What did Buhari and Atiku achieve while in govt? What has GEJ achieved so far? We need to weigh all 3 major contestants on one pedestal. No bias, or singling out of any one of them. List all you know about each of them and let people judge them for what they are. |
Jenifer: The links below are for you and your ignorant claims. Perhaps you can gain some enlightenment after reading them that hausas/fulani live in the EAST and that not just Igbos, but any christian (both Northern and Southern) are killed in the North by muslims. Ask any Igbo person you know what ama awusa and gariki mean in Igboland. Fulani cattle rearers are all over the remote villages in Igboland. Most (99.9%) of security men in well-to-do private homes and large markets in Igboland are northerners. Just go to Onitsha and Ariaria markets to see. 1. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-270768.0.html 2. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-389287.0.html 3. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-202086.0.html 4. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-261899.0.html 5. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-385636.0.html 6. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-451709.0.html 7. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-46741.0.html 8. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-202599.0.html 9. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-202071.0.html 10. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-401332.0.html 11. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-405771.0.html |
Becomrich?:The corrupt woman has been removed and she, if I remember correctly, was removed with other corrupt fellows from Yorubas (Oba Otuedeko) and Hausa (Dangote) |
^^^^ You are a coward if you are waiting for the North to remove you. Whatever happened to those good old kiriji warriors and Afonja and Lagelu? All we have now are cowards like you. Get up and fight, do not wait for free removal from Nigeria. It ain't happening for free ![]() |
Becomerich: All I know about Soludo was that Igbos tried to make the govt let him stay on. I did not read where they tried to replace him with another Igboman. So stop lying. |
Becomrich?:But was he replaced with another Igbo man? And who was even that Igbo man you talk about. Who are the we who kicked against it? So you mean after you kicked against it, they still bypassed you and gave it to Hausa/Fulani? I dey laugh. |
Becomrich?:Remove yourself, just like Biafra tried to do 40 years ago. Nobody will do it for you. |
Accenture is, in part, a recruitment company and they are only doing the job they are paid to do. They have no say in the final decision though. They identify and interview candidates. |
Why was Soludo not replaced by Tunde Lemo (Yoruba)? |
Becomrich?:Does the law of NSE state that the deputy must replace the head/CEO? |
Becomrich?:Who selected him? Is NSE not the right body to select its head? The current head of NSE is from Edo (Mr. Ikhazobor or something like that). Read the quote below recruitment panel made up of experts from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Accenture, a council member of the NSE and Emmanuel Ikhazoboh, current Interim administrator of the Exchange. |
alj harem1:You are a bonafide Boko Haram |
Becomrich?:Yes, and what then? |
Becomrich?:Why would you replace Yaradua with a Northerne when his deputy, by law is the natural replacement? Are you trying to compare an elective post with established rules on replacement with a professional position that requires competence? So you too, are a quota system Nigerian? |
alj harem1:As an illiterate northerner, I know you feel VERY insecure. But what do you want me to do about it? Igbos are VERY competent people and I make no apologies. BTW, in these matters, I do not care about any other tribe, as it is not my business to do so. You only hear me mention Yoruba, etc, in response to a mention of Igbo. In this thread, I simply stated that Igbos are very competent and have not compared them to anyone else. So take your inferiority complex to almajiriland where you belong. Ewu awusa who wants to be Igbo. Tell me, what do we gain from accepting you as Igbo? Efulefu ![]() |
Becomrich?:Jonathan's deputy is Hausa. If he is impeached, then his replacement by law, is his Hausa VP. I have no qualms with that |
alj harem1:You Igbo indeed. See nama almajiri wants to be Igbo. |
alj harem1:You do not like me? Ask yourself if I appear to like you. What am I gonna do with your almajiri likeness? BTW, are Igbos not very competent people? What are you beefing at? |
^^^ What is the connection between AMEX and SEC and Onyema and Accenture? |
^^^^ It is about competence. Unfortunately for you, Igbos are very competent people. They only appear to suffer in Nigeria where mediocrity and man-know-man, rather than competence, are the rules. Outside, Igbos shine like the star. |
^^^^ You ignorant tribalist (why did you delete your post?) http://www.amex.com/atamex/aboutAmex/execOfficers/am_abt_exeOnyema.html |
