RipVanWink: trying to understand the reason behind your action.doesnt make much sense from my POV. these hotel bookings are cancellable, and people go on to make other accomodation arrangments, when they arrive. countries want tourists who hv money to spend...not those who may become a threat or burden. paris is an expensive place, 20 euro hotel would likely be a hostel ...., wch an average VO wudnt be too happy with. a 50 to 100 euro hotel booking sounds more reasonable...... @ Ripvanwink thank you for response I have booked an apartment in paris for 512 euros for 7days about 74euros/ day, I hope is okay? |

sirrotex: Your question cannot be answered in isolation of how much is available for your stay. You can't for example book a 5 star hotel which costs about 1500 euro per night when you have 5m as your account balance. In summary cut your cloth according to your cloth. @ Thanks at sirrotex Yes that is why I want to no,if I can book hotel as low as 200euro,i hope it will not cause denied?, because I saw hostel of 200euro for 7days and this okay for my closing balance? |

LadyCaplin: Thank you. I submitted the following documents:
1) 3months Bank statement (Naira and Dom Accounts). 2) Travel Insurance from Cornerstone Insurance. 3) Payslips, TCC, Introduction Letter from Employer, Cover letter stating my itinerary. 4) Hotel accomodation using booking.com 5) Flight reservation on airfrance (not paid for). 6) Marriage certificate. 7) Copies of my previous passports showing my previous Schenghen visas + valid UK and US visas.
Investments, pension and property documents.
This is all I can remember. I renewed my UK visa recently, so I pretty much used the same documents.
I hope this helps. @ Ladycaplin Pls how much is the hotel reservation you use to get the visa and is how many days? Because they said your minimum spend per day must be 65€ / days and must multiply with the number of day you want to use in Schengen state, example you want to spend 10days ur hotel booking price will 10*65=650£, so is ur own case similar to this estimate |

Marcgrace: Hello @onile1975
I replied to all the questions; perhaps you missed reading some of them.
The amounts of €4.5 million and €6 million in both of your bank statements are sufficient for the proof of available funds.
A 3-month business bank statement is required, so having copies of 100 to 200 pages is not a problem. And a 3-month personal/savings account bank statement. Add the both to make your available proof of funds sufficient.
No need for explanation of this on your cover letter, "can I state that my company will be sponsored my trip with 2million Naira and transfer the money to my personal account which is the same as salary account". You do not need to make any transfer to your savings account. @ Marcgrace Thanks may you be blessed Another challenge am facing now is TL cont appointment site, I make mistakes when I was filling the appointment form, where they ask if you have done biometric in the last 59months,here I tick yes,I don't no am to tick No, I wrote last date I did biometric for my last year refused visa in spain, where they ask for reference Number I put 000000 since I don't have the reference number.I try to delete the account so that I can create new one,but the delete bar did not respond, meanwhile,I also deleted the application form in the france website and I have file new application form so that I can use it reference number to create new appointment account, what can I do to solve this problem? |

That was In spain last year January family of three I will send the letter to you letter But what I can remember is purpose of travel not reliable Actually base on the information I just learned on this forum I can say is because of poor documentations |
Travel › Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by onile1975: 3:53pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
Marcgrace: Let's say you are a visa officer. Then, you access an applicant's visa documents.
Example : The applicant claims to have two or three children under his care; the applicant has ₦4.5 million as proof of funds. He plans to spend ₦3 million on a tourist vacation to Paris and the ₦4.5 million is the only source of funds available for both the trip and the family's upkeep.
The visa officer would need to assess the adequacy of ₦1,500,000 for the care of 2 or 3 children, considering the duration of the trip and the family's living expenses.
Based on this example, what do you think? The scenario presents a situation where a visa applicant's financial resources are being assessed in relation to their stated travel plans and family responsibilities.
The officer would need to consider the duration of the trip and whether ₦1.5 million is sufficient to cover these expenses during the applicant's absence.
Based on the information provided, the visa officer would likely have concerns about the applicant's ability to adequately provide for their children while on vacation. The officer would need to carefully evaluate the cost of the trip, the family's living expenses, and the duration of the trip to determine if the remaining funds are sufficient. If the officer determines that the funds are insufficient, the visa application could be denied. @ Marcgrace thank you very much, may God be with you for ur concern 1) Base on what you said above about my closing balance, since I have like 6million in my business account, can I state that my company will be sponsored my trip with 2million Naira and transfer the money to my personal account which is thesame as salary account and submit both business account and personal account, is it okay? 2)The 3months statements my business account will be up 100pages,I hope is not much? |

