dubaiprince: Please a quick question on this refusal letter. The applicant has a small business and we explained it is not registered and the income per year does meet the threshold for tax purposes. We submitted a year bank statement and the total inflow was just above N9m. We explained 3 million was a fixed deposit inflow intended for the trip, 1 million from other intra account inflow and 5 million was income from the business. In hindsight, I think we did not explain the outflows well. My question is should we have added the total debits and divide by twelve to arrive at the monthly expense to be included in the form? This is because part of the inflows were transfers for investment purposes and we thought including investment outflow as an expense did not look quite right. We overlooked the business expenses and only captured personal monthly expenses which was a big mistake. Your thoughts on these would be helpful as we plan to apply again in April. @ dubaiprince sorry for the refusal My question is As a self employed did you normally state the purpose of each outflow of funds from ur bank account, example, (payment for goods)? Maybe that is why the eco sum all the withdrawals for a year as total expenditure for a year which those not correlate with ur 90k monthly expenses |

davodyguy: VISA ALERT FAMILY OF 3 STANDARD VISIT VISA
Firstly, the people that set up this thread, God bless and especially those who contribute regular, I dont want to be partial by calling names and leaving others out. But those that are of help, well done and God bless
When you're refused Visa and you post the refusal letter, people contribute to help you on the mistakes, and others that are yet to apply gets opportunity to read from previous errors and correct them, accordingly.
Note, no two cases are same, but there are similarities.
Here's my story.
As a family, we always travelled together and our travel period has always been consistent in December, cos of my wife's birthday.
From 2015 to 2022, I've done 9 countries Japan, South Africa, Australia, UAE, New Zealand, UAE again, Turkey, France, Saudi Arabia and Italy. My family did half of these trips with me, while I did solo on the others. 2024, we opt for UK.
TIME LINE Submitted application to UKVI online around 31st October Biometrics done 8th November, 2024 SENT to UKVI same 8th November, 2024 UKVI sent receipt mail on 12th November, 2024 TLS sent collection mail on 27th November, 2024
Documents Myself, 1. 3 years tax clearance 2. VAT Registration of my company 3. List of Clients my company works for as consultant, that include one very popular and rich Oil and Gas company headquartered in London. 4. Company registration details with active Status on CAC, along with my professional qualifications 5. Self introduction letter 6. Letter of sponsorship by my company. Yes, it's a leisure travel, but my Manager wrote a letter that my own company is sponsoring the trip 7. Submitted 3 company bank statements, one of which is a Dollar account. 8. Company fixed deposit of the total travel fund. In July, we deposited the total travel cost in a fixed deposit account designated travel funds. 9. Personal bank statement for only 3 months, but I carefully pay myself salaries, spending only half of the salary monthly. 10. Letter of invitation from my elder brother, British Citizen. 11. Letter from Uncle (mums younger brother) British Citizen 12. Letters from mum to state my uncle is her younger brother, and that she's the mother of myself and brother, she was in UK in March and attached her entry stamp to UK and exists stamp. 13. Properties title document and a valuation report showing the values of the properties 14. Marriage certificate, all previous visas and all images taken in the 11 countries I've visited, birth certificate
Spouse 1. Letter of employment, promotion letter etc 2. Letter from employer confirming approval to travel 3. Her bank statement was not attached cos the account is not tidy at all, but we submitted statements of savings account from a cooperative society, that shows she saves a certain amount from her salary every month. 4. 6 months payslip, showing tax and other deductions 5. Statement from her PFA, Stanbic 6. Marriage certificate, all previous visas and all images taken in the countries visited, birth certificate of son 7. Self introduction letter 8. Letter from UK sponsors, Nigerians sponsor, bank statements etc
My son 1. Letter of Introduction from School 2. Receipts showing School fees payments 3. Birth certificate to confirm parents details 4. all previous visas and all images taken in the countries visited. 5. Letter from UK sponsors, Nigerians sponsor, bank statements etc
All the documents I submitted in my own application, I uploaded for my spouse and son as well. Reason is that, they sometimes may not give family application to same case officer. They may spread, hence I linked all three together and uploaded the same documents for all applicants. But fortunately for us, I presume it was handled by same case officer as email came in together, same time and hour
As regards how much you're willing to spend personally
Myself, I put ₦300k (saying company will sponsor all other cost)
Spouse, I put £5, saying husband's company will sponsor other cost
Son, I put ₦1 saying father will sponsor other cost
How much is your sponsor paying
Myself, I put the amount My spouse, I put the same amount Son, I put the same amount
Then added an addendum that the above sum provided by the sponsor is to be jointly spent by all applicants.
Our travel is for leisure, but I still used Company as sponsor, because we have a policy that allows founder to enjoy vacation. If Donald Trump is going on holiday as President of USA, it is state funds that would be used. As Tinubu is buying jet and travelling everywhere, it's on account of Nigeria. So a founder of a company can choose to use company funds for leisure
As regards employment, I chose self employed as the founder of a company, then showed tax clearance etc
I wish everyone looking forward to this kind of good news well in Jesus name (insha'Allah) @ Davodyguy, we congratulate you again Please, how did you answer the question that says, while is your sponsor paying for the trip? |

