For those that are yet to take their first test; i felt like sharing this On a general note the test wasn't tough.... just practice the study packs well... the essay too...need not be worried...its 30mins so dont expect to write one long essay...just itemize your ideas and pick like 3 points to dwell on.... the topics tested were: technology has done more harm than good / what virtues do you think are the most important for success (honesty hardwork etc) the current affairs- brother its either you know it or not, so endeavour to study wide on this... just for the laughs the current affairs though, i thought they said its "current" yet of all questions that has to do with date nothing had 2000 and something in it. it was all 19 or 18 something something....lol |

#prayforSyria cos just this week, US & Russian drones killed 85+ civilians and it was described as just a "mistake". the western oppression and double standard constitutes daylight terrorism. but as long as its the govt, its okay since in fact you are at the mercy of their media to tell what is right or wrong. the just recently published chilcot report posit that blair had no business being in iraq. do u know what iraq invasion left behind... what do you call that? you get so quick calling Islam into question and i wonder if you do same for the west. unfortunately this brandishes your prejudice that's vigorously aided by western media propaganda. caveat: there is no single solution to a quagmire of this nature. I'm also inclined to pristine Islam education, my contention remains that the sole cause of terrorism lies in the picture...just a pity Islam is used as a balaclava partly because the victims themselves are predominantly Muslims. and in the end we realize that its politics and not religion.

salamAlaykum May Allah(swt) guide us to the straight path. Praying(salaat) was commanded upon us in the Quran. Where and how did we learn how to pray, definitely the Quran did not teach us that. Hadith did. Refuting Hadith in totality is inconsistent with the deen. WE HAVE SAHEEH narrations just like we also have the fabricated ones. ALLAHU ALAM |

Differences in Prayer for Men and Women Is there any prove from the Sunnah or ijtihad of the Sahaba that the praying (salat) of a woman is on some points different from the man, like it is in the Hanafi madhhab? Praise be to Allaah. The general principle is that women are equal to men in all religious rulings, because of the hadeeth "Women are the twin halves of men" (Reported by Imaam Ahmad and classified as saheeh in Saheeh al-Jaami’ 1983), except when there is evidence (daleel) of a specific ruling which applies only to women. One of the cases in which the scholars mention specific rules for women is prayer, where there are differences as follows: Women do not have to give adhaan or iqaamah, because adhaan requires raising the voice, which women are not permitted to do. Ibn Qudaamah, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: "We know of no difference between the scholars (on this point)." (Al-Mughni ma’a al-Sharh al-Kabeer, 1/438). All of the woman’s body is ‘awrah and must be covered during prayer, except for her face, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "No prayer will be accepted from an adult woman unless she wears a khimaar (head-cover). (Reported by the five Muhadditheen) There is some dispute as to whether her heels and feet should be covered. The author of al-Mughni (2/328) said: "As for the rest of the free woman’s body, it must be covered during prayer. If any part becomes uncovered, it renders her prayer invalid, except if only a little bit is uncovered. Maalik, al-Oozaa’i and al-Shaafi’i said the same. The woman should keep her limbs close to her body during rukoo’ and sujood, and not spread them out, because this is more modest and covering. (Al-Mughni 2/258). Al-Nawawi said: "Al-Shaafi’i said, in al-Mukhtasar: there is no difference between men and women in prayer, except that women should keep the parts of their bodies close to one another, and they should make their stomachs touch their thighs during sujood. This is more covering and preferable, in rukoo’ and the rest of the prayer too." (See al-Majmoo’ 3/429). It is preferable for women to pray in congregation, led by one of their number, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told Umm Waraqah to lead the women of her household in prayer. There is some difference among scholars on this matter. (See al-Mughni, 2/202 and al-Majmoo’ al-Nawawi, 4/84-85). The woman leading the prayer should read aloud as long as no non-mahram man can hear her. It is permissible for women to go out and pray in the mosque with men, although their prayer at home is better for them, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do not prevent the women from going out to the mosques, even though their homes are better for them." (For more details on this matter, see Question#973). Imaam al-Nawawi, may Allaah have mercy on him, said (al-Majmoo’ 3/455): "Women differ from men in congregational prayer in a number of ways: (1) Congregational prayer is not required of them in the same way as it is of men. (2) The imam of a group of women stands in the middle of the (first) row. (3) (If one woman and one man are praying), she should stand behind him, not next to him. (4) If women are praying in rows behind men, the back rows are better for them than the front rows. What we can learn from the above is that women and men are forbidden to mix. Allaah is our Helper and Support. Islam Q&A Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid http://islamqa.info/en/1106 |