Jenifa_:The boldened portion of your post is the most ignorant thing I have ever read. Sometimes I wonder how much more ignorant some Nigerians can get. |
Can only laugh |
Onyema to replace Okereke-Onyiuke as NSE boss Published on 03 January 2011 with 0 comments [Post a Comment] NIGERIAN-BORN chief administrative officer of the American Stock Exchange (AMEN), Mr. Oscar Onyema has been selected substantive managing director and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). Onyema beat two others including Yvonne Ike, a former staff of JP Morgan in the United States and Bola Onadele, head of Datanet Limited after a rigorous selection process under the mandate of Accenture Nigeria. Though indications are rife that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is still awaiting nominations for other positions from the Council of the Exchange, he is to replace Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke who was sacked on August 4, 2010. Competent source at the NSE confided in Daily Champion weekend that Onyeama was one of 131 who applied for the job, adding that the candidates were further scaled down to eight applicants who were interviewed by a recruitment panel made up of experts from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Accenture, a council member of the NSE and Emmanuel Ikhazoboh, current Interim administrator of the Exchange. According to the source, Oyneamas selection by the Council of the Exchange has already been communicated to the SEC which is understood also want to conduct its own independent search on the candidate. Market analysts are of the opinion that considering the growing relationship between the US Stock Exchange and Nigerian capital market regulators in the last six months, it is unlikely that the SECs search will turn up any more than the results of searches conducted by the NSE. Though efforts to get reactions from top shots in the SEC on the development failed, it was understood that under the Securities and Investment Act of 1999, the SEC is empowered to register principal members of the NSE. It was however not clear if authorities at the SEC may void the selection even as market observers said Mr. Onyeama has the required pedigree for the position. Ikhazoboh had earlier said someone would definitely be selected before the end of December, 2010. Ballama Manu, Interim President/Council Chairman of the NSE also confirmed earlier that the Screening Committee had come out with recommendations to the Council on Monday November 22, 2010, and that this was approved with a few amendments. Accenture Nigeria, which was contracted to handle the selection process, had confirmed that 944 candidates applied for the four positions. These include that of the CEO and three Executive Directors (EDs). The firm affirmed that 131 applied for the post of CEO and about 813 applied for the EDs positions. Though Dr. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke who was forced out from office on August over allegations of mismanagement is still in court over her sack, it was not yet clear whether the Ganiyu Solomon-led Senate Committee on Capital Market at the National Assembly which recently called for her reinstatement would welcome the latest development. |
This was one of the genuine, yet noiseless, fighters for democracy for Nigeria. |
Christopher Abani (or Chris Abani) (born December 27, 1966) is a Nigerian author. Abani's first novel, Masters of the Board, was about a Neo-Nazi takeover of Nigeria. The book earned one reviewer to praise Abani as "Africa's answer to Frederick Forsyth."[1] The Nigerian government, however, believed the book to be a blueprint for an actual coup, and sent the 18-year-old Abani to prison in 1985.[2] After serving six months in jail, he was released, but he went on to perform in a guerilla theatre group. This action led to his arrest and imprisonment at Kiri Kiri, a notorious prison.[3] He was released again, but after writing his play Song of a Broken Flute he was arrested for a third time, sentenced to death, and sent to the Kalakuta Prison, where he was jailed with other political prisoners and inmates on death row.[4] His father is Igbo, while his mother was English born.[5] He spent some of his prison time in solitary confinement, but was freed in 1991.[2] He lived in exile in London until a friend was murdered there in 1999; he then fled to the United States.[2] He is a Professor at the University of California, Riverside and the recipient of the PEN USA Freedom-to-Write Award, the 2001 Prince Claus Awards, a Lannan Literary Fellowship, a California Book Award, a Hurston-Wright Legacy Award and the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award. Selections of his poetry appear in the online journal Blackbird. His most recent book of poetry, Sanctificum (Copper Canyon Press, 2010), is a book-length sequence of linked poems, bringing together religious ritual, the Igbo language of his Nigerian homeland, and reggae rhythms in a postracial, liturgical love song.[6] Chris was recently hospitalized in Los Angeles for food poisoning, on the same day he was scheduled to speak at the Central Library in that city.