Ashirioluwa: You can be the sole sponsor of your wife's trip. I am not saying you can't do that, but it will be to her advantage if she can prove that she has a job and if she can show her bank statements too.
Also, I want you to know that bank statement or money is not the only determining factor for a successful visa application. There are other important things to address too.
Anyway, since you claimed you have enough resources, why don't you guys apply as a family? @ Ashirioluwa, thanks for ur adequate response As for me, I am too busy at work, she applied alone in her previous denied application, because to make a family application that is the reason I want her to apply with her two children in the next application? One is 2yrd old, second is less than a Year old U have not answered my question, which I said how long we should wait before she can reapply? |

Ashirioluwa: Let her wait until she feels she can resolve the issues that led to the denial of her initial visa application. Although you stated that you would be the sole sponsor, it would be beneficial if she could also submit her bank statement.
A co-sponsor is a joint sponsor, meaning that both you and she will pay for the trip. @ Ashirioluwa thanks and remain bless I want to be her full sponsor and my two children and we are going to submit are statement of account. About the cosponsor can i say she will spending 100k? Cos I don't want her to spend much since am the full sponsor She had started paying herself a salary of 300k as income from her job, right from this month and her disposable income will be 250k my question is that, can she reapply after six months? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by onile1975: 1:36pm On Oct 23, 2024 |
Ashirioluwa: She has a business; therefore, give sometimes to let her have enough money in her own bank account so she can sponsor or cosponsor the trip.
The most important thing is that she will need to show evidence of strong home ties to Nigeria, like family ties and employment. @ Ashirioluwa thanks 1)She already have four children and me her husband as family tie. 2)She has a job. 3)What do u mean by cosponsor? Pls like how long she should wait before reapply? |

giselle237: This application is most likely to be refused. Everything looks forced and with previous refusals already + zero travel history, no ECO would take such chances of granting this visa as this tallies with one with no strong compelling ties/one who would recourse to public funds is given the visa. If you were also seen as a worthy sponsor during the last application, her income might have mattered less but no you were not seen in that light .It is a simple no until circumstances change——> 200-250k disposable income all new information + no verifiable employment —-> no—-> and all the signs are clearly here. @ giselle237 and cashmadam thanks for ur response Actually I fully sponsor her last refused application and the reason for this denied was pure economic financial circumstances, now we want to amend it, before her next application, meanwhile, as part of her effort she just came back from Ghana by flight last month.i hope this travel will help in next application? Am also going to be fully sponsor her and my two chilnext application, this time, she will apply with her two children, another thing is that she is going to hopen more salon shop to boost her income cos she was into hairdressing ,and she will explain this as the reason cause change in her income from 65k to 300k and also submit pictures of all the salon shop as evidence,I hope this will boost her chances of getting it next year when she reapply? |

What of if her business is expand by open more saloon shops, because she is a hairdresser, and employed more aprentix to work for her this will in crease her income and she will be able to pay herself a salary of #300,000 per month, and she will explain to (eco)in her next application that the business expansion cause her salary to change from 65k to 300k.she will submit the pictures of all the new opening salon shops as the evidence