Like a great man once said.... There are only 4 categories of people that will vote PDP Those with a mental instability Those who are blinded by ethnicity Those who are corrupt and are therefore scared of the unknown Those with all of the above qualities CHOOSE YOUR CATEGORY |
Dear friends, as the presidential campaign draws to a close, let us talk – Nigerian to Nigerian. My interactions with Nigerians from all over the country over the last few months have left me with an overwhelming sense of the expectations the citizens of Nigeria hold for the future. There was a little girl who donated her savings because she believes in our campaign. The young men and women at our campaign rallies who run after our motorcade, screaming ‘Change’. The fisherman in Bayelsa who lost his livelihood because of the polluted Ogboinbiri River. The welder from Ibadan who struggles under the weight of poor power supply. This campaign has been about them, and millions of others who have been let down by their government. From Enugu to Edo, Cross Rivers to Kano, Ondo to Benue, and everywhere in between, Nigerians are tired of the status quo. Without exception, they want a more secure living environment, better economic opportunities, and a more accountable government, they want a country they can be proud of. My experience has confirmed that there is no Muslim Nigeria or Christian Nigeria, no Northern Nigeria or Southern Nigeria. There is only one Nigeria, a country where citizens continue to forge ahead despite the challenges we face; a country that we all, both home and abroad, hope and pray achieves its full potential. I have dedicated my life to the service and continued existence of this one Nigeria, both as a military officer and a civilian. In the course of this service, I have overseen the building of refineries and protected Nigeria from aggressors, both internal and external. My time as Head of State, was not perfect; mistakes were made. Some of you may not support me because of those mistakes but I assure you that I feel the pain of everyone who experienced undue hardship. Others like Lola Shoneyin and Tunde Thompson have been gracious enough to look beyond these mistakes and accept my offer of a partnership to build a new Nigeria we can all be proud of. My appeal to you is that you find it in your hearts to do the same. As I said at Chatham House, being the leader at the time, I take responsibility for those mistakes and state again that before you is a converted democrat who has submitted to and will continue to submit himself to a true democratic process. I talk about a partnership because to surmount the grave issues Nigeria will have to contend with, leading will require your commitment and cooperation. Our country is at an all-time low. Poverty and unemployment have reached unprecedented high, and insecurity threatens the lives and wellbeing of every single person within our borders—a situation that I myself have experienced directly. Still, nothing can erode my optimism about our country Nigeria. I believe this country can be great again. I believe that with effective and transparent leadership, the eradication of corruption and respect for the rule of law, things can change for the better. Let me be frank, Nigeria is not going to change overnight. The damage that the PDP has wrought on this country is not going to change overnight. But if we want a country you can be proud of in the next eight years, in the next decade, then this is the time to stop the madness, this is the time to tell your leaders that they need to be afraid of you, this is the time to show that you won’t be taken for granted, this is the time to show the present crop that if they fail, they will be punished. Even in voting for me, you will be sending me a clear message, that if I don’t fulfil my promises, you have the power to decide who leads you and how they lead you. I have served Nigeria will everything I have, without taking anything that I did not earn. If anyone has evidence that proves otherwise, I challenge them to present it. Many lies have been circulated about my person but like I always say, while they continue to lie, we shall continue to reinforce the truth. So, today, let me make you a promise that will not be broken. The reason we are doing this is clear. This is about creating a Nigeria where you and your father and your mother and your children can be safe, this is about this is about creating a nation where children can go to schools where they actually learn and can compete in the world, this is about building a country where corruption and waste, and stealing and irresponsibility can be wiped out, so that government officials stop giving entrepreneurs and creative people handouts, but actually do the hard work of creating an economy that creates wealth for everyone. This is about creating a country that is serious about compete g in the global economy. This is about creating a country whose passport will not be insulted whenever you leave our country. This is about building a nation where your child can truly be great, whether he is born in Abakaliki, or in school in Akure, or about to get married in Auchi. I would like to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us, and thank Nigerians who received us with warmth everywhere we campaigned. On the 28th of March and the 11th of April, use your PVC to get the desired change that will enable you and your children to be proud of this country once again. God bless you, and God bless Nigeria – GMB https://m.facebook.com/home.php?hrc=1&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fh.facebook.com%2Fhr%2Fr&_rdr |

