Building a residential building is not the same as building a complex public works project like an airport or a bridge. It's a function of the complexity. Second Niger Bridge requires complex work on the water. Once that is done the rest goes according to schedule. An airport runway takes time to get right otherwise you end up with the ubbish built at Asaba. In the tropics the major issue is ensuring strength, alignment and good drainage. Engineers only have 8 months realistically to work externally. It is why roads take twice as long than elsewhere. A 3.4 km road takes the better part of a year in Nigeria talk less runway that requires ILS and taxiway. At best just getting the runway fit for take off and landing will take 24-36 months.

The Agency is using her One-Stop Service Center model to attract more investments to Anambra grow the economy thereby improving the quality of life of its residents.

The factory which will be located at Onitsha industrial harbor with the certificate gives the company legal right to site its manufacturing company in the State and begin operations in a year’s time according to the company as agreed with the government.

May & Baker Nigeria Plc, a pharmaceutical company specialises in the manufacturing of chemicals for pharmaceutical products.

No decent greenfield airport can be built in 12 months unless it is going to be like another one of Obiano’s substandard projects with a runway, a taxiway and a small building as terminal.The Chinese financed 80% of the terminals being built at Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu. The Americans construct all year round. JFK Terminal 4 was a greenfield project that took 2-3 years to build and it is massive.

Onitsha is a distribution center for the South East. The issue for any multinational is whether to open a factory or a sales office. Many have sales offices there. To open a factory you look at power supply, roads, logistics, tax authorities, quality of employees.
Anambra scores high in terms of employees but low in terms of power supply and city roads. Logistically the greatest boon is that inland port where you can bring containers from the sea.
Anambra should learn from what Edo is doing where they are building a greenfield industrial layout with gas and logistics integration.
