omenka: Somebody must have wet their pant on seeing that acc number.
I see Baba pursuing these criminals with all his might and wisdom given that we might not be earning as much as 50% of our revenue to finance 2016 budget from oil sales- the price may drop below 20dpb given the latest US policy.
I really feel for the president, coming in at a very difficult time like this. Had previous governments done what they were supposed to do when we had so much perhaps there would have been sufficient cushion one would have hardly felt the impact of the crashing oil price.
They made so much noise, held conferences, proposed policies for diversification of the economy, all of which ended on paper since oil prices kept rising.
They were so lazy, sloppy and addicted to petrodollars and squandered the windfall with reckless abandon- now we are here. Same criminals and their gang of brainwashed supporters want us to rebuild what they took 16 years to destroy in just 7months!
Baba, make sure every single penny in their possession is recovered using whatever means necessary. We cannot afford to fail on this budget and Nigerians would not accept excuses! Wake up from your sleep man, baba is involved in this too. As soon as Baba's name was mentioned by Dasuki, Dokpesi was let out of prison, days later, Dasuki was freed. Why haven't EFCC arrested Tony Anenih till now? |
Education › Re: 'Am And I'm': Many Nigerians Can't Differentiate Between The 2 On Social Media by onimcee1(m): 9:08am On Dec 17, 2015 |
horexy: Very true and it's so annoying 'Am' is an auxilliary verb...it can't start a sentence while 'I'm' is the shorter form for or an abbreviation of 'I am'. I wonder why most pple throw the 'I' away. For example: 'I am eating' shouldn't be 'am eating' cos it wouldn't make sense if u shorten 'she is eating' to 'is eating' am like any other auxiliary verb can be used to start a sentence but only if it is an interrogative sentence |

seunmsg: EFCC should go and bundle him from his house asap. The GEJ era of sacred cows and impunity is long over. If he doesn't want to respect his old age by honouring simple invitation extended to him, he should be dragged out of his house disgracefully to EFCC custody. I support your DRAG HIM OUT DISGRACEFULLY thing, however, I fear EFCC wouldn't do such. Believe me Anenih knows too much about the BIG WIGS in this country. Drag him out and many people go down. Leave him alone and all the bigger thieves in this country are safe. Just want I think. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 14 Salary Negotiation Responses That Could Cost You Your Dream Job! by onimcee1(m): 4:12pm On Dec 08, 2015 |
[quote author=tolexy12 post=40800176]Salary negotiation responses that could cost you your dream job! #1. "I accept your first offer" The employer often offers the job and salary simultaneously. Never say yes right away -- even if you like the offer. Try not to end your negotiation process before it even starts.
#2. "I Want X" Information is the key to any kind of negotiation and a common mistake job-seekers make is telling the employer what you’ll accept. Let the employer make the first offer — this will put you into the position to see the number they are offering and gives you the opportunity to negotiate it up from there.
#3. "Is That All You Can Offer?" Such phrase could easily offend the employer and you will lose the chance of landing that job. Even is the salary they're offering is hilarious — try do not show your emotions and negotiate further.
#4. "I Have A Better Offer" or "This Is My Final Offer" You might have a better offer, but this doesn't mean you can use it to pressure the employer. Whatever you do, don’t threaten to leave if you don’t get the raise, you also shouldn’t threaten your boss with other job offers, interviews, or recruiter conversations.
#5. "My Answer Is No" Negotiations are called like that for a reason, while negotiating you should be flexible and make counteroffers if the offer employer have made doesn't suit you. Answering "no" to an offer is a great way of losing the chance to get any offer.
#6. "I Don't Want To Sound Agressive, But" This kind of phrases should never be used in the negotiation process, especially if you don't have any facts to base on further.
#7. "I Need" Don’t focus on your personal needs. You make a much better case to your boss that you’re worth more when you focus on your performance and achievements.
#8. "I Hate To Have To Ask, But..." There is no easy way to start asking for money, but saying that you "hate it" is just the most terrible way. Nobody hates to ask for more money, so just don't lie that you do.
#9. "I've Heard You Offered X To Jane And I Am A Much Better Worker" Using gossip as a tool in salary negotiation is simply unprofessional and you can shoot yourself in the foot with such phrase. Also it is rude. Ofcourse you can and even should make a research on your market value, thought you should do this on the Internet, not in the office.
#10. "I Think/Maybe" Do not use words that will make you sound unsure. To receive the best offer you need to sound confident.
#11. "Thats The Least I'm Willing To Accept" If you will tell the lower offer you're willing to accept, make sure to deal with it, because its the highest offer you will receive.
#12. "I'm Sorry" Apologizing in the salary negotiation means you're unconfident. Value yourself and know exactly what you're worth. When you know exactly what kind of value you will bring to the company, you do not need to say you're sorry because you want more money.
#13. "This Is So Cheap" Being disrespectful to the employer could simply leave you without a job.
#14. "I Worth So Much More" If you don't want to look arrogant - if you want to mention your value, try to say it in a way that isn't so obnoxious. Thumbs up... A similar topic helped me put my current employer in an akward position during negotiation. I earn more than the other employees here. |

size40: It seems INEC in Rivers State has become a political party to file an appeal against a Tribunal judgement. I have not heard of this b4. It is the PDP and Wike, its candidate that are meant to file an appeal against a tribunal Judgement and not the INEC. Except the INEC is constituting itself as a political party which seems to me like the INEC commissioner in Rivers State has been heavily been compromised in Rivers State by the PDP. you are a good example of the saying, common sense is no common. So INEC was not joined in the suit? And it was not the credibility of INEC that was challenged in court? If you still do not understand, I am sorry, I can't help you. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How To Negotiate Your Salary During The Interview Process by onimcee1(m): 11:59pm On Sep 02, 2015 |
jashar: hmmmm... some of these interviewers would blatantly refuse to tell you the salary range. They would insist you name a price. How do you handle that? Also, it's a bit difficult to know the salary structure of some companies especially the ones that are not so popular. How do you go about salary negotiations then? Case and point, my friend was interviewed with Success Power Media for the position of Customer Care. I even helped her do some research but we couldn't come up with anything tangible like that. At the interview, she was asked how much she would like, she said 70k because they didn't give her anything to go by. She later heard they gave the job to someone else for 40k. If she had known, she may not have bothered going because she knew her limit, on the other hand, they never told her how much they were willing to pay. So, she had no idea whether or not to reconsider the offer. Hope you get my long story...
. I think your friend got it wrong somewhere; which is, like the op said, wait until it has been established that you are the right person for the job before naming a price. Better still, act like you know what you can offer and ask what they think the position is worth. This way, you don't have to be the first to name a price. As for knowing the salary scale, maybe you girls didn't research enough. |
