from the southern Niger Delta region and far from the power centers of the northern Muslim elites who expect one of their own to run the country. There is much speculation that insiders are scheming now of ways to keep Jonathan from ever assuming power. In an ominous sign, a new chief justice was quickly (and possibly illegally) sworn in last week.

These developments all put Nigeria's future at great risk. A decade of constitutional democracy is threatened by the specter of mass violence and a possible military coup.

The failed terrorist attack by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab on Northwest Flight 253 highlights that Nigeria's power void is dangerous for the U.S. as well. The foundation of a counter-terrorism strategy is to build cooperative partnerships with friendly nations. This means sharing information and helping to build security capacity in places like Yemen, Afghanistan, and Nigeria.

But we cannot have a partnership if there is no one on the other end of the line. Nigeria cannot be a reliable ally if it is consumed by its own corruption and political machinations. In this way, Nigeria is rapidly becoming more like Somalia— a failed state with no real government to cooperate with— than a real partner.

What can the United States do? First, it should insist on an immediate public declaration of President Yar'Adua's health and fitness to govern. If the President's staff refuse to oblige, then the U.S. should encourage the national assembly to assert its constitutional responsibilities when it reconvenes on January 12.

Second, if, as seems likely, Yar'Adua is in fact incapacitated, the U.S. must demand that the constitution be followed and power transferred to the vice president. The long-term security of Nigeria depends on entrenching the rule of law and this must supersede any palace intrigue or political bargaining.

Third, it is clear that whatever the outcome over the next few weeks, Nigeria will remain on a knife's edge until elections in 2011. Any hope for a more stable country hinges on a credible election next year. Yar'Adua came to power in a deeply flawed poll in April 2007 and almost no steps have since been taken to fix the broken system. The U.S. is in a unique position to push for and help deliver a better election that would strengthen the authority and legitimacy of the next government.

Last, the U.S. can support Nigeria's vibrant civil society that is clearly fed up and is increasingly demanding change.

The case of the missing Nigerian President is a wake up call to the United States about the vulnerability of many of our global partners. How we respond is not only crucial to the future of an important ally, but a critical test of our strategy for building partnerships in troubled places to combat the global ills of our time.

I had posted it earlier that Satan was decieving Punch newspaper if they think I, Omo Naija, UK will spend my kobo or penny to read lies (e.g Yaradua sleep today, Yaradua did not sleep yesterday Audoaaka slaps Ribadu etc. all nonsense). I read MSN, yahoo news, BBC, etc free.

However, it is nice to read that Satan has finally departed from them but they should realise that they are group of failures because no company would do that here in UK without a proper feasibility studies or opinion polls.

Travel / Please, What Is The Official Web Site To Apply For Canada Permernent Residency by OmoNaijaUK(m): 12:45pm On Sep 11, 2009
Hello,

Please, can anyone already leaving in Canada and who has successfully passed through similar steps (Or know about the steps) inform me on the proper and official web site to go through if one is looking for a permernent residency in Canada?

I have tried Québec (http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/epi.html) but I discovered that French language is more much essential criterial.

Please, I do not want to go through any agent (as some of them are either dubious or expensive) but through the official application processes of any of the regions/state that want immigrants. I am presently a student in Britain.

Best wishes,

Well, if U think you have points, U can take them to court of law. However, b4 U discuss it with your lawyer (who will be assigned the job), I will advise that U first discuss it with any mature lawyer in your family or friend family (or anybody who has some key knowledge about law and court cases)and examine the possibilities of winning the case before U invest in it. Your own lawyer needs money, he may not tell you the truth and will always give you fake assurance in order that you may employ him for the job.

Be careful, so that you dont have double losses.

Best wishes,

Do you know that the fellow is wasting useful spaces for useful contributions. As someone has suggested, he could go and establish a web site and give us a link to it. Pictures take very large memory of disk spaces. By the way, in his first (begining) comment, why shud he be trying to compare his country to my Naija claiming "Kenya does not have oil and see the , ". If he wants to do that, he shud use Kenya web sites. Of what benefits are those statements to this forum? He has spent more than 30 useful pages. I dont think any useful popular countibution has taken space up to that. I think the moderator shud delete the unnecessary tread.

You can google "Slum in Kenya" THEN "Slums in Nigeria" on Google images and see which ones are terible.

Anybody or organisation can be sued, even the presidency. But your statements are not objective, inconsistent and incoherent. You may need to edit it so that we can understand better. How did U come about MBA & PhD (just after 2003). MBA will take at leat 2yrs + NYSC year= 2007. MBA does not qulify U for PHD in Naija except in UK, etc  for DBA (Doctor of Bus Admin). Then U said U've not done NYSC. How come MBA.

Also, try to be realistic. 13pple beheaded by Abacha are getting N2B for compesation but for one certificate U want N1b. If U sell all the Universities in Nigeria plus their VCs, U cant realise N1B.

Sueing is possible but be realistic. A month ago, I was about to sue British Embassy in Nigeria  for a chicken change of N100m because 15 certificates (degrees, CofOs etc) were about to get lost thru their office but after several weeks searching. They were traced to one post office and I dropped the idea.  Though, my initial idea was to DELIBRATELY disgrace them at a Lagos High Court in revenge of what Nigerians used to surffer at their office.

Think well and look for the best option.

How should i start my story, but let me put it in a short way, i have this girl that i really love smiley she is beautiful no man that will see her will not fel for her cos her beauty is very tempting. but to me not about beauty out but the beauty inside is the most important thing she was loving, caring and anything you can dream about a future wife smiley. But later things turn upside down shocked. She is the reason why the relationship die down. sad i did all what i could do to make sure that the relationship never failed, but to me it seems she was fed up of this relationship. undecided

But i later decided to build courage and 4get her side, it really take me time b4 i can 4get little about her cos the trust i invented in her was so strong b4 she betary it. i'm a man with my own destiny smiley we do talk on phone at time but the words of feeling is out of it. but after eight month of departure she is willing to come back. but i still have feelings 4 her cool

I now have another girl now, wink she was caring, loving and she has a bright future. but i was confused now cos we just started dating not up to 2month now, she was just 22yrs and in her final yr studies in the university. i don't know if she is pretending 4 now, cos i don't want to loose my self so easyly to her. and 4 my former girl what should i do?

My advice is this: Let the Ex continue to be EXed. She left U on herself but not U that sent her away. She shud be left to continue on her journey. If the new girl pleases U and U 've found what U want of a wife in her, pls stick to her but if not, then you may consider the Ex but I dont support it and I will prefer looking for a complete new one. Let the Ex know that U are not as cheap as she has taken you. She has gone on a sabatical and let her continue. How are U sure that she will not DIVORCE U in future. YORUBA pple says "The eyes that will last till old age would not be having optical problems as an infant".

Why not? If you LOVE her. There are many qualities in a woman among which her: Xter, religousness (if U care), human relations etc. Beauty is just 25% of on my own estimates. So, if all other things are O.K, then there is no reason why U shud not.
