GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, yesterday, said his government will give adequate support to groups and individuals involved in keeping the youths occupied positively as this would reduce the crime rate in the country.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by a United States-based group, Access to Success, Oshiomhole said that part of the problem in the country was unemployment.
He said: “Part of the problem in Nigeria today, like you have in America, is the problem of youth unemployment and because the youths are idle, some of them resort to crime and other activities which are quite dysfunctional.
“Anything that will keep them busy, and encourage them to recognise that there is a future, and seeing people like you, they will believe that they also can overcome the poverty trap. Moments later, the comrade Governor ban okada riders in Benin. Is this a way of occupying the youths positively?

There is nothing democratic about Nigeria democracy.The judiciary has turned to meat market,the legislative arm has become a den for greedy businessmen whereself-serving laws are enacted. The executive arm is so clueless and reckless.Any celeberation is a total waste of time and resources. Politicians especially Goodluck Jonathan should apologise to Nigerians for his woeful performance and careless loss of lives of poor and hapless Nigerians.
They should renew their oath of office and enter into a new contract with Nigerians by signing a bond to be of good moral conduct.Nigerians should also rise up and say NO to the authocratic tendencies of Mr. President or else Nigeria will be plunged into avoidable state of anarchy.

Sir Alex Ferguson said an emotional goodbye to Old Trafford after Manchester United's 2-1 win against Swansea on Sunday, thanking the fans for their support and imploring them to get behind successor David Moyes .

Akoko-Edo Ward 8,….13 Ballot boxes snatched. Justice Imoukhuede of the Edo State High Court has ordered EDSIEC to refund monies it collected from candidates as application fee.

In ward 1, unit 6, the chairman of Edo State Civil Service Commission presided over multiple voting. that is a person was allowed to vote 4 or 5 times. Tanks to the presiding officers and polling clerks who were all ACN party members.

Akoko-Edo ward 1, unit 6 and unit 13 were MARRED with irregularities in favour of ACN. Unit 9 was also rigged in favour of ACN, but fight ensued between the PDP and ACN youths and this unit (unit 9) was cancelled. Total result 4 ward 1 for councillorship: PDP: 618, ACN: 898. All presiding officers and polling clerks are also ACN party members.