Marcgrace: In my opinion, if you are willing to spend a significant amount, such as 1.2 million Naira on a flight ticket, then a hostel costing €153 total, which is approximately €21.86 per day, it might be a suitable accommodation option? Although the balance in your bank account, should be considered too. @ Marcgrace thanks again The balance in my personal account will be 4.5 millions naira, is this amount okay for 7days tourist visit? Looking at my account balance, like how many euro do think is okay for 7days hotel booking? Base on your estimate that means I should booked hotel of 460euros for 7days, 460/7 =€65.71/ day,is that correct? |
Travel › Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by onile1975: 8:07am On Jul 17, 2025 |
Marcgrace: Hi @onile1975
If the visitor does not have proof of accommodation (e.g., hotel reservation or staying with a relative), they must possess a minimum of €120 to cover their daily expenses. If the visitor has accommodation (e.g., hotel room reserved), the daily expense amount drops to €65.
i.e €120 multiply by 7 days or €65 multiply by 7 days...
The minimum budget for accommodation, which must be reflected on the bank statement, is either €120 total or €65 per day. In addition to expenses for tours, flights, local transport, and miscellaneous costs. @ Marcgrace Thanks for ur response 1) in other to manage spending I reserved an hostel of €153 for 7days, I hope this money for room is not too small to affect my visa result? 2) on the TL contact appointment form, they ask date and reference number of my last Schengen biometric,I only remember the date but I don't have the reference number, what Will I do, because if I don't put Ref no it Will not go to next page, 3) I was refused in spain last year January with my wife and daughter, but this year February I travel to Ghana by flight,I hope this travel can help my application? ,in this time I want to apply alone and leave my family as home tie. |

hunee: @onile1975, bros, i have been seeing your comments on these sections. I advise you focus on building your traveling profile first, before pushing your family forward. You as a main applicant can be instrumental later on for your family's application. Do solo trips to Qatar, South Africa, Road trip to Ghana from Lagos, Get these stamps or even visit the Safaris in Kenya.
Do this before coming to re apply for Schengen. Alot of things are built up , everyone's case can not be same. Some apply once for schegen and they get the visa while some apply 4/5/6 times before they get it. So understand these techniques of visa applications and work with it.
More trips, solid home ties and paperwork can be a breakthrough for a schengen visa in the future.
Goodluck @ Hunne Thanks Base on ur advice, I have been to Ghana by flight in February this year.i think am good to go |

broshowfar: Firstly they can't issue you a fake yellow card vaccination at port health. That is the designated yellow vaccination for visitors into Nigeria who require yellow card vaccination. Like i said it is #3500. Go with your passport. Secondly i used my bank statements just write a letter of sponsorship stating you are the bearing financial costs for everyone on your trip addressed to the SA embassy.
For jobs i really don't know. I work remotely and this trip is mainly for my wife and child. Shes going to culinary school while i visit from time to time not live there for now. If you or anyone requires my help just send me an email message via nairaland. I read my mails so i would respond. Thanks a lot I will surely need ur help when you get there, pls how I can see ur email address on nairaland? Secondly, I get a yellow card some years ago at seme border when I was traveling to republic of Benin, the color was yellow,is it the same as the type south africa is requesting? Thirdly, for documents,do they collect only photocopy during submission and biometric? |