Popular lawyer, Femi Falana, has attributed the shift in the dates of the general elections to the leaked tape alleging the rigging of the Ekiti State gubernatorial election last year. Speaking at the Black History Month and Dr. Beko Ransom Kuti Memorial Program in Lagos, Wednesday, Mr. Falana said some of those implicated in the plot, who were threatening legal action, should think otherwise. An audio recording revealing how some Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, chieftains connived with security agencies to rig the Ekiti State election was released by an army officer last week. At the meeting, as evidenced by the recording, prominent officials of the PDP were heard discussing strategies for rigging the 2014 Ekiti governorship election, a poll in which the party eventually won by a landslide. But some of the actors, including Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Defence Minister, and Ayo Fayose, who defeated the incumbent governor, denied being a party to the plot to rig the election and questioned the authenticity of the recording. Mr. Obanikoro had also threatened a court action against news organizations who had published the conversations in the audio tape. Despite their denials, the Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, who also attended the meeting, confirmed Sunday that the tape was authentic. He however disagreed with the context of the discussion, saying the meeting was never about plans to rig the Ekiti State election. Speaking Wednesday, Mr. Falana said that none of the participants in the recording had successfully challenged the army officer’s account of the incident. “I understand that Mr. Obanikoro (whom he described as a ‘thug’) says he will go to court. I can assure you here, I dare him to go to court. He can’t. It’s not possible,” said Mr. Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. “One of the reasons they postponed the election last week is that disturbing revelation by that Captain. That is what they wanted to do for the entire country. That revelation has sent them back to the drawing table. They now have to re-strategize.” Mr. Falana criticised President Goodluck Jonathan for “embarrassing” the country with his repeated trips to the Holy Land, instead of channelling such funds to job creation. Since he became the President in 2011, Mr. Jonathan has travelled for pilgrimage twice. “I was reading the papers yesterday, the president said in violation of the peace accord, that governors in the north have not been sending Christians to Jerusalem. In other words, they have been sponsoring Muslims to Mecca,” said Mr. Falana. “Please tell the president that there is no provision in our law for sponsoring anybody to Jerusalem or Mecca. “Section 10 of the Constitution provides that the Nigerian State shall not proclaim any religion as an official religion. Therefore, appropriating billions of Naira every year, wasting money to send people to Jerusalem or Mecca is illegal. “If you must know, less than seven per cent of Israelis are Christians, so they make jest of us. When you descend on them, that you are there to worship Jesus Christ, they’ll be like ‘are these people Ok?'” Mr. Falana also insisted that the general election must hold and whoever emerges winner should be allowed to govern the country. “And I’m challenging Edwin Clark and others, all those old men with expired ideas. Femi Okurounmu and others,” he said. “We never saw them when we went to the streets of Lagos and Abuja to proclaim Goodluck as acting President. You were in the streets of Lagos, where were these characters? They were nowhere to be found. “In fact, quote me. Baba Clark called me in one of our protests, ‘Femi, my son. Please keep it up. We from the Niger Delta cannot join this struggle now.’ I said why sir? He said ‘because he’s our son.’ I said what has your son got to do with the quest for justice? “Professor Wole Soyinka, at the age of 71 (he was actually 76 then) led us in the protest. Please tell them this country belongs to all of us.” On the issue of deployment of soldiers during election periods, Mr. Falana noted that nowhere in the Nigerian Constitution, Electoral Act, or the Armed Forces Act was a provision made for soldiers in election. “So when they told Jega that they are going to be busy in the north east and they will not be able to secure the election. Please there is no provision for those Service Chiefs to police our election,” said Mr. Falana. “Under Section 76, Section 116, Section 132, and 117, it is the exclusive responsibility of the INEC to fix dates for election. Only INEC. Not the president, not the NSA, not the security chiefs. Knowing that, they then came in fraudulently by saying that they cannot guarantee your security. “They have not been able to crush Boko Haram in six years, what magic are you going to perform in six weeks? Please we reject their fraudulent claim.” Mr. Falana maintained that it is the duty of the police to maintain law and order in peace time. “Soldiers have no business in town in peace time. Their duty is to defend the territorial integrity of our country, not to police election,” he said. “That is the business of the Police. As a matter of fact, even Boys Scouts can police elections in Nigeria. You know why? On the day of election, there is restriction of movement. It is illegal for you to leave your ward for another ward. Only journalists, observers, and election workers can move round. “So if everybody is restricted, why do you need soldiers to come and help you? To do what? But I will tell you why they need soldiers. You know why they need soldiers? To rig the election. To manipulate the process.” http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/176633-leaked-ekiti-tape-dare-obanikoro-go-court-falana.html |