Berisagurl: Nope. We however had a UK visa in 2016, which we did not use because it was approved after our proposed travel date. We were a family of 3 then.
We submitted: 1. My husbands bank statements (corporate and personal) 2. Introduction letter from my husband that explained the nature of his business and a separate letter explaining the cash inflow and outflows in his bank statements. 3. Detailed itinerary of our trip. We detailed our accommodation plan, activities we would be doing and also estimated the costs of all these. 4. He wrote sponsorship letters for each of us, stating how much we would each spend and that he is covering the entire cost. 5. I wrote an introduction letter for myself, included my bank statements and also included my husband’s. And I clearly stated in the letter that he would be sponsoring. The balance in both my statements was not up to 200k. But the statements had good detailed inflow and outflow. 6months statement. 6. We also included my husband’s personal income tax receipts. He’s business is registered as a business name, so he only pays Personal income tax. He however files his annual returns with CAC so his business is active on their site. 7. Lastly we provided a lot of documents to proof home tie. Landed property docs, pics of business premises, payment receipts etc. 8. And the reason for the trip too also mattered I guess. This year is our 10th year wedding anniversary. That’s the reason we are visiting to celebrate it. In @ Barsaguri, congrats Pls how much is ur monthly income and ur living expenses? |

@ Cash madam well done
I need a clarification on the address part of my daughter of 7months olds application form, ,in the question where u live,if it's not up to 2years,it will request for previous address, see the question below, how can we fill it for baby of 7months? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by onile1975: 4:57pm On Oct 02, 2024 |
Cashmadam: The Mother will simply not list the Baby as her dependant. It's really not a big deal.
The fact that the Mother is travelling with her Baby does not make it compulsory for the Baby to be her dependant. If the Baby's Father provides all the funds for the Baby's upkeep, then the Baby does not need to be listed as the Mother's dependant. @ Cashmadam With what u said above, that means the name of the baby will not appear on the mother's application form, are u sure that the eco will not say that it was not stated in the mother application that the baby will be traveling with the mother and denied the baby on this reason ? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by onile1975: 3:23pm On Oct 01, 2024 |
Cashmadam: Not necessarily. If the Father takes care of the Baby, the baby is not her dependant. She should not have added 4 dependants - that's a lot. Especially on such a low income. It's too late now so she should leave it at 4 and not increase to 5.
I hope this helps. @ Cashmadam thanks The mother is traveling alone with her new born baby that will make it to be 5dependant and another child, since the Father is not traveling with them, how is he going to take the additional dependant so that the mother can mentain 4dependants? |

Thegamingorca: Why must you assume her expenses must increase?
Leave it at 50,000 or go lower. Ensure that after every month she has more than 250,000 naira out of her salary left as disposable income. It makes her look responsible, frugal. It will make her look like somebody who indeed is planning for a travel without recourse to use public funds. 250k is less than 100 pounds with today's oanda rates.
Even if you sponsor her at the end of the day, her discipline on the account will no doubt give her an edge or a pass on the financial aspect of the application. @Thegamingorca thanks for ur advice It is noted. |

Her income is simply too low. Perharps if her income increases to N300k, it might help. I say might because other factors determine the outcome of the application./quote]
@ Cashmadam u are God sent to mankind,I appreciate,am still expecting ur response
Ok, what u said is noted
I want to ask, even if her salary increase to 300k,can I still fully sponsor her trip?
Or its a must that she should contribute certain amount of money towards her trip?
Lastly,if her salary increase, that means her living expenses must increase she has five dependants. |

Cashmadam: Surely, your wife should have some savings...
Although you will be her sponsor, she must be seen to have some degree of financial independence . Her income is low and her disposable income is extremely low. At this rate, it might be better to say she is a full time house wife. @ Cashmadam thanks a lot She can not apply as full house wife because she was been denied in August as a self employed in Hairdresser salon job with monthly income of #65000 and living expenses of #50000, She was denied on the fact that the living expenses those not reflect on her account,I also submitted my account as the sponsor, she is now running new account by paying her salary into her account and withdraw #50000 has her monthly expenses. And the eco said, her circumstances must change if she want to apply again. She just came back from Ghana by road last week, and we are planning to apply for her next year with two children,so with Ghana trip, can it increase her chance of getting it next year? Or what do you think we can do to boost her chance of getting it next year? Or what of , if her salary is increase to 250k? Will it boost her chance? |
